If you think you ruined your putt. You ruined your putt. If you think you can fix your putt, you'll fix your putt. Confidence is the utmost important factor in putting.
Yeah. I had a bad event that “ruined” my putting. I’m in my head so much there’s times I almost forget how I grip this disc. Feel like I’m making progress again this week just worrying about fun again, as cliche as that sounds
I started playing in the early 00s. I have been playing on and off ever since. But I recently picked it up more regularly. I also love watching your videos. Keep it up.
Started playing in 2002 as a sophomore in high school. As much as I love my old school Innova, I would say the innovation in the 2010's and beyond has been awesome to witness!
I agree! started in 2006 and stopped in 2012. Just picked it up again and I cannot believe how amazing the newer molds fly. We never had under stable discs in the day and for the most part, I used 2 discs for a round. Now I have a full bag and I love every disc. They all fly so much different. Really blown away at the wild honey for distance.
@@jbholland2921same with me, time wise. I really had no clue what I was throwing back then. And I threw a bunch of overhand stuff too, since I was just used to ball sports. Reconnecting with the game has been awesome
I started playing at Plamann Park in the late 90’s and into the 00’s. I stopped playing from 2009-2015, then took another break from 2016-2024. My bag is a wild combination of discs from every era now. It’s been interesting to see how much the plastics have changed now that I’m getting back into the sport.
I started playing in maybe 2008 and a Champion Ape was my first driver. If only I knew lmao I didn’t play a whole lot for almost a decade after maybe 2013, but this past year disc golf has been huge for me. Plastic is a lot of fun. I think YT content (like this) has helped so much with growing the sport and engaging the base.
I started playing back in 1996 here in Sacramento, CA. My first 2 discs were an Innova DX Scorpion (which I still have) and an Innova DX Aviar which I gave back to my friend once I bought my own KC Pro Aviar a few years later. I am looking forward to playing more rounds in 2025 and playing more courses in my area that have popped up since I started playing. I do need to really get into a lot of the newer molds from the past 20 years, it's really cool to see how discs have evolved to where they are now. Keep up the great content
Started in the ‘80s with Frisbees. College courses were trees and utility poles. Got golf discs in ‘90s. Still have Aviar, Omega, Gazelle, B-17 (190 grams), Bearcat, Cyclone, DGA 3, X-clones, Omega, Shark, Stingray. Gazelle self destructed a couple of years ago.
The newest decade always has the best discs, because it has the discs from every passed decade. Thanks for helping me with hurricane Milton recovery. Keep up the good work, Staubinator!
Disc golf through the 2000s was a super exciting time. There was a bit of a speed war going on and every year there was a new, higher speed driver dropping. The Wraith is still my fave but the surge ss was my first bomber. I think the Destroyer kinda ended the speed wars and is still the landmark disc for the high-speed, good glide, big low-speed fade disc slot. Thanks, I love these. It's been too long since I've played an 80's only or 90's only round.
1st time I played was 1996. Only a few rounds and quit because I couldn't get the discs to fly. Played again in 2010. Only a few rounds and quit again. Same reason. 2020 (covid) I started playing again and have continued to play about twice a month since. Now I can actually bend and flex shots on purpose. And thanks to TH-cam channels like this, Jomez, Uli, Ezra, etc I have learned so much to better my game. Prime Burst Bounty is my favorite disc right now. Thanks!
This would be a good 4 player challenge on foundation. Each player can only bag a specific decade. most skilled player gets the 1980s, least skilled player gets modern discs
I started playing in 2022 as a 35 year old. I regret not discovering the sport sooner! Now I can't really push my body hard enough to get those big distance shots. But I'm finally hitting lines!
Have seen disks since the 80's i would have to say the current discs are my favorite. With so many more options than the basic innova. Loving mvp/axiom. The pixel is one of my favorite putters.
I started playing in 1996. The big distance driver was the Gazelle. My fairway/midrange was the Hawk, and was the Aviar Putt & Approach. My two favorite under stable disc at the time were the Cobra and Stingray.
The amount of locals going on about the fungi offerings in my local Maryland course Facebook group might make me want to go harvest mushrooms instead of antique glass from the course.
Just started a couple of years ago. So hard to tell. Bought a glow teebird from 2010 that thing i awesome. And I love my Darts bagging 3 of them. Btw this is a great video. Someone mentioned it, do a series of discs of the decade. Build a small bag with about 8-10 discs and compare each decade on the same course
First (and only) c 13:53 ourse I designed was in the late 80's. Granted, it was indoors (inside a college dorm) but it was a course. First birdie was on a sneaky shot out one window and in another. Those were the days!
My mom took me out to play when I was like 10-12 a couple times and wasn't the biggest fan but now that im 21 and started playing 2 years ago I've been having a blast I don't have much experience with discs outside the 2020s but I had an old Wraith for a bit and enjoyed that thing a lot
