The last time I wore this it lasted through 3 showers, so I imagine you can still smell today especially after 3 sprays! A beastly fragrance and possibly my favorite from the brand.
I found your channel only yesterday through the TH-cam recommendations, which recommended your sampling samples of Interlude Black Iris, which is a scent I really enjoy. I checked it out because there aren't really that many reviews of it, and I was interested in what others would think of it. Honestly, you immediately caught my attention. I feel the passion and honesty in your videos, unlike some other TH-camrs who try to obviously push stuff. So, you got me to subscribe, and I've probably watched around 10 hours of your videos already, especially of the Desert Gem collection (which I adore) and your takes on Amouage (a great house). Also, this video is really great, and I'll check it out next time I'm in store. Somehow, I've always ignored it. Best regards from Germany
I got a free sample of this with another decant that I ordered recently, and WOW is this one good! Dense, resinous amber with great performance! It almost has a boozy, honey-like sweetness to my nose. Love it!
Young Marc just still had hope for the future. 😄 He didn't know how far industry standards would fall. Quantity over quality n' all. And sometimes the juice in the bottle changes over time. One of the reasons this hobby is so fickle! 😆 Incidentally, I recently started revisiting Encre Noire Sport and it's sooo much better than I remember. Nostalgia maybe. Yet another variable. 😂
Ive maintained for a while that Ambra Aurea inspired many of the big bold ambers that have followed it. Patchouly has to be in my top 3 from the house though.
This is my favourite amber in 6 years in this journey. Also my top 5 of all time. This is what I imagine when I picture and amber stone found deep in the caves of a jungle that holds a pre-historic insect and when you crack it open you get the amber smell the smokiness, some animalic facets, it is perfect for me.
One of the World’s great Ambers along with it’s sibling Fiore d' Ambre and it’s Opium note. Aqua di Sale is THE greatest Summer scent I’ve tried, definite back-up bottles. Another great house: Filippo Sorcinelli- -Contre Bombarde 32 (sweet incense) -Unda Maris 8 (rich aquatic- like Aqua di Sale with it's Myrtle note)
Im really shocked you didn't mention anything about ambergris. I own the older bottle with the silver cap and I heard this one got reformulated due to the fact that the real ambergris in this would crystalize on the sprayer and prevent it from spraying. I can attest to this because some crystals do form on the sprayer that i have to keep clearing and sometimes pick the sprayer with a needle.
I've been wanting to try this house, but they have so many that I've been waiting to find "the one" that calls to me to sample it. I think I may have just found it.
It’s the best straight up Patchouli I’ve smelt. Chocolate-cakey Patchouli. The dry-down is awesome! I think the structure of the base is similar to this fragrance.
A boozy smoked amber, somewhat salty and very mild on the sweet and the spice (only flirting with the gourmand)-yes, I love Ambra Aurea (and perhaps, dare I say, even more than Ambre Sultan). Ambra Aurea envelops me and stays will me a long time, resistant to the impact of the brain tuning the scent out (which is a phenomenon we all experience to some degree, more or less, to certain scents). I wanted to love Arso too. And in a way I do. Indeed, I like the piney-cedary domain perhaps more than the amber. The thing is, what I am starting to realize is that I have a really tough time smelling a lot of these in their full potential. Arso and Incendo by La Curie being some examples: thin, barely perceptible. Ambra Aurea was just so moving to me-especially in contrast to my sad experience with Arso-because I could keep smelling it and literally feeling its enveloping warmth. I do want to figure out what could be the notes that my brain more readily tunes out. Memoir Man, Epic Man, Jubilation-these as well seem weak (in stark contrast to what so many say). I am starting to suspect something quite sad to face: namely, that the blame is less to be put on corner-cutting reforms or needing to let the perfume oxidize or batch variation or even skin chemistry, and more to be put on the victim (my psychology and neurophysiology). I am interested in hearing what people think about this. I am looking into strategies for better perfume hygiene (like spraying under my shirt at belly button level to avoid fatigue or taking breaks just like with any drug) and to help awaken myself to whatever it is that is making some of these scents so weak for me. And I am definitely interested into hearing everyone's thoughts and strategies. I have heard positive reports from people who finally, after tedious exercise, woke up to certain aroma chemicals. Sebastian (The Perfume Guy) is one such case-his brain finally opening up to iso-e-super. I do have many techniques that I am happy to share. But at the end of the day (and as it is with loss of a loved one or one’s own terminal cancer), it might come down to acceptance. Not every piece of music is going too ring your bell, however much you might desire for it to. Likewise not every fragrance will ring your bell or even ring much at all (even if you want it to). I always say that, no matter how much we collect new perfumes to avoid facing this fact (and I do think that more than a few mega collections boil down to evasion of this fact), perfumes are less like dogs than they are like cats: resistant to control, appearing when they want. My acceptance point fits well into that narrative. There is something about Ambra Aurea or Portrayal Man or Laudano Nero or so on that keeps them alive to my brain even through the tuning out and habituation that affects all of us. However much I love Epic Man and Incendo and Arso and various Pineward scents etc (and want to wear them exclusively for my own enjoyment), I might just have to face that these are not my scents (just like I had to face as a kid that a career in the NBA was not in my genetic cards). Perfume enjoyment can be such a teacher to letting go, to becoming more of a cat person, to becoming-to speak in hasty stereotypes-more “oriental” (in the Buddhistic sense of letting go of control so that we, to paraphrase Allen Ginsberg, “die when we die”) and less “western” (in the sense of anal retentiveness that makes us always, to quote Dylan Thomas, “rage against the dying of the light”).
I love this house bro. Visited them at head office in Rome back in 2011 ,met the manager, nice folks. I was looking to be an agent for them here in Western Australia but sadly I didn’t do it in the end. I still have their huge catalogue that I had a number of cards sprayed a put in between the pages. Super powerful and well made, the scent was there for months. Nice work mate. Cheers.
I don’t think it’s that good… 😂 kidding, I always wanted to hear your take on this one, I know it’s good and I want to have it but, no, I will not, I like Ambers, it’s just not my favorite note, I want other things first. If I happen to find it at a great price, I will get it. Thanks for the Unboxing Marc!!!
I noticed that during editing, sadly the scent has already been decanted and it was either not to release the video or post it as is. I decided to post it.
If the 🐐’s impressed, gotta be good
Awesome to hear your thoughts on these! Ambra Aurea is my favourite Profumum and one of (if not THE) my favourite Ambers. Cheers Marc! 😁

