Federer didn’t care at all. He knew he would win.

People say Federer looked disinterested and not tensed enough in the game, I just see he tried to keep in a stable status consistently and calmly in the whole match, just like what he always did against many other opponents. One hand, Chiudinelli was his old friend, he could not behave too excited even winning. And you have to say that Chiudinelli played really really well in this match with highly aggressiveness and many winners, which made Fed really couldn't have many good ways to return shot. That's why he lost some points easily and looked like disinterested here, he just had no method to return those great winners sometimes.

NIce match but it felt like federer was playing at 60% here
He was so sloppy during the 1st quarter of 2011, its why i say 'prime fed' ended after 09... The consistency was just completely gone.
Edit* I actually bought this white and yellow Fed shirt from ebay hehe

This must have been a very strange match for Fed, Sash. He & Chiudinelli go *way back,* to when they were 7 year-olds playing tennis in Basel's Old Boys' Club and hanging out together all day long. Can't have been easy at all to play Marco.

He was also childhood friends with Marco. Probably wasn't easy to play a close friend. Also yeah, I believe his prime ended during the AO 2010 final. That was the last time he was consistently brilliant. He had flashes of brilliance through the next decade, but he was never consistently the same

Prime Fed ended after AO 2010 I reckon.

@@thesoccergod thanks for all your great comments about Roger. 2 questions from me do you think(i for sure do) that the French open final would have been there for the taking had he won that first set?
And secondly could Roger have beaten Rafa in the US Open 2011 final had he converted those MP against Novak?

I've never seen Fed more disinterested in a match than this. Wonder what happened.
Crazy how he still won even tho he was playing max like 40%

Marco & he go back to when they were 7-8 years old. They hung out together all the time, on & off the tennis court. So it must have been hard for Fed to play the match with intensity.
