I don’t like the auto running sections in boost levels and skyscraper scamper has two of em. Not to mention a lot of things in this level don’t feel well designed for the boost such as the drifting sections and the tubes you have to run across. Boost is best when it’s linear and I’d def put levels like arid sands, windmill isle, or savannah citadel where you have full control the whole time over this
Eggmanland is the best level in Unleashed imo. It’s a difficult level, you’re constantly switching between Day and Night gameplay, there’s a lot of branching paths, it tests all of your skills, and the concept of Eggmanland itself had been built up since Sonic adventure. So ye I like it a lot :3
I love eggmanland so much! It’s my favorite sonic level ever, it’s just so epic. All the branching paths, the amazing music, and come on, we get to actually run around to destroy eggman’s amusement park!
I would vouch for Egg Fleet as the best level from Heroes. It's so climactic, running along the flying battleships in the sky. Not to mention the sense of speed and danger of it all, being super high up, and free falling down to the next ship is always exhilarating. The bigger Shark Battle Cruisers are so cool, and you go through them destroying it at the end before moving to the next section. It's so hype. There's some excellent shortcuts, the music goes hard of course, and the general sense of urgency and thrill is amazing. Not to mention it's quite long. I remember finally A Ranking it and clocking in at around 5 minutes. Definitely the level I replay the most. It's such a great level.
I can see why. I was absolutely shocked when I realized that for some reason SEGA decided that METROPOLIS ZONE DESERVED AN ACT 3 AND NOT ANY OTHER STAGE.
Red Mountain has to be one of my favorite levels ever. It's crazy how many shortcuts they managed to fit into one level. On top of that, the gimmick of wobbling platforms on the lava seems like it's supposed to be an obstacle, but a careful player can turn them into ramps! Don't even have to mention Red Hot Skull
That level captures what makes a good 3D Sonic level perfectly. And very few 3D... and "3D" (*cough* 2D.5) Sonic levels since really rival its simple and fun energy.

Personally, Quartz Quadrant is my favorite Sonic CD level, as I think it's the perfect showcase of the game's mechanics. It manages to naturally implement the speed and momentum classic Sonic is known for, while still keeping the scale and exploration aspect that CD's other levels have. It's still large and vertical like any other CD stage, but still manages to be fast-paced with it's many different pathways and gimmicks. It's surprisingly easy to time travel, and the robot generators are placed in easy and smart locations. They aren't hard to find, but you still have to do some exploring, and make the best use of Sonic's physics. Plus, the JP music for each time zone absolutely slaps.
For both Unleashed and Generations, my favorite levels are Rooftop Run. The music is one of my favorite pieces in any video game. I love the European design. And I love the image of Sonic smashing through this peaceful city causing tons of collateral damage to take down some robots and having a blast while doing so.
Imo Kingdom Valley is easily the best level in 06. It's got expansive level designs, some neat gimmicks, and a great aesthetic. Sonic running across the ocean to catch up the Egg Carrier as it parts around him is genuinely one of my favorite moments in a Sonic game. The level really feels like a summation of what 06 was trying to be, and what it could've been if 06 had the chance to be finished.
My favourite Zone, in Sonic & Knuckles, is Flying Battery Zone (I can't decide if I like Act 1 or Act 2 better). While it combines aspects of Metropolis Zone and Wing Fortress Zone, it makes them both a lot less frustrating, it also brings in its own unique mechanics to the plate, giving Flying Battery Zone its own identity. The obstacles and enemies also don't slow you down too much. Plus, the music to both acts are still bangers.
My favorite level in Sonic 2006 is Crysis City. This level has a very tense apocalyptic vibe and the music pushes it to the limit, but Sonic Generations did a BEAUTIFUL remix for it.
