You hit home….I have so many unpacked feelings with my mom and our relationship. Yesterday was the first time I was able to open up to a therapist and express my feelings without judgment. ❤️
Same…we haven’t spoken in almost 3 years over something so dumb and petty (on her end and I’m always the bigger person so I’m NOT being this time) I suggested we see a therapist and she shut it down drastically…now it’s awkward at family gatherings cause we don’t speak and they know what’s up now.

All I can say is wow. This was so insightful. I love how candid you’re being with us and yourself. It’s often so easy to shift the blame and not take accountability for ourselves, especially when someone has had a negative impact on our self efficacy. However, once we reach adulthood it is up to each of us to curate the lives we want and to change those things within us we don’t like. Thanks so much for sharing this. It was very brave and there are many who can relate to you.

As a viewer I find that when a person doesn’t flex or show how excited they are for moments ( like the car buying process), that’s when I feel uncomfortable. We should be happy and brag! Showing your emotions to me is always more fulfilling to watch because I can feel how those moment made me feel, or if I haven’t experienced the moment, how much I want to feel that joy, which motivates me even more! Show that s*** girl!!! We love it!
Wow…everything you expressed about gratitude & how you can work hard but you need God in your corner resonated with me. I’ve been feeling frustrated lately with some things, but this reminded me to bask in gratitude because God has actually been coming through for me a lot in many areas. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think we sometimes forget that physical abuse people can heal from, but emotional abuse takes So much longer though overcome. I started keeping a journal with five things to be grateful for in a sense grown to 25 things, but I did that to help me take my mind off the negative things that I encounter every day. I then began to keep an anger journal so I could just get it out, and then I added a spiritual journal because I wanted to see growth in myself. Writing things down. Help me get them out of my head because I have a tendency to overthink things. You're on the right path and by sharing your story, you're helping all of us to stay on our right path.

But the initial portion did everything it needed to do for my mental health to unpack for the day, and it inspired me to have a heart posture of gratitude in regards to all God has done for me. It’s so easy to get caught up in everything going on in the world, but when you set your eyes on Him and really realize how blessed you are, it’s top tier! You “flexing & bragging” to other people is literally just you bragging on all God is doing in, through, and for you. The real ones are celebrating your wins with you, it’s not your job to babysit the people with unresolved trauma that don’t want to see you be grateful and have what you have. Having and expressing Gratitude is SO important, I try to practice and preach gratitude All the time! Its put everything hurdle and obstacle in perspective for you . Also, living in the present and taking things day by day and only planning when you actually need to and can. Things will never go perfectly to your plan so live in the present and take it a step at a time .
