Fascinating! Thanks for posting!
Am I mistaken? I had believed that the tourbillon was first conceived by John Arnold to better control positional errors in the escapement in his endeavors for the British Admiralty, and that this hadn’t been lost on Bréguet who acknowledged the shared parentage of the tourbillon when he succeeded in producing it. I was looking forward to hearing more about this duo and a bit disappointed that it was ignored by Emmanuel.
It's good to see Jeffrey after such a long time!
This was a great one!
Excellent organization.
very interesting, but the organisers should: a) remind the speakers to talk into the microphone (when they turn their heads sound is compromised), b) the wind noise (for lack of a better term, maybe it was the breath of the speaker?) should be fixed at the microphone.
This is indeed a problem. I really enjoy lecturing at HSNY. There is one easy improvement: instead of a fixed microphone, replace it with a lapel mike.