-Starlight Zone in Sonic 1 is a really fun and cozy stage before the climax. -Aquatic Ruin is similar to Hydrocity where it's a water level that doesn't always force you to be in the water (the music slaps too). -Both acts of Flying Battery and Lava Reef are a blast to run through. -Twinkle Park is a close 2nd favorite for SA1 -Metal Harbor may be short, but it requires _perfection_ to get that A Rank. Especially since I'm bad at the rocket skip. -Egg Fleet is just hype. -Kingdom Valley has an awesome aesthetic and the waterfall segment at the end is tense and exciting (mainly in Project 06, but still) I-only ever played UnWiished, so uhhh... Rooftop Run? I don't remember -Terminal Velocity may just be a straight line, but it's still hype. -Modern Seaside Hill is probably the best designed level in the entire franchise. There's a ridiculous amount of variety in how you run through it. -Honeycomb Highway is decent i guess -Capital City is probably the level I replayed the most (which isn't saying much). I like the constant gravity switching. -I have a hard time remembering which Cyberspace Stage is which, but there's one on Island 4 that has the city aesthetic and the spinning spike balls that I find really challenging.
Honestly Sky Sanctuary in Generations is so great that even the 3D Cyberspace levels in frontiers that are based on it are really fun too. At least in my opinion :p
I have always loved Sonic’s levels. They are fast and visually appealing. They could be anything as well considering Sonic’s world is so unpredictable. The possibilities are endless.
I've always said "hy-dross-ity" (rhyming with "velocity") because it's the first water level fast enough for Sonic to run along the top of the water. "Velocity" roughly defines as a synonym for "speed," which is what Sonic is known for. Heck, Sonic's name is the word for the speed of sound, and the transformation he receives with all seven Chaos Emeralds is the word for the speed of light
"Heck, Sonic's name is the word for the speed of sound, and the transformation he receives with all seven Chaos Emeralds is the word for the speed of light" Uh.... no....
@@isodoubIetin the Archie Comics, from MatPat, he does run faster than the Speed of Light, hence why he wears LightSpeed Shoes to run at the Speed of Light. If you’ve seen MatPat’s videos, you’ll understand the concept a bit better
Since Chaomix didn’t bother, I’ll go ahead and do it for him: Cool Edge 1 is the best Werehog level in Sonic Unleashed. The game’s platforming elements are taken full advantage of, with surprisingly forgiving collapsing platforms and climbing segments, and a decent amount of secrets. Plus, the level has a distinct “decent into the unknown” aesthetic that somehow makes the arctic look interesting. Kudos!
Realy like your List, here is mine: STH -> Green Hill (act 1) CD -> Colision Chaos (act 1) STH2 -> Chemical Plant (act 2) STH3 -> Ice Cap (act 2) S&K -> Lava Reef (act 1) SA -> Twinkle Park SA2 -> City Escape Heroes -> Egg Fleet 06 -> Crisis City Unleashed -> Arid Sands (Day) STH4 Ep1 -> Splash Hill (act 1) STH4 Ep2 -> White Park (act 1) Colours -> Aquarium Park (act 4) Generations -> Rooftop Run (act 2) Lost World -> Zelda DLC Mania -> Studiopolis (act 2) Forces -> Null Space Frontiers -> Arrow of Time (4-5)
21:55 Whoa whoa dude, Hoobastank has at least three great hits. I like "Same Direction", "Out of Control" and of course, "The Reason". Also Fist Bump was peformed by Doug Robb alone, without the rest of the band sadly.
I think Sonic 2's best zone was Aquatic Ruin. Why? Because it feels like what a Sonic water level SHOULD be! The music slaps, the boss is creative, you're ALLOWED to go fast, yes, the enemy placement is mid, I know that. But overall, I think everything about this zone is amazing! And, if you're good enough, you can avoid the water! Being fast was something that was limited in certain areas like Chemical Plant for me, but Aquatic Ruin? Man oh man, was it a breath of fresh air! Just having that feeling of Sonic going so fast, that he literally flies off the screen, jumping so high, being able to maintain momentum for more than five seconds, and the level design, IS PERFECTO. Okay well, not really. There are flaws. But the actual design and platforming of this level actually allow for a great, fun Sonic experience! Unlike levels like Metropolis, or Chemical Plant, which I dreaded a LOT, I was always excited to play Aquatic Ruin, ever since I first played the zone, Aquatic Ruin has solidified itself as my downright favorite Sonic level of all time!
Sonic CD is so strange because it's a game about taking your time and exploring each level, not about going fast... while also being a Sonic game? I understand why it confounds Sonic fans, but personally it's still my favorite game in the series.
