I'm thinking of building something similar in the future with the BMW V10 5.0, some kind of neoclassic. But I think I will start building a kart to learn some basics and then step up.

That's a great motor, Infact BMW v10 was one of the motors I considered.
I subscribed because I know It could take a lot of time and work until the next video comes up, but it seams like you're not the kind of person that leaves a project down I will wait patiently the next update 🤣🔧💪
Dealing through few personal stuff and a job change, I am working through this project in the background and the next video will be on the chassis build, will be posting very soon.

Looking forward to this project as well. But what made you change your mind about the earlier project?
Mainly two things, one is the shape of the Porsche boxster engine i am using, as its more wide than tall, it doesn't do justice to the cigar shaped look of the 1960's era cars. Other main consideration was this project is supposed to teach me everything i want to learn and it includes turbo set up and carbon fiber work. so i think 1980s era is the best fit for what i want to do. lastly after 1980s the formula tech has gone way beyond what some one can achieve in their garage. so 1986 lotus 98t is the best possible in-terms of what i can try build and possibly achieve. I will go way in depth on this topic in my coming videos.
Also, please update us on how the garage and build are going!!

The handle on the lathe should work reversed. When you pull up, should turn toward you.

@@Ultimab I'm a machinist and I pull up on the handle when I turn on the lathe. You can ask questions, if you need help. I have an Acra milling machine(10x50 table size, a bigger bridgeport style) and a Southbend 1440 lathe. When you will be back with the build? It looks very promising what you have started here. Eventually, I will start something similar myself, more like a Locost style car.

If you have already purchased tyres and won't be using them for a while then I would suggest you keep them in a cool dry place away from daylight or and other UV light. This will help preserve the tyres because they will degrade over time and loose some of their grip. I know of someone who had a set of tyres stacked on a rack inside his transporter which had a sky light in it. The tyres stayed in the rack for a long period of time and were exposed to the sunlight and when he put them on the car he kept spinning off on slow corners. He came to find the sunlight had made the tyres loose some grip on one side while the other side was ok, that's why he was spinning off on the slow corners but not the fast corners.
Ya they are stored in a dark cool place and yes you are right these race tires have heat cycles and after enough heat into the tires they harden and there by loose their grip.

Nice garage mate, this video shows some good progress, but its been 3 months already after this video, already a fan of your work and becoming anxious, please provide us with an update. Your new plans are even more ambitious than your previous one to build the flat 6 brabham bt19 style one, but honestly I wouldn't be one bit disappointed to be proved wrong in this matter.
I was dealing with some personal stuff, my dog's death and new job. But I have been doing the work just not posting it. But I will be get back to posting on TH-cam very soon, next video will be sure out in under two weeks. thanks for the patience and support.