We had a local Discraft pro when I started playing that had the white proto nukes that they only gave out to team members and he let everyone throw them. I believe the nuke was the 2.5 cm rim answer for the Boss that came out the year prior. I remember them being fast but not as reliably stable as the Boss. He hooked me up with my first Zone around 2008-2009 too and boy was that a game changer.
The '90s were DOMINATED by Discraft's Cyclone. And this is coming from an OG Innova boy. Started playing in '83, but only a dozen rounds between '03-'20. Back at it again as an old man. (# is after the name)
That first putt with the 90's bag was perfect, you're just aimed wrong. Pause it right after release, your arm is it's natural angle and position, but your hand is pointed to the right. I think you've taught yourself to cut off your natural follow through because your body is lined up to the right. When you try and put power on a putt (ie, complete your follow through) you "yank" it (throw where your body is lined up).
Played in the 00’s a bit, worlds was right by my house one year. But didn’t play much for a solid decade. And even before that, was just overhanding my way around courses.
I started playing in either 2008 or 2009. My favorite discs at the time were Quest AT Technologies. I still have 2 ‘Raging Inferno’s in my bag. They are epic for forehand drives. Oh and I have ‘Crossfire’ still from Quest. The Crossfire’s a pretty stiff beaded putter. Speaking of putter beads though…I’m kinda in the same boat. I’ve picked up a bunch of Clash Discs lately (my new favorite company). I picked up a Hardy Fudge cos Gannon says he likes beaded putters. But I’ve been wanting to try the Candy.
Right around 2000. Champion plastic was pretty new as I understood it. Aviar, roc, Valkyrie, and a champ orc. At the historic Dexter DG course in Oregon. Great life choice to say the least! Only second to snowboarding
Best decade? I started playing in 2001. I want to say that so many amazing molds came out from 2001-2010. Most of those molds represent the majority of discs being thrown today. Just little tweaks and plastic variations. Having said that, I am partial to the 2010-2020 era. Just seems like making great molds even better with other companies adding their own tweaks and plastic blends. There is a bunch of experimentation happening in this era, some good, some bad, but it will shape something awesome for the future of disc golf.
The first round i played was back in like 2007. I played for like a year but all I threw was a dx wraith and I wanna say a magnet to put and that was it! Then I didn't play for like 10 years played a few round with a buddy and threw a champ mamba and an old aviar. Then I picked it up back up right before covid and have started taking it more seriously now playing tournaments and stuff. Still just a weekend warrior though! I am 40 years old and have a noodle arm but beats the heck out of sitting on the couch
I was part of the covid boom and started in 2020. For me best decade is 2000s just because the top discs are so good. Buzzz, Destroyer, firebird, zone? Those are all of my most used discs
I think I started playing around 2010, some of my family plays so I got a starter set pretty young (Leopard-Shark-Aviom). Only recently started working on my form and distance to throw better, rather than just trying things as I play 2-3 rounds a month and seeing if I throw any further over time.
This Spring I lost my Amoeba Stingray roller. Picked another one up on EBay for $40, but it was brand new and needed some beating. It's just sitting here looking pretty at the moment.
I started in the 90s I think the mid 2000s was the goat and turning point of disc's I got into mvp before it boomed I knew it was just a matter of time b4 they exploded between the trilogy and mvp/axiom before streamline came out were the ones that got me to want to improve my game more I'm glad I got to throw the oop disc's from mvp/axiom and got to try all the disc's as they came out now it boomed so much hard to keep up with the new ones
With thanksgiving coming up, I know you and your brother played Boulder last year. You should give Quaker’s Challenge some play this year. Hole 1 is a tough starting hole though. I usually start on hole 7.
Have you ever tried switching to spin? As a fellow no confidence putter, switching to pure spin kind of forced me to commit more and now I am not scared to putt anymore, and if I miss I know I can make the come backer. Its all mental and spinning helped me gain some confidence.
Started in late 2010’s decade in 2019. Started when I went to college where there was a full 18 hole course on campus. That’s where the addiction started
I started in 2010 didn’t take but really got into disc golf in 2013. Wasn’t a fan of most plastics until I found out about mvp and have thrown nothing but mvp since 2013
I like this video but you should do it at a more open course so we appreciate how the discs fly. Been playing maybe 15 years and my bag was all Innova and Discraft then but now there are so many great ones out there. Kinda a Kastaplast fanboy
I need help identifying a disc. I have a very old dx putter. The stamp is fading, but the stamp that is left says "dx" and a basket. It is also foldable. Is the actual name "dx" or something else? It flips over easily but controllably.
Hunter set up the 24hr live stream to sabotage your putt, confirmed. You were doing too well in videos and in the monthly matches so he had to pull out his trump card