I think people underestimates Kingdom valley's Visuals, countless alterantive paths, hard but amazing mach speed section and, I guess, Fresh Buddy Silver gameplay.
I hate the water in Chemical Plant, but that very anxiety it gave me as a child is why it's so nostalgic and why I love it, it's a rare example of something you hate because it's done right.
Personally, I'm french and the perk with being french is that no matter if it's written "Hydrocity" or "Hydro City", the pronounciation remains the same
My favorite Sonic Stages are a bit different~ Sonic 1 is Starlight, Sonic 2 is Aquatic Ruin, Sonic 3 is Casino Night, Sonic Knuckles is Sandopolis Act 2, Sonic Adventure is Lost World, Sonic Heroes is Hang Castle and Mystic Mansion, Sonic Mania is Press Garden.
I’m a 90’s kid, dad got us a Dreamcast in 99 and sonic adventure was my obsession. And Speed Highway was my favorite level. Mostly because the running down a skyscraper bit. So badass
I would love it if someone ported 4-3 into Sonic Adventure 2. I don’t play mods, but I can guarantee anyone who does would have a good time with it. Heck, you could replace crazy gadget with this level, and nothing of value would be lost that day.
Egg Fleet is probably my favourite level in the whole series. The intro that creates a powerful atmosphere as you travel across Eggman's armada, a range of enemies to run through - including the E2000 that are introduced in this level - a nice mix of utility between the character types, and I love the music!
City Escape is very iconic and fun, but Final Rush has to be my personal favorite SA2 level. To me, it's an absolute adrenaline rush, especially when jumping the rails for unintended shortcuts. It's often instant death messing them up, but it's also extremely rewarding when pull off a string of death-defying leaps flawlessly.
Green Hill Zone is fantastic because of all the different routes there are. Emerald was kind of a pale imitation in Sonic 2 (being just 2 different routes. Look up the maps on google and you'll be impressed just what was in Green). Exploring Green Hill was fun. There were things you never noticed even on your 4th, 5th or 6th time going through it.
Good choices! My favourite level is Egg Fleet from Heroes, if only for the presentation of busting the Big Bad's entire armada in one fell swoop. It really is a shame that it doesn't represent Heroes in Generations. By the way, ever considered ranking Sonic P-06's levels? Well, at least once the Silver Update comes out, but from what we've got, P-06 is easily the definitive experience.
For SA2, it's Metal Harbor all the way for me. Super fun, fast paced, not too long, shortcuts at every turn, even some fun hidden secrets like that one tower that has a single ring hidden on top of it. And the music sounds sounds like you're going on vacation.
My favorite zone is Launch Base. The old tracks for the zone gave it such a secret spy mission-like feeling as if you were sneaking into Eggman's base without him knowing your in there. The present version of the track for Act 1 (In Sonic Origins) gave it such a military-base feeling. And the level layout is so fitting, having you take spinning elevator platforms and use tube elevators throughout some parts of the levels. And the fact that there are 3 bosses in Act 2 one of my favorite were Big Arms. This boss gave a good fight for a first appearance, especially how easy it is to beat it when you time your insta-shield correctly.
Wow, this is very accurate! Thanks for the upload, it makes my day. Also I think the best level in Sonic history might be something from SA2 or Unleashed
My favorite levels from all the games I’ve played and a brief summary of why I like them: Sonic 1 Starlight Zone: Very underrated because you have to slog through Labyrinth to even get to it but it’s very satisfying once you get through Labyrinth. Sonic CD Collision Chaos: I really love the aesthetic and music of it. Sonic 2 Casino Night: It’s kinda underrated I’d say it’s just as iconic as Chemical Plant I love the whole Las Vegas aesthetic of it. Sonic 3 Ice Cap: The very first Ice level in the Sonic Series has a very cool first impression (pun intended?) with the snowboarding and plus I really love Ice Levels in video games and hate the Summer. Sonic Adventure Final Egg: A very fun finale to Sonic’s Story and deserves more love. Sonic Adventure 2 Metal Harbour: Sonic escaping from the G.U.N Military and that part where you race up to the rocket in 15 seconds and can go for extra score points. Sonic Heroes Frog Forest: I love the music level design, grinding on vines and the cute froggies that make it rain! Sonic 06 Kingdom Valley: I love the medieval setting, turning on switches to grind on wind or is it water? And the Mach Speed Section is very cool Sonic Unleashed Holoska/Cool Edge: Yup another cool ice level! Sonic Colors Starlight Carnival: I music gets me hyped and I like the aesthetic Sonic 4 Casino Street: I love Casino Levels! Sonic Generations Classic City Escape: I love the little nod in the music to Endless Mine from Sonic 3 Competition Mode Sonic Lost World: I haven’t played nor beat it. Sonic Mania Mirage Saloon: I love the Wild West Vibes, Shooting yourself from a Gun and the Pinball Sections Sonic Forces: Have not played or beat it. Sonic Frontiers: I share the same opinion as Chaomix on that one.
