The calls that start with "I've been a fan since" are the most annoying. Because you've been a fan for a period of time means your point is valid? Does it mean you have superior knowledge and we should not disagree with you? Go away. Never call again. Don isn't the only one tired of hearing it.
I called in once, it was like 9 months ago, and said "I've been a Yankees fan since 1362" (I forget the year but it was around there) I thought they might appreciate my satire but it didn't get a huge laugh from Michael or Peter, Don was off that day. Maybe it wasn't as funny or clever as I thought it would be.
I'm from Queens and I used to like the Yankees and Mets because I'm a HUGE baseball fan it was when I first started watching the game....crazy as it sounds I started hating the Mets when they won the Series against Boston and I hated them ever since
I thought old blue jays fans were morons. They got literally nothing on Dinosaur Yankee fans who hold how long their fandom is like they're an Authority figure.
One or the other plain and simple. I’m from the Bronx yet a Mets fan my whole life. I get along with Yankees fans from Queens because they get the same bs around the neighborhood for supporting their team too lol.
I don't necessarily agree with the caller but at the same time this stance that liking both New York teams is "wrong" is stupid also. "They played in the World Series in 2000" Which was 20+ years ago and was the only meeting between the 2 teams since the Mets inception in 1962 which was nearly 40 years prior to that 2000 series. There are fans of both teams now who weren't even alive then And they play a grand total of 4 or 6 games out of 162 and apart from those games neither teams schedule has an impact on the other and if they play each others division rivals you want em to beat em. How does the Yankees making the postseason affect the Mets in any real way and vice versa? At the end of the day either team making it should be a positive for the city as a whole shouldn't it? It's a piss-poor rivalry if I ever saw one. Jets-Giants even more so. Play in the same stadium and barring a Super Bowl match-up (which seems unlikely anytime soon for either team) they play each other once every 4 damn years. The only real New York rivalries are the Knicks-Nets and Rangers-Islanders-Devils because they all play in the same division in the same conference and constantly compete against the other for a playoff spot
The argument isn't that its wrong to be a fan of both. Don's point is you can't call yourself a die hard fan of one if you are also a fan of the other.
There’s nothing really inherently wrong with being a mets and yank fan at the same time, but ol’ John didn’t deliver his point well at all. Don’t tell us how long you’ve been following them, don’t name drop, just stick to the point and stick to the facts if you have any to present in an argument…
Name dropper "Oh, I sat in Toot Shor's box!"
"I've been a Yankee fan since the Revolutionary War!!"
" go gardening " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There should be a drop for when someone says “I been a yankee fan since….” Lol they should play a cut up of someone says every year lol
I've been a Yankees fan since the stone age!!
“Go gardening” HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Don seemed more offended about the fact that the dude swore at him lol
We’ll yea no shit
So awesome... Love these rants.

Michael said that the curse was picked up and aired on YES. Does anyone have that clip?
I'm on John's side. Don is kinda ridiculous here with the sanctimony
I route for one NY team which is the Mets.
Lose the number!
jus a normal ny conversation

It's always hilarious to hear. Like people should drop to their knees and bask in the glory of true Fandom

They did not let him finish..don is wrong here..sure he was going to say he roots for the Yankees over the Mets head to head.
Bullshit. Pick a side. Every real New Yorker knows that.

@@andrewc.4471 exactly, if you’re die hard it’s either one or the other.
This was hilarious.
What’s wrong with John lol
I hope I never become that caller 😂
If your a die hard it’s either one or the other.
Don gets slammed. Don is embarrassment on this call. Way to go Don, encouraging people to be baseball fans. 🙄
Come on man
Clown take
