OSRS shop prices aren't static like RS3 and they aren't locked per player instead its per world/account type. Buying the elemental runes wasn't 4gp each the price increased on you to the point you may have been buying them for over 4x the original price. You can kinda see this if you watch your cash stack when you're buying the elemental runes in this video it starts to drop more dramatically with each click. OSRS shops have a supply and demand mechanic where as a stock decreases the item cost goes up, stocks also tend to restock much faster in OSRS than RS3. What most players do in OSRS like ironmen when buying runes from NPC shops is buy the stack down till you hit a point where the per rune cost is no longer worth it to you, and then hop worlds for a fresh stock.
you can see this in the video using < and > to go frame by frame from 29:00 to 29:01 where 50 fire runes costs you something like 2k+ gold so you were spending something like 40+ gp per rune at that point
yeah later on in the video I noticed that I was spending way more than 4 gp a piece like I thought I was @@FluffKIA 😅😅 your advice about hopping worlds is so good! if you want a decent daily moneymaker then unlocking discounted daily staves from the varrock achievement diary is nice