You don't need to specify that you haven't beat a game if you haven't ever played it. If you've never played it, then we already know you haven't beat it lmao.
My liste : Sonic 1 : Green Hill, Sonic 2 : Mystic cave, Sonic 3 : Hydro-city , Sonic & knuckles : Lava Reef , Sonic adventure : Lost world , Sonic adventure 2 : City escape , Sonic heroes : Frog forest, Sonic 06 : Kingdom Valley, Sonic unleashed : Jungle Joyride day , Sonic colours : Star Light carnival , Sonic génération : RooftupRun and Chemical plant moderne, Sonic lost world : Sky Road Zone 1 , Sonic Mania : Press Garden , Sonic Forces : Sunset heights, Sonic Frontiers : Open Zone - Ares , Cyber-espace: 2-6
For Sonic generation,I would personally Pick rooftop run act 2 and for Sonic unleashed I would have to go with either mazuri day act 1 or rooftop run act 1.
I say for Heroes, gotta go with Grand Metropolis. As much as I LOVE the Team gameplay throughout the game, Grand Metropolis wins by being a pure Speed-driven level with satisfying homing attack chains, a perfect visual design, and one of the best tracks in the game. Several levels do give it a run for its money though, and given the development shinanegans I've heard about, it's a miracle they all ended up as good as they did
For Sonic CD, if you're going for the good ending by destroying all of the robot generators, then Stardust Speedway is one of the worst zones in the game. The surplus of booster pads and alternating pathways makes it hard to explore the level. Generally, I'd say Quartz Quadrant is the best level in the game.
Sonic 1: green hill Sonic 2: this one was a lot more difficult to chose so I guess Chemical plant. Sonic 3: ice cap no compition Sonic and knuckles: Sky sanctuary Sonic adventure: windy valley Sa2: green forest Sonic heroes: egg fleet or frog forest Shadow:DNP o6:wave ocean Unleashed: cool edge, rooftop run or arids sands Colors:planet wisp of aquarium park Gens: modern sea side hill Lost world:DNP forces: city park avenue Mania: press garden Frontiers best island: ouranos Frontiers best cyberspace stage:4-2
Still my head hurts in both Casino Park and Bingo Highway... Can't forgive the unresponsive controls... Imagine finally reaching the end, the characters zooms and falls off stage, and sends you back to the beginning for the one character who was left behind the whole track-
Personally, i felt like Kingdom Valley was the best Sonic 06 level. I felt that the level design was at its best in that level, the game seems to heavily theme around it alot, it's the level where sonic and silver work together, and the music and overall presentation is amazing. I felt like Wave ocean was an okay first level, but it's a bit too derivative of emerald coast for my liking.
