- This is the state of my fountain pen collection as of March 2023! It looks very different from the collection when I first toured it in 2022. I will continue to sell any pens that do not fit with my personal style or nib preferences anymore, and purchase new pens that catch my eye over the years. If ever my collection is drastically different again, I will of course do an updated tour for you! OMG! I also have the Moonman/Majohn A1 dope for the pilot in orange 😂. I put permanent/archival/waterproof ink in it for sketches and singing paperwork at the office. It was so cheap, I think it is good for what I am using it. My next one will be the real deal...the Pilot.

What an absolutely gorgeous collection of pens! Love the cases too. I haven’t been sucked into pen collecting (yet), although I love them. I have a few Lamys and that’s it. Your video makes it very tempting to buy more! I appreciate all the info you provided since I don’t know a lot about “fancy” pens 😊. I have been looking at the TWSBI pens, but I’m worried once I start, I’ll spend way too much money. I tend to go “all in” when I start a new collection 😂.
Oh I get it, I went all in, too!! A lot of people stick with an "entry level cost" collection, with a lot of TWSBI, Kaweco, and Lamy represented, and that's a super cool way to enjoy fountain pens, too! My collection was almost all at that cost level until fairly recently. It is very hard to stop once you start because there's always another gorgeous pen!

Would love to see you do a video about "Why I love my broad nib fountain pens" I have purchased a few broad nibs and struggling a bit I want to learn to love them and would love you to share all of your broad nibs and go into detail about why you love them and how they react to certain inks and paper, etc. The more discussion, the better. It would encourage me, because I'm a little discouraged right now and want to love them.. for me, I like that it lays down a fair amount of ink, especially if I am using shimmer inks.. but would love to hear your feelings about them. Thanks
I’ve been thinking a lot about this comment. I wonder if I’d be able to do this in a monologue versus a discussion! It might be difficult, but to tide you over, I am obsessed with ink and need to see it flowing onto the page, see it in a thick line, and really enjoy seeing its properties (like shimmer, sheen, and shading), which tend to show far more in a broad, double broad, zoom, music, flex, and coarse nibs, which is a big reason why I love huge nibs like that! I also love the super smooth glide, I find them so delicious. But maybe you can let me know why you enjoy the nibs you do enjoy and that might help me think of other elements I can discuss!

Love your presentation and your explanation and update. So much fun to see how many similarities we have double broad in Kaweco. I do have to say my medium TWSBI Ecos and 580s are so consistently wonderful nibs to write with.
I've never tried a medium TWSBI, can you imagine?! I love my 580 stub so much, I can see getting a rose gold smoke with a medium for sure!
Very nice collection. Love the hack with tape to keep a converter from rattling :) I like a fine nib once in a while, but like you I gravitate more to broad nibs -love seeing more ink on the page. Thanks for sharing!
Exactly! I actually watch it hit the page and change color as it dries and move the paper back and forth if there's shimmer and just oggle. Very therapeutic!

I loved this tour through your pen collection! An Estie is definitely on my wish list. I’d love to see you put together a video on favorite ink blends 💕🥰 since you mentioned blending two inks to adjust legibility. Have your tried your Platinum Carbon Black in a vac-fill pen? That’s my fave indelible ink/pen combination.
I've actually never tried a vac fill point blank! I've thought about getting the TWSBI Mini vac fill, since I have such good experiences with them on my other pens, but so far my Lecoule has been great as a sketch pen! Thank you so much for visiting my channel -- I would be happy to include some ink mixing in my ink collection update video that will be going up in the next few weeks or so!

@@CreatingCuteArt haha~ no secret really! i just looked at my collection (i have a vid posted a while back if you're interested), re-evaluated it, and figured a lot of it i didn't use and that was mostly because because i just don't journal enough or dont sketch with FPs enough. knowing that i seldom use FPs made me realise i shouldn't spend money in that area. :) sold or gave away most of my collection and now i only have a few that i do use should i want to use FPs ;D

I love the Kaweco BB nibs, but their stub nibs are also wonderful. You can get gold colored Platinum converters.

Definitely on the way!! I am waiting for some more to come in 😂🤣 and then I can do the update! I missed my red al sport when I just got a gorgeous glowing shading ink called Napa Burgundy! I put it in the white Pilot to assuage myself 😂🤣😂
I love the idea of matching the ink color to the pen. I wish iridescent colors flowed better. Maybe I haven't found the right one yet ...

Be careful my friend!!! Last time I counted I have 85, which feels insane so I'm trying to not need new pens. Lol I'm trying to curate my collection down. I always think I only need one more pen! 😂

I loved this video! What a lovely collection. Just fyi- you can get a gold converter for your platinum nice! I got them for both of mine and it looks so nice. But it is an extra purchase!

@@CreatingCuteArt Im sorry for just seeing this - I honestly don’t remember. But they are pretty widely available since a lot of platinum pens don’t come with converters. You can get gold or silver toned ones!

@@CreatingCuteArt Yeah, the regular Pro Gear is only slightly taller than the Slim, but I'd say it's noticeably chunkier. The Pro Gear is a small pen overall, though to me it feels kind of large because most of my pens are Slims.

Maggie, may I ask what these Stream of Consciousness pages are you are doing in the morning? Is it like some morning habit for better mental well being, like some writing meditation?
It's called "morning pages"! The only rules are to write three journal pages first thing in the morning without stopping. No self-censoring or overthinking, just total stream of consciousness. It's never to be shared with anyone! Really fun way to use your pens but also kind of meditate and feels a bit like therapy to me!
@@CreatingCuteArt This sounds absolutely amazing! So what I do when I draw in my sketchbooks but in the early morning and not focusing on art at all! May I drink two cups of coffee first? I don’t function without it and couldn’t hold a pen 🤣
@@MoniDmajor I usually do it after breakfast w/coffee and call that "first thing"!
Did the Moonman T1 come with a jinhao nib? I have a T1 as well which came with a Moonman nib.
How did you swap the nib on the T1? is it friction fit?
The T1 actually came with two nibs when I got it--a Jinhao (which is the awesome one I'm talking about there) and a Moonman branded (which was a bit scratchy and too fine for my tastes). To switch out the nibs I pinch the section and nib between my thumb and forefinger with something like a rubber thimble or thick rubber band to protect the feed, and twist back and forth until it slides out. It slides in easily, so I do believe it's friction fit. I watched a TH-cam video on it before I tried so I wouldn't ruin the feed!
