Hi Will, I've just come across your channel in search for watchstrap making videos. Everyone seems to have their own techniques, but I liked yours the best, plus you are in the UK, as I am. I'm now subscribed and will be binge-watching all your videos over the next few days😄 Can I ask, what type of leather and thickness should I be using for watchstraps? Nobody seems to mention this. In my past few attempts I've used anything from old leather coat leather to upholstery leather offcuts, but this isn't giving me the crisp sharp lines that you have. I'll get back to my binging now Thanks Johnny
Straps are normally made woth leather thickness of 1 to 2mm thickness of each layer. If you're making a padded strap, I find using a top layer of around 1-1.2mm is good. Lining about the same thickness. For flat straps I go with 1.4mm each layer so the finished strap is 2.8mm thick.
Very nicely done, I love it. Beautiful. I hope to reach your level of mastery. Super sharp shooting. I wonder what camera you use, for such sharp images..?? Thank you and hope you have a nice day 🤗

What are your thoughts on placing stitches across the ends and making perforations like old stamps and weakening the leather?

Hi, can you indicate the thickness of the leather you’re using? Thanks!
Process is good but why you shoot videos in dark light ?? 😊
That’s a beauty ❤️
Thank you Rachel
Nice ❤❤❤❤
Cooool
Had to mute it, it was like nails on a blackboard. Other than that, reasonably nice strap 👍