@10:12 I recently learned that the lead singer of Crush 40, Johnny Gioeli went to the same highschool as me. And this past weekend I COULDVE gone to one of his local concerts I was gonna get my guitar signed by him and Jun Senoue, but I learned about it too late :(
My personal favorits: ***Classic Era*** S: Spring Yard Act 2 SCD: Tidal Tempest Act 2 S2: Chemical Plant Act 1 S3: Ice Cap Act 1 S&K: Flying Battery Act 1 ***Adventure Era*** SA: Windy Valley (probably a hot take) SA2: if only sonic levels are allowed then City escape, if not then shadow's White Jungle due to the adrenaline of the time limit SH: Egg Fleet ***Modern Era*** S06: havent played SU: havent played S4-P1: Mad Gear Act 1 S4-P2: White Park Act 1 SC: havent played SG: Whisp Planet Act 1 (Classic Sonic) SLW: havent played SM: Titanic Monarch Act 1 SF: havent played The other SF: havemt played
I'd call myself a semi-sonic fan, like my first sonic game was secret rings (i remember it looking like god's own special sonic game), and i fell in love with the sonic series, i played through Colors, generations, and then felt crushed when I tried forces. Then, when I finally heard of frontiers, I thought: "Is this the revival i've been waiting for?" and OH BOY WAS I IN FOR A SUPRISE. When I got into the first fight, I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I THOUGHT THAT I WAS PLAYING THE BEST GAME IN THE UNIVERSE!! Then, I tried to get adventure 1 and 2, which worked out. I beat adventure 2 (with struggle), and got stuck on the fishing minigames because i couldn't go a singular day without longing for the speedy levels that sonic had. (Note, I literally just beat adventure today, and I felt like a hypothetical child me playing adventure was bursting with happiness, and it reminded me of older me playing sonic frontiers.
5:23 honestly this is one of the best implementations of water in sonic cause you can travel higher with slope jumps. Cause if you fall here, you can spin dash on a hill and get back up there and it’s entirely intended. I love that shit.
Personally, I would say start a Speedway act three is my favorite level in the game as not only does it have plot relevance as it’s the big showdown against metal sonic, but it also allows you to maintain your momentum as long as you have a good reaction time
Among the games I've played, my favorite zones are; •Spring Yard Act 3 •Metropolis Act 3 •Ice Cap Act 2 •Speed Highway •Metal Harbor •Sweet Mountain Act 3 •Rooftop Run (Modern) •Capital City •4-2
I would have swapped the entirety of Sonic 4 episode 1 & 2 for the advance series cause there’s no way people consider 4 a main title but not those or even Rush
Hydrocity’s pronunciation… i think both are correct, and that has to do with the origin, use, and typical pronunciation of the word “polis”, whether paired with another word or not. Basically, a polis is a country-like governed city from… i think it was ancient rome? It was from sometime in that rough era. Now, pronounce studiopolis and metropolis while separating the two words that make up each. Then pair them up again, keep the pronunciation the same, and see how it sounds. By that logic, “hydrossity” would be the correct pronunciation, but isolating the two words in each pronunciation isn’t incorrect either.
To me, in sonic 2, my favorite zone is oil ocean zone. But I can agree that Chemical plant Zone is amazing. But the reason why I like oil ocean is due to the asthetic and the music. The some of the enemies are robotic versions of ocean animals as it shows that oil ocean is a more eggman infected part of the island. And the level is fun to slide around in the oil slides.
Were there any levels you would swap out on this list? Let me know your absolute favorite level of all time!

Plus, the level has a distinct “decent into the unknown” aesthetic that somehow makes the arctic look interesting. Kudos!
I honestly feel like Sonic 3 paired with Sonic and Knuckles is one of the best games ever made. Great stages. So much fun. It's just a masterpiece.

21:55 Whoa whoa dude, Hoobastank has at least three great hits. I like "Same Direction", "Out of Control" and of course, "The Reason".
Also Fist Bump was peformed by Doug Robb alone, without the rest of the band sadly.
Nothing like that classic 90's band that released their first album in 2001.
Sonic CD and confusing level design, a myth that simply won't die.
Hydrocity zone Act 2 also has the best music! Every time I go to that zone in Sonic 3, I always feel upbeat and ready to play it!
Sonic CD is so strange because it's a game about taking your time and exploring each level, not about going fast... while also being a Sonic game? I understand why it confounds Sonic fans, but personally it's still my favorite game in the series.
I agree with Chaomix on Stardust Act 2, but disagree with just act 2, the entire zone is god tier.
-City Escape theme starts
-Me:
Nostalgia overload! NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!!!
Seriously, though, I freaking love City Escape
Choosing the GOAT Power Plant instead of the usual choice of Egg Fleet is based af 👏👏👏
Personally, I'm french and the perk with being french is that no matter if it's written "Hydrocity" or "Hydro City", the pronounciation remains the same
3:50 The point of most Sonic CD levels are to be mazes, in order to hide the Robot Generators and Holograms.