Yeah. I had a bad event that “ruined” my putting. I’m in my head so much there’s times I almost forget how I grip this disc.

Introduced to disc golf in 1992. Just had one local course, no concrete tees, no baskets. Just toe boards and 4x4 posts in the ground.
Started playing in 2002 as a sophomore in high school. As much as I love my old school Innova, I would say the innovation in the 2010's and beyond has been awesome to witness!

Now I think we need a "Discs of the Decade" series with all the decades getting a dedicated video (assuming the discs are available).
The newest decade always has the best discs, because it has the discs from every passed decade. Thanks for helping me with hurricane Milton recovery. Keep up the good work, Staubinator!

2003 is when i started. Absolutely love how far the sport has come.
already liked so I'm commenting for the stingray!
Started mid 2010s, fav decade for sure the 90s. love those innova classics
Uh oh Trevor what did you do?! What happened with the form review video?! Lol
I started playing in 2022 as a 35 year old. I regret not discovering the sport sooner! Now I can't really push my body hard enough to get those big distance shots. But I'm finally hitting lines!
You really should have a judge in your bag
2000’s without a doubt, had the biggest jump in disc tech over the decade.
I started playing in the 2010's
it was 4/20/2017. the local course was half under water. still loved it so much I played for almost 100 days straight.
I had a Gazelle until recently. It disintegrated. I’ve stopped using the old discs.
@19:20 bruthaaa is that a chicken-of-the-woods mushroom chest-high on the tree trunk to the back-right of the basket?!?! harvest it!
The amount of locals going on about the fungi offerings in my local Maryland course Facebook group might make me want to go harvest mushrooms instead of antique glass from the course.

Glow DIsc related stuff like discs but also equipment. ie stuff to glow your discs but also how to glow a basket etc.

I started playing in either 2008 or 2009. My favorite discs at the time were Quest AT Technologies. I still have 2 ‘Raging Inferno’s in my bag. They are epic for forehand drives. I started playing in 2023 and my favorite brands are discmania, MVP, and birdie disc golf supply
2020's I throw a mixed bag of Innova, Discraft, and MVP.
I was part of the covid boom and started in 2020. For me best decade is 2000s just because the top discs are so good. Buzzz, Destroyer, firebird, zone? Those are all of my most used discs

I want to leave a like for the stingray as I still, to this day have never thrown one, but It's my most wanted disc.

