    Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan, is a fantastic actress. It's definitely just Bo's personality. Sackhoff's first big role was in Battlestar Galatica (2005) as Starbuck. I know you've got the miniseries already, so you should check it out.

    I'm Swedish. The Mandalorian song is taken from an old legendary Swedish children's film/Fantasy called in Swedish Ronja Rövardotter from 1984. It was written by the legendary children's book author Astrid Lindgren (She who wrote Pippi Longstocking). Ludwig Göransson, who made this song for The Mandalorian, took parts of the Ronja song and made it a bit cowboy-ish, which I like.

    It's been talked a lot on YT commentators and online how this season of the Mandalorian has been an allegory to the Tribes of Israel and reclaiming the Promised Land. Hence why the episode "The Spies" is more about "the spies" sent for land in which the Tribes could settle. Not necessarily two spies which was what everyone was thinking.

    The reason why this season feels off to some people is that part of this season was intended to set up the "Rangers Of The New Republic" series. That series was scrapped after they let Gina Carano go because Cara Dune was supposed to be a big part of that series. So they had to rework this season a bit since it had been written previous to that show being cancelled.

    Episode 5 is definitely one of my favorites of this season. Paz gained a new level of respect for Din and Bo. He caught me off-guard for a moment during the bonfire meeting, but then he reminded me that they saved his son Ragnar. Then the mission to save Nevarro was an absolute success, and they all looked like rockstars doing so.
    As for episode 6, I remember hearing Christopher Lloyd would appear, but I never expected to see Jack Black and Lizzo. And I definitely didn’t expect Din to say Kuill’s catchphrase “I have spoken.”
    Episode 7 was one of my favorite episodes of this season, but I’m definitely sad about Paz’s sacrifice. His role is one of the highlights of this season, and his final deed was just as impacting as those of Kuill, IG-11, Tala, Ned-B, and our unsung heroes of Rogue One. This is the Way, and yes I’ve spoken.
    At least Bo finally exacted her revenge on Moff Gideon. She got to let out her inner rage.
    As for IG-11, I’m glad he’s back and with a much needed upgrade. Taika Waititi is always a win. He’s working on his own Star Wars film.
    The next live-action series is Ahsoka. It’ll arrive this August with 8 episodes.
    Next year we’re getting a second season of Andor as well as a new series called The Acolyte.

    Pedro was wearing the suit quite a lot in the first season, but wore it less and less in the second and apparently not much if at all in the third. I'm okay with it. For one thing, it allowed him the time to go make The Last of Us. I only noticed during this reaction that even though Gideon destroyed the Darksaber, he also defeated Bo-katan and removed her helmet. Then Grogu was the one who disarmed him and shoved him into the explosion. If they recover the remains of the Darksaber (or even just the crystal), it'll belong to Grogu by creed. It's also been theorized that Grogu might use his talent for taming animals with the Force (like the rancor in BoBF) to ride the Mythosaur. Combine those two things, and it would be pretty inarguable that Grogu is the true Mandalore.

    Essentially what Disney/Lucasfilm has done is set up for the possibility of having a fourth season even if Pedro Pascal does not return. They wanted to make it VERY CLEAR that as of this season ANYONE could be The Mandalorian. That's why they brought them ALL back. Aside from the filler no point episodes, this season was decent enough. But it shows the influence of Disney/Lucasfilm execs on the writing staff.

    • @AMortalDefiant
      @AMortalDefiant ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The thing is; it's not really filler. I think people just don't get what *THEY* hope for, and label it filler. If you really try to think about why things happen, it makes sense in retrospect, even if it doesn't at the time. Most of the "filler" episodes are there to show us 1) why the OTHER Mandalorians care about Mandalore, and the effect it had on them when their world fell, and 2) establish a character arc for Din going from an unattached grifter to someone committed to a larger cause, and people (Mandalore). This is classic "show; don't tell" in writing. We have to *SEE* why the other characters like Bo-Katan and Paz lament the fall of Mandalore, so that the emotional payoff is there when it is (I'm hoping) restored in the following seasons. Seasons 1/2 being more episodic also played into the overall story arc, by showing Din change from someone who was on his own, living from day-to-day, to being part of something larger, and caring about more than himself. This started (but didn't end with) him getting attached to, and taking care of Grogu. The "filler" episodes are still doing some heavy lifting, even if people don't understand what the writers are preparing for yet.

    • @patrickcromwell7554
      @patrickcromwell7554 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AMortalDefiant No. The show has established that it's about Din and Grogu. So having other characters is not the issue. Stop trying to sound so superior. The issue is that NO ONE cares about that scientist OR the Imperial spy for Gideon. Having an entire episode just for them, or the Jack Black & Lizzo show, IS most certainly "filler". Before commenting learn what filler actually is.

      @@patrickcromwell7554 no, that's what Season 1 and 2 was originally about. Season 3 was about rebuilding Mandalore. Jack Black and Lizzo said that if those two helped with their Droids Problem, they will see the Mandalore they plan to rebuild as a sovereign system, and will even try to make the New Republic see new Mandalore as a sovereign system as well. That doesn't sound very filler, especially with the possibility of it being used in the future, like how Mando Chapter 6, the episode that introduced Bill Burr's character, Mayfeld, into the show. I remember people calling that episode a filler. Look where there led us in the next Season. We had unexpected Mayfeld character development, that droid's remaining parts being used as the Frog Lady's translator for a moment, and the New Republic patrol pilots mentioning the events of that episode, which made them decide to let Mando go instead of arrest him.

