I promise you Stevie, your last ride wasn't bad from a fan perspective. Seeing your character get his comeuppance was all we saw, and it was satisfying. Undertaker landing on his butt added to the spot in my opinion. It looked more impactful.
From a fan perspective it looked great. Also Stevie is TALL. PERHAPS one of the tallest to take the last ride
@@TheFailedmessiah Probably yea, bar Test
And with Taker falling like he did just made it seem like he put more oomph into it.
Stevie is so hard on himself. I don’t know him but it feels like watching a friend beat up on themselves when you know they’re good at what they do.
This last ride gave the impression the Undertaker was drilling him so hard that he fell over. I always thought it looked realy good!
As a fan it looked great. Especially with how tall Stevie is. Nunzio is tiny. Xpac is also very light and shorter than Stevie also Christian isn't very big either. Did Taker ever give KANE the last ride? Or Brock?
@@TheFailedmessiah Hmm...Kane don't think so but he may well have done to Brock.
Great to see Stevie having a lot of success post wrestling. Such a down to earth honest guy. Saw him wrestling in Birmingham in 2002 at a live show which was just before the plane ride from hell I believe. He was in the hardcore title match.
I think he’s finding his niche. Outside of his early work with Raven his character was pretty generic and didn’t fit
I was never a fan. I didn’t watch too much wrestling, but I was young and thought right to censor is what made wrestling less fun lol. No more thongs? Get outta here, Stevie.
But yeah he’s been all over my TH-cam algorithm for like a month and he’s cool to listen to. Seems like an alright dude
Not to dump on the analysis, but of course the guys who weigh under 210 are going to take the best power bombs. 😏
Tbh Undertaker falling backwards onto his bum. Made it look like he put more power into it than usual.
I remember watching it live as a kid and thinking that
Nunzio's last ride was amazing. I still remember that last ride plus the SPEAR from Goldberg.
Yours looked great, and Undertaker falling back at the end made it look super impactful
Love the smack down Twix replay Picture in Picture
It looked ok. The little bit of a struggle makes it look more real.
I dont think it was that bad
I remember Lil Guido taking that Last Ride. One of the funniest bumps ever. He was such a great character and in ring performer.
Excellent talk thru Stevie!! Keep up the good work brother!
Stevie considers this to be terrible, yet it’s nothing compared to the embarrassing botches seen on a regular basis at AEW
I don't know what he's on about it looked great.
I thought this was going to be a straight up botch, looked fantastic especially the camera shot once Stevie got to his shoulders. I get being disappointed in not giving someone like Taker your best and causing him to take a mini bump but visually it looked sick
8:20 Nunzio is lucky he didn't get the thong thing happen like Catus Jack did to H 😂😂
Yeah, they don't all wear cups
Stevie can you talk about crash holly ? The details about his death has always been mysterious. Read he took pills and alcohol for sucide at your house. Some reports say he choked on his vommit
Id love to see Stevie on takers podcast so they could talk about this as id imagine taker does not even consider this the worst or even close to it
That was one heck of a wedgey Nunzio took there man.
Dude, it looks absolutely splendid to me. It's cool you wanna improve it, but do'n't beat yourself up about this. You're unequivocally the man Stevie!
No, he’s absolutely right that it looks pretty terrible.
I didn't think it was any worse than any others really.
Steve is a good guy
I think Matt Hardy took a pretty good last ride as well. I think he was the first one to sell it by slowly sitting up after bumping and then just slowly rolling over onto the mat after
I’m a little new to Stevie’s analysis of moves, and I don’t think I’ve seen one archived, but I have always wondered how Rob Van Dam bounced and took the additional back bump off of Tommy Dreamer’s piledriver. That would be an interesting analysis methinks. 👍
To use weightlifting terminology - as somebody who has never lifted a 20kg barbell in their life - I'd liken this manoeuvre to a power assisted "clean and jerk", far more difficult for taller athletes to carry out upon the "receiver" and requiring" great upper and lower body strength from both, along with balance during those critical seconds before the "press and drop". As others have commented, from a viewer's vantage point it looked spectacular and the only negative aspect to its flawed execution was the increased risk of injury that it posed to you both, which I find very hard to wholly blame you for. The heaviest wrestler that I ever saw taker "send" on their the Last ride was a near 300lb Test, and that appeared considerably more dangerous...albeit every bit as spellbinding to the captivated fans! There's a clip off TH-cam to which I tried to post a link but my post was instantly deleted. So try running a Google search.
