Thanks for the great tutorial!! I enjoy routing the same way as you do. I like to waypoint upcoming towns, attractions, etc. I have a 595M as well in which we're limited to 29 waypoints per route, therefore I have to split routes into separate days of my trip. I used Garmin's Mapsource on my PC with my Garmin 276C for well over 15 years with "no waypoint limitation." I laid out a single route across the US with well over 150 waypoints back then without a glitch. I don't understand why Garmin has this limitation in Basecamp. I'm now learning to live with Basecamp, but coming from Mapsource, I can truly say that it was much more user friendly over Basecamp. Thanks again for the great tutorial!! Ray 👍😊
Do you use Trip Planner? It has some quirks I don’t like, but I have used it for a few years now and it has some advantages for longer trips such as when you change dates and such. Although, I don’t like the way it selects default days for new days that are inserted. It seems to often use the current date rather than the date of the prior day in the trip so I have to manually adjust that to avoid weirdness when loaded to the GPS. I like much about Basecamp and still use it, but it certainly is in need of a major refresh and Garmin appears to have all but abandoned it. What version of Basecamp are you using? I made the mistake of upgrading to v4.7 a few years ago and it really messed up things. I could not load trips to my GPS any longer. I had to roll back to 4.6 and then found many web sites that cautioned against going to 4.7. Have you had any such issues or did you stay at 4.6?
Cruiseman's Garage I had not seen that 4.8 was released. I use a Mac also and my Basecamp keeps saying a new version is available, but it says 4.7 and I was hesitant to upgrade given my bad experience with that a few years ago and the forum warnings to avoid it. Maybe I still have to upgrade to 4.7 before I can upgrade to 4.8. I will look at that when I get back from my current trip to Alaska. I am not sure what the Basecamp Trip Planner has to do with the Zumo GPS??? I don’t think the Basecamp Trip Planner even cares what GPS you eventually load the routes to. I have never had any issue loading routes created in Basecamp Trip Planner to either my BMW Navigator V or my Nuvi car GPS.

I am using Mac OS version 4.8.4 of BaseCamp. I don't use Trip Planner because I am using a Garmin Zumo.
