One tip for the spray painting in Jet Set Radio. Don't let go of the stick after each part, keep it pushed in the direction the first move ends in as it links into the next one and so on. Much easier to get them to work and it feels much better as well.
meppi64 Indeed, especially if you want to use Yoyo (and eventually Goji) to unlock the top rewards, as their patterns are the most complicated, as befits the high points it earns.
The PS3 version of Zoe 2 used to be bad until Konami paid Hexadrive to fix it, giving it a sizable patch. This is what the PS4 version is also based on.
Should I work today or just let Game Sack roll? I also wanted to say that I was really excited to see that this episode was 29 hours only to shake my head and realize it was but 29 minutes. The pacing and entertainment factor in your videos are always great, Joe. Love it.
ZOE2 didn't run quite as well before it was entirely re-coded by HexaDrive (PS3 HD version) so be sure to get the update if you're going to play that one. Otherwise it's also out on PS4 and is VR/4K compatible!
Yeah. I don't want to sound like a fanboy but he never mentions the 360 version. Which was 60 fps and it's also backwards compatible. I think many people watching the video would like to know that

There is ONE feature that the Dreamcast version of Jet Grind/Set Radio have that didn't make it to the re-release. One of my favorite features. The ability to upload your own artwork and have it download into the game so you can spray your own illustrations throughout the city. Me and my brothers are artists, and we was loving that! My younger brother is a graffiti artist, my older brother is a comic book artist, and I'm an animation artist. And we spread our art all over those digital cities! lol.

I'm not sure what the biggest screen Gamesack has been on, but my 120" in my living room lives for Gamesack Sunday nights. Theater style treatment, thanks for making the best show on youtube Joe!
Make it widescreen by cropping, add a blur filter, redo any text assets to be 4K text over the blurred/upscaled/cropped video, and remix the soundtrack to 5.1 with some additional instruments here and there.
Both Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition and Grandia HD (includes both Grandia 1 and 2) are something that I just have to mention when it comes to HD remakes.
You know Joe, you wouldn't injure yourself so frequently in these post segments so often if you had Dave there. He'd be the one injuring you, which would free your time up to play more Greendog on the Sega Genesis!
HD Remasters are great due to these reasons in my personal opinion: -Mostly released as a collections. -Mostly the visuals & sounds are improved. -Mostly the known issues in OG release is fixed. -Better performance. -Some contains tweaks for limited playtime guys. -Playable on current gen. -Nostalgic.
I like your goofy charisma, and consistent showcasing of interesting games. Game Sack has definitely become my favorite gaming channel. Keep up the great work!
Man out of many gaming channels here Game Sack has the feel of an actual videogame channel. Joe(and Dave) doesn't waste time talking nonsense he just dives right into the games giving us great info about them. It feels like the old Gamepro TV sort of thing.

its interesting about Twilight Princess, because the very basic widescreen hack setting on a modded Gamecube or Wii outputs the game in perfect non-stretched progressive 16:9 with no problem whatsoever. the game doesn't even need to be altered in any way, it basically just sets a couple flags to widen the view, and it adjusts the HUD and fills the screen even better than the Wii version. theres absolutely no reason they couldn't have done it on the gamecube version lol.

I gotta say I love had remasters if it is a game that the graphics didn’t hold up or had major flaws that get fixed. For me it’s about those quality of life features that are incorporated
Personally my favorite remaster is the ICO/Shadow Of The Colossus Collection. Improved framerate, draw distance, and visuals all-around. And I actually prefer it overt the PS4 remake because the PS3 version preserves the original visual feel.
Under Defeat HD for the 360 is my favourite shoot em up, partially because I can actually complete it and yeah I agree, the soundtrack is awesome! Keep it up Joe, great work!
I've beaten Jet Set many of times, since I was only 19 when the DC came out and I moved to a location where I didn't have cable television, or even broadband at the time! I only had about 6 DC titles and I made sure to beat them time and time again. Sonic Adventures, Soul Calibur, Tony Hawk, and Jet Set were my go-to's and I'll always have a special spot for them.
FYI for the future, Joe: you can turn off vibration directly from the PS3 dashboard. Settings > Accessory settings > turn off vibration. And the same goes for all the xbox and the PS4. I hate vibration so I always turn it off on everything.
Resident Evil HD remaster is one of the best games I have ever played. And so good replayability. It is on that vague top 10 list that is impossible to decide what is included on.
I got it a few months back for Switch. I need to actually play it, I managed to get stuck like 20 mins in and don't know where to go or what to do. I also got Resident Evil 4 and that's far easier and simpler, so been actually playing that one. But I missed the original one back in the PS1 era, never got around to getting it, so need to give it a proper go

