Loki: "We die with the dying. We're born with the dead." This was a fantastic season of Loki, having hard time to let go of so many good character moments. See you next Week with "The Marvels". On Patreon we are bit ahead, this week, we will watch "Echo" (Episode 2+3) We appreciate you guys, for all your support, so don't forget to hit that subscribe button, it really motivates us to keep up the content. What is really sad is Victor Timely is a Kang Variant that HWR stole from his normal future time and abandoned in the past specifically so that he lives a life just out of reach due to the tech which makes him who he is and designed EXACTLY to prompt Sylvie not to kill him in his workshop. HWR mocks him and his stutter because he made him a crippled version of himself just so eventually he could have Renslayer trigger this endgame by giving him the handbook. Victor is imho a good Kang variant and a victim. His "I am sorry" is genuine when they fail scaling the loom.
I got a good chuckle when Frank said that they were going to get gutted like fish when that is the exact threat that Loki made to Casey in season 1 episode 1 and he had no idea what it meant
Tom Hiddleston has stated that this was his departure from Loki, and as sad as I am to see him go, I couldn’t have imagined a better ending to Loki’s arc.
I'm not so sure about that. I think we'll get one more Loki and Thor "sun will shine on us again" moment before finally saying goodbye to the Hiddleston version of the character.
All the characters Loki saw jumping through time are originals, not variants. Mobius was a water scooter salesman named Don, Casey was an Alcatraz inmate named Frank Morris (a real man rumored to have escaped from Alcatraz in 1962 with John and Clarence Anglin), B-15 was a doctor named Verity Willis, Ouroboros was a writer from the 1990s named D.A.Doug. It would be interesting to learn more about their real life in the future.
The irony of course is in Loki's first appearance in the comics he's trapped inside a tree (a punishment from Odin for some offense we never learn about) and here he is voluntarily trapping himself inside a "tree" because he was burdened with glorious purpose.
Loki using the branches to make Yggdrasil is such a clever and beautiful way to end his arc, hope we see him again at some point but I love where they've left the character for now
Literally in lore, Loki is the reason why the universes of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Sony Spider Man Films and others exist. Their events take place after the finale of Loki. In their perspective, they have existed for billions years, but in fact appeared after 2024 relative to the main Earth 616 (MCU).
Yeah, loki happened outside of time, so the effects of the loki ending affects all timelines through past, present and future at the same time. Lol I can't quite express it in words but I completely understand it!
Asgardians keep growing more powerful with age. Loki "god of Stories" is so powerfcul he now exists in the 4th dimension - outside of time and space. He went from "burdened with GLORIOUS purpose", to "BURDENED with glorious purpose." 👏👏👏👏😭
There is a difference between space multiverse and time multiverse (timelines). Universes (different observable universes) are in the same space. Timelines contain their own multiverse and timelines are separated from each other by an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space. Loki is supposed to be there.
This is my favorite Marvel show. The finale puts the God of Mischief in charge of the multiverse and the Tree of Life. How many people have experienced daily life where moments of mischief happen to us? A brilliant explanation to ‘Why did that just happen?’
Knowing that y’all are so close to the current state of the MCU…I’m so excited…also tomorrow is the first episode of season 2 of Daryl Dixon…can’t wait to see it and your reactions
Now Loki is sitting on his throne at the citadel of he who remains as the god of stories. The multiverse does not have a script or have to be pruned. If anything is prune is only certain items that could possibly destroy that universe no longer individuals who could be Nexus being like Scarlet witch or what seems to be every Loki variant. If any universe dies it will be due to natural causes or self-destruction based off individual choices without any manipulation of outside universes interference like Wanda dreamwalking into a variant self. Now everything is Canon to the MCU while also being Canon to their own universe timeline even cartoons.
Fun tid bit: the part where Loki says “I know what kind of god I need to be, for all of us” is a call back to the end of Thor 1 right before Loki fell into the black hole when he was pleading to Odin that he “could have done it father, for all of us.”
I am still sad about how this ended. I hope Loki gets to see his loved ones again but I think he will be core to the ending of the upcoming multiverse saga.
One of the best endings ever. I was weeping. I'm surprised Trin didn't cry. He's the God of Stories but he's alone on a throne and saved everyone. The look on his face really got to me.😭💞
Frank Morris, the name of an actual Alcatraz escapee whose body was never found. Clever way to tie in his disappearance. OB's workshop not in the TVA was the same set as the TVA one, they just decorated ti differently. They intentionally wanted them to look similar. Now as the God of Stories (from the comics), he can let everyone have free will, which causes an infinite number of branches. His burden is that he will forever be alone in order for his friends and others to thrive. When they say a He Who Remains variant in 616 adjacent, they are referring to the events of Quantum Mania. New TVA seems to be more of a police force keeping tabs on all his variants. Ms. Marvel will have direct ties coming up. Without spoiling much, I'll say what Feige did, the events of this show will have a direct effect on the larger MCU future.
