It would not be smart for her to sing the studio version every night on a tour. But she also seems to sing better (more support) sitting down than standing up and moving around.

You see in my opinion a great singer/vocalist should be able to at least replicate if not perform better than the recorded version when performing LIVE on stage. Anyone can engineer the recording in the studio to make it sound great! … but if the singer cannot replicate the recorded version without the aid of sound engineers then that to me is a average singer. I’m a very harsh judge when it comes to rating a singer. I judge singers purely on their LIVE performances in their concerts and I have watched many singers LIVE concerts around the globe (both male and female) on YT and the great ones are the ones that sound just like their records and some sound even better. I was fortunate to watch Whitney LIVE in 1989 during her world tour and she was absolutely freaking out of this world! She sounded even better live on stage than her records! In my opinion there are not too many old style great vocalist anymore in todays music industry. There are a handful of greats from the Phillipines but after this performance I would not even consider her anywhere near that list. Also to reply to your comment that she should not sing like the studio version every night? Like WHAT? If I was going to watch someone live at a concert and paid good money to do so. My expectations is for that artist to give his/hers 100%! no matter if it’s the first or the last night of his/her tour.

GiGi’s “studio” versions are in fact live versions because they’re clips from her livestreams and done in one take. And singers who do a lot of belting in their recorded versions of songs, especially great singers, almost always reduce the amount of belting they do live on tour. If it’s a one time live performance like a TV show they won’t change it much, but on tour they usually do. This is standard practice to protect the singer’s voices. Whitney was famous for reducing the amount of belting on her tours.