i recommended this on your last video and now its here, woohoo
Ah, yes. One of my favorite Roma's, too. Sublime!
Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

Yes finally a great one!
I own this and Arso! ❤
thundra is fantastic definitely worth a sniff imo.
Ambra Aurea is really one of the best ambers period.
Can’t beat a good Amber and this from a sample memory was simply amazing 👍🙏
I would like for you to try Alba and Dambrosia. 2 scents that aren't sweet worth checking out. Orangea is another great one
Perfumum Roma have 3 legitimate bangers. Ambre Aura, Giosada, Dulcis In Fundo
I beat it. Acqua di sale is imo best of that brand, followed by ambra aurea.

Patchouly and Ambra Aurea a bit redundant in your book? I have Ambra and am thinking about Patchouly
@@maistvanjr1 they’re quite different.
I ADORE this ❤
This and Meringa are the best from the brand IMO. Although Aurea has a moth ball type top that takes some getting used to for me! 😂
Ambra Aurea and Akkad are the best amber fragrance for me!!
This is my favourite amber in 6 years in this journey. Also my top 5 of all time. 👍👍👍That's the only one I got from this brand in my collection

Appreciate your thoughts and suggestion of a new house.

100% correct!
Ambra aurea is phenomenal
There is a Patchouli Roma that is regarded as being in the top 5 patchouli's on the market. I'd like to see your take on it. It isn't cheap
This one is a Must amber, please do a review on Fiore D'Ambra, i also love it.
Have you tried the Patchouli?
I've been wanting to try this house, but they have so many that I've been waiting to find "the one" that calls to me to sample it. I think I may have just found it.
I hope Patcholy is next.
Have you tried it? I'm thinking about getting a bottle, I really love Patchouli.
It’s the best straight up Patchouli I’ve smelt. Chocolate-cakey Patchouli. The dry-down is awesome! I think the structure of the base is similar to this fragrance.
Patchouli is so good also. Opening is the most challenging part about it but I enjoy it from opening to dry down

This was a hell of a comment. Really appreciate the details!!
I've had this scent for years & I could have sworn that there was a tobaco note in this

Is this unisex or more leans towards feminine?