Stevie as a fan I'll say this for a true wrestling fan a perfect match is never full of perfectly perfected moves wrestling should be rough and rugged looking with what people call botches the current crop of wrestlers just need to reduce tha and that there is a way to make the sloppy safe .... the din it for 100 years before all these matches now that are flip here flip their 20 million false finishes with devastating moves to end in a roll up ... coming from a fan from the attitude era I find myself watching old wrestling tapes from well before I was born and enjoying it more than most of the modern product and no I'm not just a wwe fan either I'm a wrestling fan if aew actually produces something interesting I'd pay attention to it same with tna .... I. Actually enjoying the tna nxt crossovers and that's the stuff I feel wrestling needs as a whole I feel as a fan and it would be nice to see all wrestling companies working together (would never happen but would be nice ) it would be interesting to see say all the major world promotions do an interpromotinal tournament just to see how it would be booked but again tha would never happen and I think the thna x cup was the closest we ever got to that
Honestly, when I saw this live, I just thought that Taker gave him and extra thump on the slam part because Stevie was a heel and that's why Taker went back. I didn't see or think of this as a botch. It looked good because Right To Censor was so annoying when they were on TV.
Ironically, I'm rewatching older WWF stuff and I just watched this episode last night, I saw it and went...Oh Stevie LOL
I can't imagine taking the bumps and bruises in a match. Then jumping into a car traveling to the next city. A guys body would cramp and get stiff. Football players get iced down, massages and whirlpools to recover from a game
Hi Stevie! This is just a minor suggestion. I know you love having this come across as a show. I was wondering if you’ve ever thought about using a wireless mic?
Or are the headphones strictly so you can hear James? Maybe you could get an ear bud. It’s the not the biggest deal. I just thought it might help with how well your production has been looking.
Great technical breakdown on the physical movements that go into bumping and wrestling. A lot of young and aspiring wrestlers should watch these videos and take notes.
How on Earth do you not take a mega-wedgie getting lifted by your trunks like that ? That was always my question . It seems like your trunks would turn into a thong with the waist being halfway up your back LOL !!!!
STEVIE MY DUDE YOU ARE WAYBTO HARD ON YOURSELF. Part of that was Takers fault
Steven Richard’s was jacked, stacked, succulent and dense during this period. I bet he was horsing weight around in the gym
Technically it may have been a little off but still think it works and looked great, Impactful with taker going down
Actually looked like he bombed you so hard that even he fell because of how powerful it was 🤷🏼♂️
Would love you to do a video that is about Christian somehow. Such an underrated wrestler.
i know you only posted Stevie but I'm gonna nag you till you start doing gaming videos :) day 2 of annoying Stevie till he makes a gaming channel
One of the best last rides. The fall over impact looked devastating.
I'm sure Steve found out it was his fault afterwards Mark would of give him shit about his mess up.
You are a big guy, man. Understandable.
Christian is my favourite smaller wrestler and one of my all time favourites
When he fell back I thought it made it look vicious.
They had Christian taking the last ride on Takers titantron.
😅 it'll be interesting to see if anyone else knocked undertaker on his ass like you. Stevie love the videos❤
this also shows how crazy strong undertaker was
Do a vid with Victoria … y’all looked great together
His ass de orbiting undertaker hahahaha
i thought this last ride looked really good, he had you up so high.
Taka took the best last ride in my opinion
Did you guys ever practice it?
HBK took the best last ride imo
My sympathies to Taker.
Steve Regal took it the worst.
Stevie go splat 😂😂😂😂
9:45 Chris Benoit
✌🏼 ha haaa ✌🏼
Raw is War was such a terrible name. Warzone worked though
Nah they both worked together
There were more than 3 guys in the Right to Censor group? I only recall Stevie, Godfather, Bull Buchanen, and Ivory. Who else was in there?
Val Venis
Val venis
Val venis was and at the end was blackmon. From what I remember anyways. Take t with a grain of salt.
I always called it the "Last Wedgie"
Not intending on being weird or sus. I exercise a bit myself. Maybe it's the angle of the photo at the start but you genuinely look in better shape in 2024 then 2001
Slimmer but healthy
Heard you had some health problems recently awesome to see you're kicking a**
Thank you for your part in my childhood watching wrestling
He's previously spoke about being in a bad mental state and letting his weight get out of control during that time period.
Stevie, could you do a video of how the voice projection in the ring could effect you negatively and changes you could make linguistically? Vince sounds awful
Vince is 79 years old and averaged 3 hours of sleep per night for 40 years. What do you expect?
@@jasonbink5276 ruthless bedwettinggggggg
These vids are amazing ......move analysis ......Next level ❤
Lol the white socks crack me up 😂
Before this video even started I had Christian in my head.
Lucky it wasn't kevin Nash the quad extentions going on
Keys quad would have popped out
I think it was Chris Jericho that did that thing with the arms James was talking about if I’m not mistaken.
You are on TH-cam to educate us.Please stop being such a coward towards the copyright when it doesn't apply
Stevie just didn't know how to work.
What? 😅
He was out of shape at this time.