      @@Crilyte Dude what the actual Hell do Jack Black, Lizzo and Droids have to do with anything regarding the production or tone of season 4?? Nothing you said makes any sense in context to my post. Don't tell me NO you're wrong and then go into IN universe explanations that are just irelevant. Who the hell cares about Jack Black and Lizzo from ONE episode, when I'm talking about the future of the show as a whole. It's been said on record that "The Mandalorian" is NOT (only) Din Djarin. but that it can be ANY of them. That's why all the side characters and Bo Katan this season. Because when they show season 4 Din Djarin may (possibly) NOT even be the main character. This season may have been Pedro Pascal's last one. And in Fact he was barely even involved in THIS season. He came in, did his lines and left. He was never IN the armor in this season like he was in the last two. I'm not talking about, nor do I even care about Jack Black and Lizzo. They're utterly irelevant.

    Pedro was in the suit for season 1 for sure, and I think 2. But 3 he was busy filming Last of Us, so he could only provide the voice. If we ever get Mando in the future, I'm sure Pedro would gladly be in the suit as long as he's not doing other projects.

    Thrawn and Maul are my favorite bad guys in Star wars. They are so smart and so scary but have this almost thanos like aspect to them, where they respect their opponents in different ways. Plus Maul is kinda sexy, and thrawn is a super genius that respects art and culture but they are ultimately evil in their actions due to their beliefs. you’ve got to watch these Animmated series!!!

    Pedro Pascall is definitely in the Mando suit just not all the time you have been misinformed. The Action heavy sequences require that stunt doubles are used as insurance costs and actors not necessarily being trained combatants is a thing. It is also Disney policy that actors not trained in the specific stunts or heavy action sequences performed are not allowed to take part. Not exactly new either as it is industry standard, actors like Tom Cruise being the exception (not every actor can afford to get a licence to fly a fighter jet for a movie). Therefore ADR (dialogue is recorded by Pedro for these scenes). There is in fact only one episode in the series where he is completely absent for the entire episodes duration, that being Season 1 episode 'Sanctuary' as he was starring in King Lear on Broadway. The stunt actors used for different varieties of stunts or combat sequences are Brendan Wayne (grandson of John Wayne the western star) and Lateef Crowder who specialise in those specific fields.
    Also not new to Star Wars:
    -Vader for example is only voiced by James Earl Jones (James never wore the suit as it was worn by David Prowse to gain Vader's imposing presence but he was thought not to have an intimidating enough voice) on TH-cam there are unedited versions of Vader's scenes with the original actor dialogue preserved they change the character entirely.
    -Christopher Lee was absent from all but the beginnings of lightsabre duels as he was to elderly to perform the stunts and his face was CG added after.
    This is merely an industry standard and has been for decades. I hope this makes you feel better about the character immersion. You could think of it as three separate people pooling their skills to bring you the best version of Din Djarin which when you think about it means three people constantly studying each other to make a physically consistent and seamless performance. Quite amazing when you think about it.

    Mandolorian s3 was. I dunno if I like it or not. The ending was very starwars, but the episodes in the middle was wierd.
    I dunno if someone said it to me, or if it is in my head but.
    Disney forcing Grogu and Din Djarin back together in book of boba fett instead of it being in Mandolorian s3 made the schedule for the season all wierd.
    If instead ep 1-3 be "how to get Grogu back" 5 and 6 the cleansing(bath in the mines of Mandolore), followed by ep 7 and 8 retaking of Mandolore. I think it would have felt alot smoother. Now Din Djarin bathed in ep 2, and then: "Soo, what is the big mission for this season?"
    I am worried that people need to watch Clone Wars and rebels before Ahsoka. I will be clear: nobody knows if that will be needed, but I do think it will be useful. But it has many 20min episodes.

    Shows like "The Last of Us" and "Andor" definitely have a darker, more mature feel to them. I do view Mando as being more appropriate for a wider audience. So I think the lighter tone of the show is fine, since I still find it very entertaining.

    Some TV series that I think you might enjoy reacting to on your channel:
    1) The Legend of Vox Machina: It’s a fun, adult oriented, animated fantasy adventure series. So far there are only two seasons. Each season is 12 episodes long, and each episode is only about 25 minutes. Reacting to two episodes per week, you can get through the entire season (so far) in about 12 weeks. And if you liked The Lord of the Rings (which I know you did) you’ll love The Legend of Vox Machina.
    2) Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Assuming that you’ve never seen the show before, I think it’ll be right up your alley. Humour, romance, action, and even a little bit of horror. Created and produced by Joss Whedon (the same guy who made Firefly, which I know you loved) it definitely has all of the elements that you love in your TV shows.
    3) Highlander The Series: A spin off of the cult classic Highlander movie, this is another I think you’ll enjoy. You can react to the movie first if you want to. Honestly it really doesn’t matter, because the TV show retcons certain things from the movie. They also make references to what happened in the movie in the series, so you’ll get caught up through exposition anyway. In any case, there’s action, adventure, magic, romance, and the lead actor (Adrian Paul) is one heck of a good looking man. It is definitely something that you would enjoy watching.

    I really, really recommend watching Star Wars Rebels before Ashoka comes out. SW: The Clone Wars would be good to watch as well, as that will give you Ashoka's story and her relationship with Anakin (as well as Bo Katan's story), but Ashoka is looking to basically be a straight continuation of Rebels, including many of the main characters of that show coming back. It's a lot to watch, so I'd do it on your own time rather than worrying about making reaction vids for it all, but it will really help put in to context the events we're about to see in Ahsoka (from all apparent reports).
