Hi James and Jessica, hope you have a great Thanksgiving! I wonder if maybe the sleeper was made for Marmon? Maybe that’s why the difference in material. That cradle it sits on is probably the only option to make it fit. But it has probably been that way since new so it has had a pretty long life and is still in good condition just needs minor repairs. Stay safe
