The Sacrifice is an intense film. I saw it on VHS video in the 1990s. I called my father, brought it down to where he lived and watched again with my father and step mother (both film buffs) neither of whom had seen Tarkovsky (except for maybe Solaris?) Later my step mother showed Andre Rublev in a theater and hated it... But they liked The Sacrifice... IMHO