My favorite Sonic Stages are a bit different~
Sonic 1 is Starlight, Sonic 2 is Aquatic Ruin, Sonic 3 is Casino Night, Sonic Knuckles is Sandopolis Act 2, Sonic Adventure is Lost World, Sonic Heroes is Hang Castle and Mystic Mansion, Sonic Mania is Press Garden.
One of my personal favorite Sonic levels is Red Mountain, especially Red Hot Skull.
Edit: it’s Desert Ruins, not Dusty Ruins.
Hydro city zone is the undisputed best water level in the mainline sonic games. Watching sonic run on water for the first time as a kid had me hyped.
I was so panicked the first time I hit the spring at the beggining of act 2 xD
Hydrocity
@@SmashtoonGamer who cares
Tidal Tempest has left the chat. although running on water is cool ngl
Seeing you put Desert Ruins Zone 1 as the best stage in Sonic: Lost World just brought up some serious PTSD of Mr. Pasquale and Bird Up lol
I noticed that prior to Heroes, your picks for the favorites matched the chosen levels for Generations.
Completely unintentional, just shows that Generations had good taste lol
Your thumbnail game is next level, bro.
It's a refreshing feeling of freedom after that soul crushing labyrinth zone!
Just to make you all aware, Hoobastank are NOT from the 90s. Sorry for any confusion Chaomix caused here
My favorite zone is Launch Base.
I absolutely love marble and labyrinth zone. Idk why I find the level design fun
Oh so there’s the hot take! I was waiting for this moment for so long.
It's good that the team behind Sonic was able to make the water zones less frustrating and more fun. Especially Hydrocity Zone.
-Ice cap zone from 3
-Flying battery from knuckles
-crisis city from 06
-rooftop run from generations
“Bu-but Sonic had a rough transition to 3D 🤓☝️”
if I had to choose the Sonic CD level that fits the description of "confusing and AI generated" the most it'd probably be Stardust Speedway 2 lol
the music that plays in mission street is peak creation
8:54 speed highway is actually SOO GOOD
The generations version of the song is such a banger (the classic version)
6:59 Funnily enough, you first showed my favorite classic Sonic level to this date and then switched to Sky Sanctuary
"Sonic is love, Sonic is life."

If you aren't Up and Down and All Around,
You aren't Rolling Around at the Speed of Sound
My favorite levels from all the games I’ve played and a brief summary of why I like them:
Sonic 1 Starlight Zone: Very underrated because you have to slog through Labyrinth to even get to it but it’s very satisfying once you get through Labyrinth.
And the Mach Speed Section is very cool
Sonic Unleashed Holoska/Cool Edge: Yup another cool ice level!
Sonic Colors Starlight Carnival: I music gets me hyped and I like the aesthetic
Sonic 4 Casino Street: I love Casino Levels!
Sonic Generations Classic City Escape: I love the little nod in the music to Endless Mine from Sonic 3 Competition Mode
Sonic Lost World: I haven’t played nor beat it.
Sonic Mania Mirage Saloon: I love the Wild West Vibes, Shooting yourself from a Gun and the Pinball Sections
Sonic Forces: Have not played or beat it.
Sonic Frontiers: I share the same opinion as Chaomix on that one.
You don't need to specify that you haven't beat a game if you haven't ever played it. If you've never played it, then we already know you haven't beat it lmao.
I love Palmtree Panic from Sonic CD, and I love Seaside Hill as that was my first Sonic level ever!
My liste :
Sonic 1 : Green Hill, Sonic 2 : Mystic cave, Sonic 3 : Hydro-city , Sonic & knuckles : Lava Reef , Sonic adventure : Lost world , Sonic adventure 2 : City escape , Sonic heroes : Frog forest, Sonic 06 : Kingdom Valley, Sonic unleashed : Jungle Joyride day , Sonic colours : Star Light carnival , Sonic génération : RooftupRun and Chemical plant moderne, Sonic lost world : Sky Road Zone 1 , Sonic Mania : Press Garden , Sonic Forces : Sunset heights, Sonic Frontiers : Open Zone - Ares , Cyber-espace: 2-6
Man your vids are always so fun to watch and the editing is great. Keep it up man
Chemical Plant Zone also has one of the best backround music.