The 2010s were very strong, but the highest highs of the 90s and 2000s were crazy good.
I also started in 2011 and have a slight bias.
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you
With thanksgiving coming up, I know you and your brother played Boulder last year. You should give Quaker’s Challenge some play this year. Hole 1 is a tough starting hole though. I usually start on hole 7.
A bag with 1 disc from each speed would be most enjoyable.
I think 2000s-2010s have the best discs. I started playing early 2019 pre Covid.
Started in 22, did play in the 80s with frisbees and throwing at tress
I just started playing and I'm hooked
Have you ever tried switching to spin? As a fellow no confidence putter, switching to pure spin kind of forced me to commit more and now I am not scared to putt anymore, and if I miss I know I can make the come backer. Its all mental and spinning helped me gain some confidence.
I got a user starfire. Loved that disc. Wish they still made it
I started playing in 1998 and threw a Stingray Discraft XL a Cyclone, Cyclone 2 ,Stratus , X Clone.
Started in late 2010’s decade in 2019. Started when I went to college where there was a full 18 hole course on campus. That’s where the addiction started
You should do 5 generations of discs thrown by 5 generation of disc golfers.
Started playing in 2007. First disc I bought was an Innova ape.
I was really hoping for the glitch in the 2020's!
I started in 2010 didn’t take but really got into disc golf in 2013. Wasn’t a fan of most plastics until I found out about mvp and have thrown nothing but mvp since 2013
Started playing in 2010 with a Innova starter kit and some other innova discs the rhyno leopard invader and a stingray
Started in high school back in 2009, a friend in our group got a Nuke and everyone hated how thick the rim was 😂
I want to see you do a round with 3 or so discs from brands like discraft, Innova, MVP, and Trilogy and see which one you like most
I mean, he did just do a top 100 discs...
Started 2002-2003. Innova XD , DX Shark, and Millennium JLS
Love my Omega super soft
It would be fun to see a Konner and you bag swap
1st time I played was in 1995 then really started playing in 02
Nice shirt there
Nice haircut!
What up big trev!
I went to Glenvar high school!!!
If you wanted to send that AJ Teebird my way I wouldn’t be too upset
go pack go
Nah man I started playing in the 2023’s. And there’s only one of those.
2021 firebird
2004!
I like this video but you should do it at a more open course so we appreciate how the discs fly. Been playing maybe 15 years and my bag was all Innova and Discraft then but now there are so many great ones out there. Kinda a Kastaplast fanboy
For me who has never thrown any disc at all. So just based on looks of flight! Give me P2, Passion and Destroyer
I want that[ pixel Trevor I need to add it to your rainmakers I got from you last year😂
Hate to have to be like number 421, but here we are.
Hey Trevor. If you e er want to get rid of that firebird hit me up. I've been looking for a super beat in one.
I started playing waaaaaay back in June of 2023
Looks like a 2021 sexton. They're the straightest sexton out of the box already so that thing is borderline a Valkyrie at that point, lol.
I'm technically a covid disc golfer lol but I don't consider that the reason I started 😂 summer of 2020 for me
great vid idea
I started playing in 1988. 36 years ago. I just had to stop playing this year. I have arthritis all over. Makes disc golf impossible.
2000's I started in 07 I'm 32 coming back after 13 years after an assault and subsequent ankle injury
where is the zone trev. it litteraly changed the aproach game
I need help identifying a disc. I have a very old dx putter. The stamp is fading, but the stamp that is left says "dx" and a basket. It is also foldable. Is the actual name "dx" or something else? It flips over easily but controllably.
It's probably a xero old Innova putter like a polecat I had one last year but instead I got a birdie disc
1980's
Isnt that a 2021 firebird?
Yep
Should have thrown all three discs on each hole and played them all out.
I didn’t start playing until 2020
USDGC vid
FYI the link for the new shirt is broken!
Hunter set up the 24hr live stream to sabotage your putt, confirmed. You were doing too well in videos and in the monthly matches so he had to pull out his trump card
Then started back up in 2019
this i think is a 2016. almost, just 5 years off