YEEESSSSSS!!!!! Imagine getting home from a long day of grocery shopping due to London traffic and people traffic.. Getting into your shorts and vest.. Switching on the TH-cam TV app and seeing Rob & Trin dropped the last 2 episodes for Loki S2!!! I thought it'd be Sunday but you two have Just made my Saturday evening before Match of the Day 😂👊🏿
Great watch, guys. Yeah, Trin, ultimate sacrifice for his friends. I'm sure we'll see him again when the multiverse collapses and incursions start. Who will be there with him and who will kick start the climax of the Multiverse Saga, we're yet to see. Just know you'll be happy to see it. I'll join you for the ride. Read last week that Deadpool and Wolverine will be out on VOD Oct 1. So after you finish Echo and Xmen 97, you'll know where to go, 👍💕P.S. Hope you will give Secret Invasion a look. Advances story arc of some of our favs.
What a character arc. When we met Loki his wanted the throne and did not care about friends. In the end he has to sacrifice having friends he wanted and take a throne that he did not
I feel like all the goofy poses that Tom Hiddleston did with Loki was first trying to control his time slipping were takien and edited into one thing and that's the graphic that they use every time he actually Time Slips LOL
By the end he didn't want the throne and just wanted his friends, and ended up with the throne and not his friends. Very sad. Don't forget though, this is only one variant of Loki. There are other universes with other Lokis out there.
36:27 "So the more room you give it, the more it scales." Just like road traffic. If you expand a motorway, traffic will increase to fill the available space. (expanding roads usually isn't a way to reduce traffic congestion, but it's usually what they try). 38:17 "The last thing I want is a throne!" And the last thing he gets is a throne.
Loki at the end of the first Thor movie: "I did it for you, for all of us!" Loki at the end of "Loki": "I know what kind of god I have to be. For you. For all of us."
The loom. The failsafe does one thing. Delete EVERY timeline EXCEPT the exact one HWR came from in the first multiversal war which is a complete reset. HWR does not know, he lives his normal life, invents time travel universe hopping, meets other hims eventually finding and weaponizing alioth and we wind up right at the same end result. It is just a failsafe though, the real cycle is making Loki choose to relieve him but still run the TVA so HWR can retire/live without having to worry about his variants ending everything. Sylvie was pruned because she had to be the Loki tortured by the TVA to the point of being immovable on it's end and the ultimate motivation/choice for Loki to choose life and protect it.
I love learning behind the scenes stuff about shows and films. Not only was episode 5 written over a few days, because the previous version was nuked by Marvel, but the "What did you call me?" "Mobius." "That's a pretty cool name" was improv. Also, the reason Sylvie was at McDonalds was because Sophia Di Martino wasn't careful when talking to producers at the end of season 1. Right after they finished filming the stuff at the end of time where Sylvie kills hwr, Sophia was asked what she thought Sylvie would go on to do next and she answered a bit too literally, saying she thought Sylvie would be hungry and want a burger.
Some of my favourite things about Mobius/Don in episode 5: "I sell jet skis, man" He continues trying to sell his jet skis, both to Loki when he shows up at the house and at OB's place after being recruited to help save the tva And something that someone pointed out and I cannot unsee, he keeps reminding Loki that he is single.
"I feel like he is in charge of the TVA" That was he who remains, Kang, that was his plan. Basically he wanted to put someone else in charge of the TVA so he could be free from his burden but it had to be someone who would keep the plan going. Loki's always ruin everything and Loki HAS to exist on the sacred timeline (they play a pivotal role in starting the whole cycle) so eventually a Loki always comes who messes shit up (sylvie) and Kang has the whole thing scripted so our Loki kills Sylvie to protect his friends out of selfishness which eventually ends with him taking the deal in the chambers. This has happened before, its a giant loop except this loki, because he fell in love with not just sylvie but everyone at the TVA and through his mastery of time broke the cycle and destroyed the loom. If Loki had failed, the loom blows and the ONLY timeline left is the one where the OG kang eventually happens and the whole war happens again exactly the same and the same he who remains wins. HWR never really died because he can time slip too with his technology, Loki evolved to do it with his magic alone which was also not expected by HWR. HWR expected everything right up until loki froze the room when they chatted. You can tell HWR's demeanor changed there.
About the shoes at the end, Tom helped design them based on a monk and his sacrifice. They’re real leather and they’re supposed to portray a humbleness.