When he mentioned Sky Sanctuary twice, I loved it. Sky Sanctuary is criminally underrated
Bro, Flying Battery is one of the most top tier levels of all time, and it's still a crime it wasn't remade in Generations.
I just think it’s funny that he chooses the classic levels used in Cyberspace stages (but I can definitely see why they were reused)
Tbf the main reason they were reused was because the assets have existed since Generations haha, but the sentiment's still pretty much true either way
I can’t respect a man who doesn’t have a problem with Sonic 4
For Sonic generation,I would personally Pick rooftop run act 2 and for Sonic unleashed I would have to go with either mazuri day act 1 or rooftop run act 1.
After all these years, I FINALLY got a proper explanation of what Sonic 3 and Knuckles is LOL
Sonic 1: green hill
Sonic 2: this one was a lot more difficult to chose so I guess Chemical plant.
Sonic 3: ice cap no compition
Sonic and knuckles: Sky sanctuary
Sonic adventure: windy valley
Sa2: green forest
Sonic heroes: egg fleet or frog forest
Shadow:DNP
o6:wave ocean
Unleashed: cool edge, rooftop run or arids sands
Colors:planet wisp of aquarium park
Gens: modern sea side hill
Lost world:DNP
forces: city park avenue
Mania: press garden
Frontiers best island: ouranos
Frontiers best cyberspace stage:4-2
That pic of the McDonald's toys was ultra nostalgic. That tails launcher occupied quite a bit of my time as a kid
19:07 "Dusty Ruins, Zone 1"
>Desert Ruins, Zone 1
Sonic 3 - Launch Base
S&K - Mushroom Hill
Sonic Heroes - Frog Forest
Mine for the classics:
S1: Starlight Act 3 (Fan favorite)
SCD: Stardust Speedway Act 2
S2: Casino Night Act 2 (HOT TAKE)
S3: Hydrocity Act 2
SK: Flying Battery Act 1
@10:12 I recently learned that the lead singer of Crush 40, Johnny Gioeli went to the same highschool as me. And this past weekend I COULDVE gone to one of his local concerts
I was gonna get my guitar signed by him and Jun Senoue, but I learned about it too late :(
This is why I keep playing Green Hill Zone Act 1 instead of beating Marble Zone Act 2
My personal favorits:
***Classic Era***
S: Spring Yard Act 2
SCD: Tidal Tempest Act 2
S2: Chemical Plant Act 1
S3: Ice Cap Act 1
S&K: Flying Battery Act 1
***Adventure Era***
SA: Windy Valley (probably a hot take)
SA2: if only sonic levels are allowed then City escape, if not then shadow's White Jungle due to the adrenaline of the time limit
SH: Egg Fleet
***Modern Era***
S06: havent played
SU: havent played
S4-P1: Mad Gear Act 1
S4-P2: White Park Act 1
SC: havent played
SG: Whisp Planet Act 1 (Classic Sonic)
SLW: havent played
SM: Titanic Monarch Act 1
SF: havent played
The other SF: havemt played
Fun fact: at the beginning of Sonic 2's development, the Chemical Plant Zone was at the end of the game
For colors I would choose aquarium park act 6 because in colors ultimate it looks so breathtaking
Personally, I would say start a Speedway act three is my favorite level in the game as not only does it have plot relevance as it’s the big showdown against metal sonic, but it also allows you to maintain your momentum as long as you have a good reaction time
Seeing spin dash in Sonic 1 feels like nails on a chalkboard to me for some reason.
Among the games I've played, my favorite zones are;
•Spring Yard Act 3
•Metropolis Act 3
•Ice Cap Act 2
•Speed Highway
•Metal Harbor
•Sweet Mountain Act 3
•Rooftop Run (Modern)
•Capital City
•4-2
Nice to see someone appreciate Metropolis Zone.
I love how closely your list matches "levels from Generations." Says a lot about why Grnerations was good.
I would have swapped the entirety of Sonic 4 episode 1 & 2 for the advance series cause there’s no way people consider 4 a main title but not those or even Rush
My favorite stage has to be Lava Reef, both Act 1 and Act 2 just because of the soundtrack and the level design is so good.
