    I played with a pack of PermaJet Titanium Gloss 300 and was very impressed with it. It was perfect for images with a lot of chrome metallic in it ( I photographed a wristwatch and some old silver rangefinder cameras I own ). Produces lovely deep blacks too. If you want to try a really unusual paper, give PermaJet Ultra Pearl 295 a try. Definitely a paper that needs careful consideration because it's got a very unique surface. I can only describe it as " glittery ". It's subtle of course but I've never used a paper quite like it. It literally seems to glow when light hits it directly. ☺️

    Dear Keith, Thank you very much. I would like to ask you a question. I have bought the G650. I have a Mac. When I print from my Mac I select in my Photo program ON1 photo Raw the paper size, sort of paper like glossy, high quality and the colour profile like printer preferred profile. Do I have to select than also at the printer the format, sort of paper and the print quality? Or is the command from the Mac sufficient and does one not also have to select it at the printer. Thanks again for your very good videos. Regards, Daan (from the Netherlands)

      Unfortunately colour management with these printers is pretty much broken, so results can be problematic - you should just be able to use the computer

    Hello Keith, a last after watching your reviews I bought Canon G570 (in my country they are ended with 70). For me, print results are very good on Canon Photo Paper Pro (the discontinued PR-101), at least matched the quality of local Fujifilm lab prints which makes me very happy.
    So far I've been using this printer for mostly printing papercraft for my son on 200gsm A4 HVS paper (they are called TIK paper here) and printing speed is not so bad.
    As for color accuracy, I think printing from phone somehow gives more accurate colors compared to printing from my laptop, don't know why... Also from numerous prints, printing from phone (Canon Easy Print) prints in high quality while from laptop the default is standard setting which distinguished by darker lines where the inks sprayed overlapped.

      That looks to be a driver issue on the laptop [you don't say win or Mac] - try using the Canon software to print on the laptop?

    I'm thinking of getting the G620 as a first photo printer rather than get into an expensive 6+ colour 13x19. The xp 15000 is an option but with much higher ink costs.

      Mac or PC use? in this case, it makes a difference (the only printer I've tested for years where it does)

    Good video - as usual. When doing comparisons, like this video, it would be good to be able to see the actual prints so the viewer can see what your explaining... can't compare when you're hand holding, too much movement... just a thought :)

    • @KeithCooper
      @KeithCooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks
      I've looked and found you can't make any but the broadest comparisons on a YT quality video. I'd have to photograph the prints and 'enhance' them to make the difference obvious - no point, I might as well just invent differences ;-)
      Part of my showing them actually in the video is to show how difficult it is making comparisons - if the differences are not obvious, then it's because they usually are not ;-) Obvious differences usually only show when I'm illustrating something that has gone wrong...
      If I was shooting 4k (in a studio) and not via massively compressed HD YT video in my kitchen, then maybe, until then it's me saying there is a difference ;-) ;-)

      Yes, along with many other printers - anyone wanting borderless should always read the printer specifications with care

    Hello Kieth, hope you are doing good. I just got G620. Great little printer. I do have an issue with pizza cutter lines over my 8.5×11 koala photo paper. It doesn't happen with 4×6 Canon photo paper. So I think it's due to the paper and not the printer right? Thank you for all the videos you do!

    • @KeithCooper
      @KeithCooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can happen with some papers - when it happens with Canon papers they will accept it as faulty, but 3rd party ones vary widely in their surface abrasion resistance. Printing at high quality may change it, since the paper gets more of a chance to dry after the ink hits it.
      I've not seen it on any of the 3rd party papers I've profiled with the G550

    Plz review the canon maxify ink tank printer..

    • @KeithCooper
      @KeithCooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope -
      Sorry, but I'm afraid that's an office printer - this G5xx/G6xx series is as low-end as I go. I only really look at specific photo printers and very rarely at A4 size.

      @@KeithCooper sir I'm a new bee at photography..I always follow you..but now I want to start my own photography prints..
      I made my mind to buy canon Pixma pro 300.. reason behind pro 300 is pigment ink..and in india durability and long life is first priority..and we don't have refillable tanks and maximum variety colour available printer..
      So, is there a refillable pigment tank with high resolution printer and it should have variety of different ink at least 8 colour..so that out come is at best quality..

      @@KeithCooper can I refill this printer with pigment ink..?? Can I get the same print out..

    • @KeithCooper
      @KeithCooper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no refillable pigment ink printers.
      If you put pigment inks in to one made for dye then you will need to make all new ICC profiles. It will also possibly damage the printer and kill any warranty