The loom powers the TVA and forced the sacred timeline into a loop (the sacred timeline itself is not just one timeline, but many bundled together focused around ensuring no other Kangs ever come about). It also has the failsafe of erasing everything but one single timeline, the root timeline where Kang arose. Loki now lets the branches grow naturally like a tree but they are not safe yet and it is a fight, kangs or other multiversal entities can arise and threaten everything now but the alternative was a universe where Kang won for sure or Kangs killed the whole multiverse for sure. Loki gave us a new road, but maybe one just as dangerous.
On the recent No Man's Sky fishing themed expedition I did call one of the planets "Hartley Prime". Must have confused anyone who wasn't British and of a certain age:) I love this finale. It's so good and everyhing fits so well. If it was the last MCU thing I saw I'd be happy with that.
What i get from the finale is that a loom is needed so the multiverse doesn't collapse to/into each other, and since the loom tech isn't strong enough to hold more than 1 timeline without breaking, loki now is the loom, allowing multiple timeline to co-exist without collapsing. Craziest multiverse story
I wonder if this is why the time stone was green, because loki is now in control of time and so it was his energy in this timeline. In the end, Loki got what he always wanted, glorious purpose.
Loki S1/2 are actually INCREDIBLY important in terms of the rest of the MCU... Loki is single handedly keeping the Multiverse together and bringing in all the Fox properties too :P
And they will, when it comes up in the watch order, aka release order, as they have been doing the whole way through. They even already watched What if season 2 over on Patreon.
Glorious Purpose indeed. He finally got his throne that he always knew he was born to have. Unfortunately it came with his biggest fear, being alone. 😢
In the video of ep 1 and 2, they mentioned going back to rewatch the first Thor film. I really hope they do so they notice the connection to the end of season 2
This story arc was to lead us into the next Avenger’s movies but Major’s got into some trouble and Disney fired him so this season was just to rap up this story arc. It seemed like the only way to make it happen. This then makes Marvel re-plan the story arc leading up to the next Avenger’s movies.
Been waiting for the last episode. I loved this rewritten ending. A lot was changed from the original cut of the show with more Majors involvement. Sadly once the case dropped and so was he and the character of Kang for the moment. But the talking to the camera was a brilliant rewrite. Now welcome LOKI, god of stories!
So in one of the comics runs loki evolved to a more powerful god aside from "mischief" he was then known as "the God of stories" which you saw the beginnings of in the episode "science/fiction" and now in episode 6 you see it come to full fruition. What we think is that he will take the role of avenger: prime in secret wars. He will be the good side and the rdj Dr doom will take the bad side of "doom prime" or "god emperor doom" to pit characters against each other. But well see how it goes. I really did love majors as Kang and wish he could've stayed but not a good human 😞 The last episode breaks my heart every time. He finally got his throne and its not what he wanted. All hail the god of stories!
Sure. Rob the convict. Always knew it. The lack of hair gave it up. Also, for Trin (I probably butchered your name) : Je suis TELLEMENT curieux d'en savoir plus à ton propos, c'est presque comme un suspense pour lequel j'espère voir une résolution à un moment ou un autre. Merci pour les vidéos !
Young Sylvie was playing with dolls and was having the Valkyries win. She got pruned because she was destined to be a "good" Loki instead of a goddess of mischief.
What do you mean, you hope it pays off? That was the payoff! An amazing end to an amazing show. It's here to be enjoyed in its own right. If you only see each part for how it fits into the whole, you miss out. You won't see the tree for the wood.
Hooo you have very less views for your video. please don't take it negative please just react to movie "KALKI 2898" then watch your change in views thank you
Triiiiin !!!! I love how u keep track of the little important details, I just love that, it's always very important ! But I told u guys u would LOVE season 2. Loki is honestly the best written MCU story so far. Since 2008, since the beginning : GLORIOUS PURPOSE 😫😫😫
The shoes are amazing and suit his outfit 100%. They're almost the exact copy of Old Norse shoes from 10-11 centuries. The costume designer said they wanted this new Loki to look humble, like a monk, it suits his purpose. So they're simple leather shoes but very comfortable.
i cant wait for s3, this is one of the better shows around right now imo slight spoiler... . . . i would be sooooo pissed to get all the way tot he end and he puts it downa nd rolls off... so much i would let it all unravel haha i think this ending is fitting for the character, and the show, many shows end on cliff hangers and then get canceled and then we all get sad when shows just end like like firefly (man i want a continuation of that one) or jerhico. i prefer shows to end all season as if its the finale of the entire show. as for the chars arc, we seen him become good once, and his trickster ways have always been fun, this here is just like him to become the god he claimed he always was and the use of the tree like how each universe is a tree of sorts from his mythos, the rainbow bridge thing and all that in thor 1, taking it right back to the beginning, mmm thats good writing right there. i never liked the horns, but his green magic is my jam, always an illusionist in games, "i am the shadow, but also the wall and that rock maybe, or that leaf blowing in the wind." Boss Crash
Loki: "We die with the dying. We're born with the dead."