Hey Gamesack loved the video. Just FYI if you are talking about seeing less graphics from a game when going to HD....that is called cropping in. Love your channel!
You didn't mention the VR re-release of ZOE 2, as well as it's running better on the PS3 thanks to another developer, HedaDrive, taking over High Voltage 😉
Jet Set Radio HD is the best version of the game. It misses 2 or 3 songs but has all of the songs of all region versions combined so it ends up with the biggest soundtrack.
All the music in Jet Set Radio (at least for the Android & Steam versions) have all of the music intact so Dragula is there. This is the one of the few game series I keep coming back to over and over again. I wish they would bring out a remastered version of Jet Set Radio Future as well.
Laser cube will be a great addition to the bathroom when preforming on the crapper and attempting to cream my hemorrhoids while zapping them simultaneously.
13:00 If you're wondering if there ever was a reticle on the Gamecube version, there isn't any, not to my knowledge at least. Take it from someone who had this game on the Gamecube back when the Wii was still fresh, since we didn't have a Wii until around summer of 2007.
I'm all for HD updates to older games -- it helps to preserve older software, it's nice seeing newer display technology supported, and it's sometimes nice to have games with annoying flaws fixed.
I was expecting you to talk about Shenmue 1 & 2 remaster on the PS4, Xbox One and PC Joe. With you being an absolute fanatic for those games as well as the highly anticipated conclusion releasing this November you really should of gotten the remaster and discuss in full detail for this episode. I myself have already beaten both games as well as platinum trophied both games btw. Next discuss Shenmue 1 & 2 remaster and do before Shenmue iii comes out this fall.
You know how Joe always pushes the volume slider up on the Genesis? I wish he would've tucked the controller wire into the slot when he was showing the Dreamcast. Also, I'm so happy Joe still mentions whether a game has a physical release or not. Just when I was wondering if Jet Set Radio HD got a disc version on PS3, Joe says they never made one. Thanks for that.
Lol and here I thought I was the only one that enjoyed the Tank controls on the early Resident Evil games. I also can't imagine playing the early games any other way and I quite enjoy it as it's a unique feeling experience. That's the best way I can think to describe it. I particularly like the way it feels when using the knife with the tank controls.
Love the vids. Just a heads up, a "high pass filter" doesn't add discrete bass to a system. Specifically a crossover would do this, which uses a high pass filter, which sends a 'high pass filtered' signal to the 'high' speakers. It let's the HIGHS pass instead of trying to produce them at the sub.
Comix Zone? But more or less all old CD based games have the soundtrack included on the disc though. But for "Bonus" stand alone CD with music I do not know, but for now I only remember Comix Zone. And I still have the CD that came with it.
Hell, I freaking LOVE remakes of my favorite games! They only make the game even better and more accessible for newer gamers. What could possibly be considered negative about them when done right?
Hey Joe, I hate rumble too. Option 1: You can disable it for all games from the PS3 main menu, Option 2: you can use an original sixaxis controller with no vibration. They are my preferred joypads coz they're lighter. Option 3: If you don't have one you can open up your dualshock controller and rip out the rumble stuff! You're welcome
I feel like the HD Twilight Princess got the most love from Nintendo. The Wolf Link amiibo is great in general, but it unlocks a new dungeon that you fight in only in wolf form. Plus you can save your data from TP to it and load in Wolf Link into Breath of The Wild with his health matching what your hearts were at in TP.
I'm still waiting for the "Mortal Kombat HD Kollection"... though I doubt we'll see it, at this point. Also wouldn't mind seeing the first two "DOOM" games given the ol' HD treatment... hell, even "DOOM 64"!
I really like that companies are doing HD or even porting to newer consoles. Going back to older games when you've been playing a newer system can make them look so bad even though the gameplay is great. So it can deter you from the experience. Being able to play it at a current Gen standard is a dream in some cases. A remake can also inject capital into studios for future development or show them that there is still life left in older franchises. If done right an HD remake is a thing of beauty.
As for your ending speech, none of these games are Remakes, they are all Remasters/Enhanced ports of the original games. A remake means it's an entirely new game from the ground up. Either way, I love well done remasters. It let's us enjoy older games on modern systems, and allows devs to fix issues in the original releases, such as frame rates, bugs and glitches. Though I admit, sometimes they fix fun little bugs like the infinite ammo in RE-Make.

I love SACKIN' on a Sunday!!! Thanks for the new vid, Joebot
Off topic but how the hell have I only just now noticed rage racer in the intro. I love that game.
Twilight Princess actually released on the Wii first. Nov. 18th, Wii's launch day. The Gamecube version released a couple of weeks later in December.
Nnnnoooo, Dave didn't come back like he did the last time.
I'm sure he'll pop up from time to time, and that'll make his appearances all the sweeter.
Good thing. Opens them to a new audience and keeps them alive.
Enjoyed as usual. Dude, keep the wink after every episode, plz. Its fitting for some reason, lol. Couldn't help chuckling.
I think it's a great idea and they are able to fix and add things they couldn't before.
sega? check. nintendo? check. capcom? check. konami? check. excellent taste my good sir, you are a man of culture
