Saw a bloke lose 4 fingers when i worked there in the mid 1970s, his wife reminded me of Jeanie Little, lovely couple. Good memories of the place. Bunning Brother's.
@@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen oh so glad! I thought it must have been done and then left again. Have to get back up to Jarrahdale. I spent a lot of time at this place as a kid, we had our horses there and used to ride the trails from there. Beautiful spot on the river.
The round building is known as the round table. Would have had a rubber belt from the mill shooting lengths of timber onto the round table (large round turning table in the centre of the round shed). Approximately six men would work around the round table stacking the timber in packs as it came past them on the slowly spinning table. Generally regarded as a lower ranking position in the mill, with the machine operators usually paid slightly higher

I remember my Dad and Brett working on cars in the garage over the pit in the old managers house. I thought this had been restored. Breaks my heart.
Yes it has been restored now. This was taken a while back.

Thanks for the explanation.
so sad, so run down since I lived up there :(
We have a newer video with a mixture of old and new footage showing the restored building. th-cam.com/video/6D5V2ZasjR0/w-d-xo.html
Love it.
Thanks Jake.
my ex husband and three of his brothers worked there in the late 70s early 80s
It’s not even that old compared to heritage buildings in the UK. It’s disgusting how we don’t preserve things here
The attitude here seems to be, if we can't make money out of it, just lot it rot....
Western Australia Now and Then sadly yes :(
Mill managers house has been fixed up and they are looking for tenants
Good to hear the site is finally getting some attention.