Frank, Casey is based on a real group of guys who escaped alcatraz.

I think you guys should watch agents of shield and agent carter too 🤔
Loki is the one who remains now. He is the God of Stories. He actually holds the MCU together
Burdened with glorious purpose.
More like holding multiverse in MCU, without him we can't have Deadpool x men what if and others.
The most epic marvel show finale ever. Natalie Holt's soundtrack is definitely 'glorious'.
Loki has the best character arc in all of the MCU, from villain to God of Stories
Not time, nor space.
The God of Stories
The finale has gotta be one of the best episodes of Marvel TV I've ever seen. Loki is truly burdened with glorious purpose.
the fact that they used the God of Stories for Loki's ending is AMAZING
I got a good chuckle when Frank said that they were going to get gutted like fish when that is the exact threat that Loki made to Casey in season 1 episode 1 and he had no idea what it meant

Hey Rob and Trin.... What color is Loki's magic? And what color is the TIME stone?
Amazing
Actually Rob, Victor Timely was more spaghetti and Loki was spaghetti-o's since he looped back on himself😳
Lol silly. I like that
The irony of course is in Loki's first appearance in the comics he's trapped inside a tree (a punishment from Odin for some offense we never learn about) and here he is voluntarily trapping himself inside a "tree" because he was burdened with glorious purpose.

