I've been trying to find images of the inside of the drum to see the construction of the body more clearly. Can you please tell me about the seam of the body - how it was joined - looking at the bearing rim it doesn't look like it was single cast?

I was about to pick up the Gretsch before this dropped! I’d still like to get one some day, I had the opportunity to play one and the responsiveness is incredible. This drum RULES, I’ve taken it everywhere now and it’s always the talk of the night. It’s a bit lighter and very loud, but there’s something about a deep bronze shell that can’t be beat lol. Also the ride is a Zildjian 21” A Mega Bell!
i bought a Sonor phonic reissue. It had foam cut perfectly surrounding the entire drum. I actually saved the box and packaging for when I bring it out.

That’s a bold packing strategy. I used to ship for Guitar Center and packed the hell outta everything, like it would be thrown around the warehouse.
