Biggest motivation for transfers I see around me is when people join our community guild, and they want to try wvw so they transfer to where most our wvw activity occurs. But those are not visible on gw2mists. I am talking about super casuals who are new with fresh credit card for transfer fee.
Unironically alliances could help with matchmaking and match balance but idk what metrics anet is going to use to create balanced servers.Also we need indo vod review more than ever xdd
Just numbers don't matter. It is good players and guild which matter. And since ever most good players and guilds always stack on a few servers. At the same time these players whine about "no content".
Players that claim to want competition, are actually afraid of leaving their server where their blobs carry each other, and feel panic from the idea of swapping to a random server to fight against good teams just by themselves.
People play with who they want, think of it like this ronaldo won’t join a Sunday pug football team. Also why would any player go to another server if they are playing with the same people for years.
The population doesnt really matter anymore when the game mode still looks the same for 10+ years and cannot recruit new blood that stays around. Why would a PvE player play WvW? rewards and skins? nah PvE got the better skins/rewards and wvw skins are uglier than a rotten corpse. PvP players? they would be bored to death farming the daily farmers and the randoms trying to find a tag to follow. Anet could never fill a damn treasure chest with exciting loot and they could never put decent rewards in WvW that would make a none WvW addict want to jump in for it and cannot give players a reason to want to engage in the game mode and want to win. ok easy fix is once a month exchange an equipment template/exclusive skin from a wvw vendor if you manage to score xyz number of kills. Do the devs and management want to make a better game? I hope so. Do I trust them? fuck no. Do I trust them to fuck things up? yes, without fail. so until they wake up and fix the game, the wvw seagulls will just keep migrating every month to stack a new link and nothing is wrong with wanting to play with likeminded players but then you got Joe and Jane who follow you and your guild on the FL and they will transfer with you before population re-calc on monday cuz fuck you guys we wont tell you our population criterions, we just do it manually at random cuz LOL we suck. Current devs and management at Anet would not be able to define "fun" if you were to ask them. So in the end, I recommend Anet devs play another game, learn what makes an rpg fun then come back. No shame in it, even FF14 devs play other games right?
