Fun fact : Matt Leblanc wanted his character with Lisa Kudrow's character , Phoebe , he felt they had chemistry and were good for each other , but the creators made for him Rachel and Joey...and yes he hated it ( i can't blame him for it ) and didn't want it ( nobody did ).

Honestly Joey and Pheebs have something rare and special; they've both made it no secret that they're attracted to each other, but they love each other as friends so much and operate on such bizarrely similar wavelengths that they're happy without having to take things further. A huge part of their charm is that despite probably being the most sexually active/casual of their friend group, they're so earnest, playful and wholesome with each other.
what I never understood is how Joey can lie in the early seasons and then starts going on about raccoons later 😭

I wanted Joey and Phoebe to end up together the way Joey always cared Pheobe like when she's pregnant he became vegetarian so that Pheobe could eat meat and we all know food is the most important thing in Joey's life, he gave her perfect kiss and many more but it's ok friendship has it's own charm than couple.
