Hi James, I find them fascinating to watch, I could sit there for hours watching each piece move. All the best, Matt

Quite humbling to see such large Victorian elegance . Was that your brother at 6:18?

Its was beautiful, I had to point out to my lad the Victorian tiles on the wall. My son filmed that bit 😉, so no thats not my brother, you also missed me waving in another clip 😂

    hi Matt
Brought back memories, i used to machine the wheels rope groove clearance in situ around derbyshire, nottinghamshire, yorkshire mines
We have a similar preserved colliery on my doorstep at Pleasley Pit, it has the steam winders ruuning at times but using a motor to turn them.
    Nice one👍👍👍👍

Hi Kev, I must take note of that one, if I get over that way I'll try and pop in there and have a nosey. Just been looking on there website, most fascinating. They must have been interesting places when they fully operated back int day, not like now. All the best, Matt

What was running the engine? Seems to be an absence of steam

Unfortunately it runs on compressed air, they can only run it for a few minutes at a time before the air tanks run out and its only running at tick over speed apparently. Would love to see it move at speed!! All the best, Matt
