I don't understand it much myself since I adore animals, but we gotta respect peoples' fears. I'm terrified of heights, escalators, and cars, but not everyone is gonna be, and not everyone will understand those fears. Similarly, some people are afraid of dogs, and others may not understand or have those fears themselves. It's mostly a subconscious thing, but I agree, dogs are cute!
