Thank you so much for this information. I count myself as an amateur detailer, but definitely didn't know this useful tip. Saved my hazard button on my Giulietta. Being a bassist back then and keeping this cleaner on my closet now payed off 😂
It works well in advance, but you have to apply several times and wait 5-10 min between. Then my friends a good microfiber cloth that does not fluff. Rub and rub like an obsessed. The result will be amazing !! Many thanks for the tip.
Same here, I noticed I had to apply it at least 2 times, wait 5 mins then scrub with the rougher part of a used microfiber towel, but still keeping an eye out for the paint. I was afraid it might get off.
Yes it worked when i tried. My daughter n i spent some father-daughter time cleaning up my Maserati Quattrporte. Now i hav clean beautiful stereo buttons. Wil work on climate control buttons some other day. It take patience n be careful cleaning actual buttons bcoz u dont wanna break the clicking mechanism. Local Ferrari/Maserati dealer has a solution n wants USD$9,000 (nine thousand) for the same job. It cost me USD$30 n a good 30minutes.
It might have cost you $30 but in all honesty - you’ve gained sooo much doing this with your daughter, showing her how little things can fix little problems that you have actually „earned“ in the process. Both of you. I started doing this with my son and it is soooo worth it.
I heard that lemon oil would work great to get rid any stickyness on any surface but should not be applied on plastic as it would damage it. Looks good on your car. Will try this on mine, i like that it is natural product.
This is a great informative video. I am very curious to know how the exposed print lasts over a period of time as the protective layer is now non existent.
Thanks for your comment ! Your questioning is interesting. It's been two years since I put this video online and since then there has been no change in the appearance of the button ! I'll try to make a video to show that.
I fix my Benz thankn you for your response. I thought since this is an old video, this might be the best time to review how its lasted the test of time. Will look forward to your video.
thx for video, i know old but, if you see this. while you are holding bottle of Dunlop against button, are you squeezing the bottle after the initial priming of pad? Are you just using the pad to rub in the product? or are you squeezing to get more product on?
Hello ! The pad should always be soaked in order to distribute the product on the surface to be treated. However, you should not squeeze the bottle continuously. If you squeeze the bottle too much, the pad will not only be soaked, it will be saturated with oil and the oil will start to drip. This is not what we want. So you have to squeeze the bottle to soak the pad. Then you spread the product by rubbing the pad on the button, but without squeezing the bottle. When the pad is dry, you squeeze the bottle again to soak the pad. And so on... 😉
You have a nice hand... :-D :-D But seriously thanks for this video, I bought 2006 C4 and it does have some sticky buttons, so now I know how to fix them. :) Thumbs up
@@zetohd5625 Hello, OK, I understand your concern now. Some models may have leather in the centre of the steering wheel. You're right. On this particular vehicle, that's not the case. It's just plastic ! So no risk...
Thanks for your comment. It will be helpful for everyone. Your remark is interesting. This method works well on Mercedes soft coating but there are probably differences in plastic surface treatment between Italian and German cars.
I have now applied this product 3 times and I can not seem to remove all of the finish - am I doing something wrong? has anyone else had a similar experience?
Hello ! Thanks for your comment. Did you do this on a Mercedes ? Did you use a microfiber cloth ? If this is the case, I suggest that you let the product work for a longer period of time.
I hope you enjoyed this video !

Neutrogena makeup remover wipes works perfectly and you get a cloth with each wipe.
Love this channel !! Wtf is with sticky buttons in mercedes

🤣 I love this oil for indeed the fretboards of my guitars! To see the alternative use for it here is hilarious !

Do your buttons still look brand new two years later?😁 can you make a video on it maybe? A short one?

It worked?
@@Hakan89 I haven’t had a chance to go find the oil, but it obviously works just watch the video and read the comments.
There are many different Dunlop 65 to choose from. Which should i use?
Have anyone tried baby oil? I think that will work too ...
Hello ! You'll find a link to the Dunlop 65 in the video descrition (below the video). 😉
Does it work on a Jaguar XJL?
Next video: How to fix a Broken button....😷😷😷😷
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Excellent!
Quick question: doesn’t this leave stains on the leather?
Hello ! I'm sorry, I don't understand why you're talking about leather. The purpose is to remove the sticky coating on the plastic buttons...
I fix my Benz, the airbag cussion on the steering wheel is leather, right?
@@zetohd5625 Hello, OK, I understand your concern now. Some models may have leather in the centre of the steering wheel. You're right. On this particular vehicle, that's not the case. It's just plastic ! So no risk...
Mask off around the buttons with tape, like painter's tape, it will prevent any accidents with your leather air bag
I tried it on a Maserati radio and had no luck. It didn't remove or even change the stickiness at all.

Thank You.
would this work with headphone cables that have gotten sticky? Is this stuff safe for skin? thanks
It will work for most anything, including computer hardware with rubber or even tools with rubber handles.
Mo bittons on my jaykato and troousars are all ticky
I dont understand why it is fitted with this kind of sticky buttons?
Thanks !

im trying this tomorrow mine are really bad
Does this work on jaguar xf sticky buttons?
No, only works on Mercedes sticky buttons!
99% isopropyl alcohol and microfiber cloths, rub it good
Damaging protective layer...
Why bother putting on the layer in the first place ?
Has anyone tried this on a Ferrari?
Yes, it works....
Yeah it worked on my 1/18 scale model... 😄
Hella French
Work on masersti?
Hi ! Take a look at the comments. You will find the one by steve C. It says it worked for a Maserati Quattroporte ! 👍
