Yep, this week has been an excellent week for baling hay. Probably could've skipped the tedding step but, it was a good excuse to ride around on the ol' 806. LOL Thanks for watching & commenting.
I'm very intrigued there's one of these up for sale by me and I need a rake and tedder be great to buy one piece instead of 2 , what are the cons to these
The biggest con would be, not being able to roll multiple windrows together as easily as the old side delivery bar rake or wheel rake. Along with that one would be a limited working width of 10' to 12'. One other might be the possibility of the baskets getting out of time & hitting each other. Hope those thoughts help. I'd have to say that it is a pretty handy unit to have around. I like the fact that that I can do 2 different things with 1 tool. I've got a video of it tedding the hay that I'll get posted soon for you all to watch. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Being able to rotate the cams allows you to change the movement of the arms on the baskets when going to & from the raking or tedding hay setup. I tend to leave the cams set for rsking hay & setting the arms in a fixed position for tedding hay.

I guess I could but, it's pretty basic. Each bar has 2 grease fittings on them, a couple on the vertical shafts on each basket, a couple on the wheels & axle, & the PTO shaft. Just 2 or 3 pumps of grease for each grease fitting is about all they need. Thanks for stopping by.
It must've been a good reason, I'm sure. New Holland has another similar model to this, a 255 I think, with the baskets offset from one another. I think that one might be a better setup over the 254 that I've got. Thanks for watching & commenting.

I jjst bought a 255 under the cam there's a lever and springs that allow that cam to move around. I can't find out what that changes or adjusts?

Your local New Holland equipment dealer should be able to get any needed parts for you.