He's alone now. AGAIN
Loki’s story arc is fantastic from Thor 1 😁😁😁
8:40 you guys forgot to notice that OB's workplace on the timeline looks exactly like his workplace at the TVA
This is my favorite Marvel show. The finale puts the God of Mischief in charge of the multiverse and the Tree of Life. How many people have experienced daily life where moments of mischief happen to us? A brilliant explanation to ‘Why did that just happen?’
God of Stories
It’s not confusing all you have to do is concentrate.........
LOL, same with actually listening to what they're saying xD

Mobius, like the Mobius strip, that stark used to tim travel in endgame
perfect redemption.
Loki, not only The God of Mischief but also The God of the freaking Multiverse 🥺🥰
I am ready to see him in Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars ❤🎉

This show is kind of the end of the old Loki we know and love - I don’t see how he would comeback but it’s marvel

Some of my favourite things about Mobius/Don in episode 5:
"I sell jet skis, man"
He continues trying to sell his jet skis, both to Loki when he shows up at the house and at OB's place after being recruited to help save the tva

Beautiful ending to a great series. Are we seeing What if 2 next? 👀
Next is the movie "The Marvels" and the week after yes we will edit "What if 2" aswell 👍
This Loki ! The least he wanted was a throne and that's what he gets in the end!
Loki is officially the "God of Stories" now.
What us a real name? Is it the name given or the one you choose?
I enjoyed this show so much
Loki is The God of Stories now.
“Can you get it on eBay?”
Yes. Yes you can.
I dropped my current video in window mode so fast when I saw this pop up
Thank you so much for the support!
next The Secret Invasion and the Marvels
They already watched Secret Invasion, The Marvels is next and then What If...? Season 2
Let’s gooo!
Old (I guess) brit here.
I think you all should do “What if”
And they will, when it comes up in the watch order, aka release order, as they have been doing the whole way through.
Zaniac comic #319 Thor.... Loki God of stories comic book.
All hail the god of stories!
one thing i hope, is that marvel brings back jonathan majors as kang in future films. they did him wrong smh
Sure. Rob the convict. Always knew it. The lack of hair gave it up.
Young Sylvie was playing with dolls and was having the Valkyries win. She got pruned because she was destined to be a "good" Loki instead of a goddess of mischief.
Destined to be alone. His glorious purpose.
“Burdened with glorious purpose.”
It turned out his glorious purpose really is a burden.
I don't expect to see this variant of Loki again.
For all time, always. 😢❤
❤
More than anything, I want to see a scene where Loki and Thor meet again, and Loki picks up Mjölnir.
An old Brit here. 👍
✌
Best thing Marvels done in years!
Great characters, great acting, great story. Glad they ended it on a creative high.
I was also sad that Loki had to sacrifice himself but his sacrifice was "the glorious purpose" he was trying to achieve all this time.
So many good characters are gone. Hope the new characters live up to them.
His name is actually Mole-Balls
7:20 There is a fan theory this version is an Alt of Odin and his 2 sons, Thor & Loki.
The shoes are amazing and suit his outfit 100%. They're almost the exact copy of Old Norse shoes from 10-11 centuries. The costume designer said they wanted this new Loki to look humble, like a monk, it suits his purpose. So they're simple leather shoes but very comfortable.
Now thats a fuckin catalina wine mixer❤❤
I'm a 34 year old Swede, and I've definitely heard of the J R Hartley ad 😃
"Get in *me*." - Rob 🤣
i cant wait for s3, this is one of the better shows around right now imo
slight spoiler...

i would be sooooo pissed to get all the way tot he end and he puts it downa nd rolls off... so much i would let it all unravel haha
i think this ending is fitting for the character, and the show, many shows end on cliff hangers and then get canceled and then we all get sad when shows just end like like firefly (man i want a continuation of that one) or jerhico. i prefer shows to end all season as if its the finale of the entire show. as for the chars arc, we seen him become good once, and his trickster ways have always been fun, this here is just like him to become the god he claimed he always was and the use of the tree like how each universe is a tree of sorts from his mythos, the rainbow bridge thing and all that in thor 1, taking it right back to the beginning, mmm thats good writing right there.
i never liked the horns, but his green magic is my jam, always an illusionist in games, "i am the shadow, but also the wall and that rock maybe, or that leaf blowing in the wind." Boss Crash
There'll never be a season 3. It was planned as a 2 season show, it's done.
Wow! Rob with a shirt? What a sexy boi 😂🤭
