This is an absorbing interview, and for me could have gone on for hours. Such authentic modesty and objectivity about his own contribution, and such humour too. Another fascinating contribution to our knowledge and understanding of the greatest genius in cinema, the like of whom of course we will never see again.

The Sacrifice is an intense film. I saw it on VHS video in the 1990s. I called my father, brought it down to where he lived and watched again with my father and step mother (both film buffs) neither of whom had seen Tarkovsky (except for maybe Solaris?) Later my step mother showed Andre Rublev in a theater and hated it... But they liked The Sacrifice...
