The reason Americans don't have electric kettles is that your low 110 volt electricity would take about 20 mins for the kettle to boil! In the UK and the rest of the world we have 230 - 240 volts (I'm in South Africa) and a half kettle of water only takes about 2 mins. Purists put boiling water onto loose tealeaves in a ceramic teapot to steep; the rest of we plebs just pour boiling water onto a teabag in a mug!
A us socket is 15a at 120 which is 1800w more than enough to boil water b and q and Robert dyas sells 1800w kettles here in the UK. The us has 20a outlets in some kitchen so 2400w and also has 240 in the home if necessary.
@@HA05GER I bow to your superior knowledge! I've always been told its the lower voltage that causes Americans not to use or even know of, electric kettles. Here in South Africa we no longer use 15 amp plugs but then our voltage is 230 - 240 volts. We basically follow the UK system, with grounded 3 prong plugs, heavy duty wiring, and independent plug switches. I often wonder why the US elected to follow a low voltage grid with such low quality plugs. Anyway I'm not an electrician so I can't comment further

Yes, I have to agree with the other comments - pets should be treated as part of the family or you shouldn’t have them 🤷🏼♀️ They deserve respect because of that. In the UK, we either have indoor/outdoor cats or indoor cats. The only exception are cats who are purposefully kept on farms, feral, but are fed, to ward off vermin. Of course that may be the case for you but Bo doesn’t sound feral.
Hi JT and Anna, I love watching your videos about the UK and thought you might be interested in knowing about the Channel Islands. Following the Norman invasion of 1066, we became part of Britain. I am from the island called ‘Jersey’ We are famous for our beautiful Jersey cows, which I believe you have in the US. Here’s a fun fact, New Jersey was named after us, How funny is that 😂 our population is currently 103,000 and the island is only 5 miles (8 kilometres) long and 9 miles (14.5 kilometres) wide. There are 7 islands that make up the Channel Islands, Alderney, Sark, Herm, Jethou, Lihou, and Brecqhou are Guernsey's dependencies, and the Ecrehous rocks and Les Minquiers are Jersey's. I would be so grateful if you would consider doing a video about us as we always get missed when TH-camrs do videos about Great Britain. Thank you for the giggles, I wish you both the best in life and keep the videos coming.
JT & Anna, I get the impression you have only had farm cats before and not a fully tame affectionate fur baby? There is nothing better than sleeping with a cat on your bed and waking up to purring cat snuggles. Cat purrs have healing frequencies. Please can you try allowing Bo to have the freedom to be an indoor and outdoors cat? Perhaps get a cat flap?
My experience of waking up to cats is opening my eyes and having him perched on my chest watching me sleep, waiting for me to open my eyes, gazing into my soul with a look of "Feed me, mortal!".
The problem with cat flaps in the US is - AIUI - that when the indoor kitty goes outdoors, coyotes can eat it (even in cities), and racoons can give your cat rabies (even in cities). If you don't have a 'controllable' door, racoons, skunks and oppossums (as well as other cats) can all learn how to use the cat door, and in some parts snakes could use it (although I imagine that'd be accidental rather than 'learned') ... so I imagine that is why combined indoor/outdoor cats are not such a popular pet there as they are here.
Hey you both, yeah, only put water in the kettle, you two are so naturally funny, and Maggie looking over the table was priceless, now you have enough lures so no excuses for not catching fish, keep up your charming ways, sincere hugs to you both and scratches and cuddles to your three furries, may God bless your endeavors, don't lose your innocence, chau for now

Public service announcement for Americans who dont uundestand tea lol, water (only) goes in the kettle, it boils water, for any purpose. A teapot is separate, you pour in the water and put the tea bag in there, it contains multiple servings of tea. You pour the tea out of the teapot and in the cup, then add milk/sugar. Its common to skip the teapot and also drink out of a mug instead of a cup. We also use the kettle for instant coffee which is also popular

Really enjoyed your video... Anna giggle is so funny
I have a question, what did they use to heat water for tea before electricity??? It would be a tea kettle on the stove that's what. I just discovered your channel, I am guessing you like the Highland cows, short story, I saved one, he was in the road, actually a very busy highway, I pulled over and was able to coax him to the yard and closed the gate, he was a very nice fellow.
Hope you like the book xD.
It sounds interesting, I might have a gander later 😊
I might look too 😊
Never heard of boiling milk and chocolate [hot chocolate] in a kettle before in my 62 years on this planet! lol
I bet that smelt good and was a pain to clean! lol
I’ll never get bored of “cheese and rice” reactions.
The book is called a choose your own adventure, there are multiple scenarios to choose from 😊
yay more Anna
Hi both, I'm so glad you liked my gifts. If it helps, Mr. Bob used to cry and call out all the time until I got him castrated. He still calls for me but noway as much as he did. I'm so glad Anna liked the Harry Potter bracelet. It was from a Christmas advent calendar in 2021. I also have one from the year before. The diamond paintings are larger, but we're too funny not to buy and send for Anna. Keep making great videos. L9ve Margaret and the 3 🐈 🐈🐈

A book maker is not an author. The author writes the book.
"Alexa, you wanna find out?"
Them's *fighting* words.
Loving your videos JT and Anna, you are both so lovely. Love from Scotland 😍xx
The cat is healthy, loved, cared for and fed. So people need to stop telling them what to do in their own home. He has his own little home outside.
Now when you say your growing grass,i hope its the lawn variety......😂😂😂

The book reminds me of the 'Fighting,Fantasy' book i used to read moons ago
