- store.metalmet... - This is from the instructional DVD "Speed Kills" Advanced Shred Techniques by Michael Angelo Batio. This song is taught note-for-note in the No Boundaries program: store.metalmet...
Here are a few answers to common questions. Yep, his guitar has 29 frets. The guitar's name is "The Rocket" and was designed especially for Michael. The dive bomb effect at the end was done using an effect pedal not his whammy bar. This was all performed in a single take. There are no effects or video tricks to speed up this video. Yes ladies and gentlemen, he really is that good.
02:08 to 02:20 has been stuck in my head for over a year in the best way thank God this exists
Fantastic!
His technical precision is beyond comprehension.
absolutely my friend. first time saw the video was frozen.
I am proud to say he is a friend of mine. Follow him on FB and sawtooth guitars
Far beyond the comprehension
I did too. I play guitar and it's still hard for me to believe lol. He's truly amazing. He must have slept with guitars instead of women

I remember watching this video when I was a teenager. Almost 30 now and this still blows my mind. Awesome!
The best parts are from 0:01 to 3:42
Keys to Lamborghini part wasn't good
1:55 WHAT!
I think that run starting at about 2:48 is my favorite part of the piece!
Such a fantastic run. Love it when he starts playing the arpeggios over 2 octaves (and even 3 towards the end). Liquid fire.
Mine starts at 3:21
Same. Sounds like you're being blasting into outer space. Unreal. That's also the hardest of the 27 parts of the song to learn, at least for me. He says the most difficult section is right after the Paganini excerpt because it's a three string alternate picking riff. But this one for me, is way harder. This song is a melodic shred masterpiece
Kinda sounds like an intense pokemon battle
the guy is insanely ambidextrous
He and Yngwie inspired me so much that I switched to bass guitar in the 80's 🤣
This is not only technical!
It has some of the most beautiful, inspiring melodies ever
Right? It’s not just mindless scale riffing
He is one or even the best guitarist I've ever seen, no lie like I'm a good drummer, but this is beyond comprehension
@@cranklabexplosion-labcentr8245 no it's not. This one is based on Paganini caprice 5th, though Batio himself during his lessons wants his students to be able to play slowly what they play fast "otherwise you don't know what the heck you played".
Good
I love how 2:37 onwards is basically a 90s game boss scene XD
The best part to me is
Fantastic tune. Is he using a Whammy pedal??
This guitar neck's surface temperature is over 100'C
From 2:08 - 2:19 is the most epic guitar riff I have ever heard in my entire life. I could listen to it over a thousand times a day and I would still get goosebumps. After I heard this, I was highly convinced that Michael is one of the best guitarists on planet earth today!
You'd love bach!
Do you know the name of the piece its from?
@@pfree8512 Nah man sorry
@@renjayc8817 Found it, Paganini Caprice no.5
@@pfree8512 Right. I listened to Caprice no. 5 a few days ago and noticed I knew that riff from somewhere. I soon realized it was from No Boundaries and came here to verify. I've known this song for a long time and didn't know about the Paganini citation.
11 years later.... I'm still here. Fuck.
perfect for ace combat soundtrack
This is definitely my favorite version of this song!
1:08
Yes
The speed of his picking hand is ridiculous
02:04 sickest breakdown ever
I have to learn this
1:08 and 2:08🥰
WAW. .!!!!
This whole video series was great. Some of the best advice of the whole guitar mag era. I also really like this song.
Fucking Shawn Michaels, he plays guitar really well !!
Yes, it's the same version as the Speed Kills demonstration video. We thought people would enjoy the song No Boundaries without the lesson demonstration.
TBH the best part of the original is Michael telling us he's gonna give the key to the Lamborghini before he shreds our faces off.
this tune never gets old
@spectrox21 Thanks very much. I'm glad you're enjoying our stuff. We really enjoy putting the lessons together. I'm currently working on a new one right now.
I practiced the stuff in his lessons and I only got the keys to a Volvo
Speed does kills
2:38 Sounds like a Mega Man X soundtrack 👏👏👏👏
al tracks of megaman X are metal!!!! just like "metal slug"
1:10 to 1:35 is my fav riff, sick breakdown.
a true heavy METAL guitar!
drummer: nice michael. easy, steady, keep it that way...
1:34
drummer: oh for the love of god, here we go again..
noface thank you for this comment. I’m dying of laughter.

Obra prima! O mestre dos mestres!
There was actually some melody in there without all the bullshit this time. Good job.

I met MAB back in 2004, nice guy. Amazing player ❤
Good bless you, your lessons are gold
@F1FT3EN
I know, I tripped the fuck out after seeing that too. It looks like they sped the video up on that, but if you look at his head it shows that its still goin at normal speed. Fuckin crazy!

10/10 comment
Batio
Rusty Cooley
Guthrie
Nick Sm Rusty and Batio are both really gud
Idk, I'd like to see Rusty shred as clean as Batio did here. Not saying he can't do it, but I've only seen a few videos of him playing, and it wasn't really as clean and, well, "mechanical" as MAB.
But Guthrie is a monster, speed-wise maybe even comparable to Batio.
Dr. Florence guthrie is super clean like mab thats is their superpower. Playing fast and very clean
how many frets...?
yes
1:45
no boundraries is right !
He doesn't even have to think
it's so clean.....
2:26 the true warrior scream !
Hi Michael!
Best wishes for your birthday!
I wish you a lot of inspiration, health, wealth and speed of course ;)
In 1993❤❤❤
BEST SWEEP PICKING EVER!!!!
👍👍👍👍
Malmsteen or Michael?
He.. He's Still Looking Fastest & Hottest 💫
2:00
00:01-00:04 what music?
I've only just now realized he's wearing a Gold's Gym shirt.
Come on now, this guy is taking the p155
i really love the sweep picking he does at 1:05 to 1:30 so cool
I love that part too but is so hard for me
Just like he said, this is an instructional song, you get to train your licks and still making music. MAB the genius.
What overdrive pedal is he using in this video?is it a boss sd1?
It's a custom guitar called "The Rocket" with 29 frets
Bro momento, they literally said it on the description
They used real fighter plane aluminium in the making of this guitar!
Yes. Aliens do live among us.
GOD

No wayyy this nuclear reaktor ✨😮
Slapping technique 👏👏👏
I'm giving you the keys to the Lamoborghini!
That hand flapping skill is one of a kind.
1:45..
WTF
Those are phantom notes. He's actually playing only one string. It only looks flashy at first but listen close.
@@russelrenznerosa8969 Agree. He is not pushing the frets at all.
watched this like 10 times now and are still amazed.
that guitar is actually also the key to the death star
99.9% of guitarists worldwide will never become this great in a lifetime. He's the Michael Jordan of guitarists. I don't know what else to say, phenomenal and fucking mind blowing skills.
Nah he's a beast, but I still think Yngwie Malmsteen was the greatest guitarist of all time.
2 gods for sure, i like more MAB just because his person, such a sweet dude
Jason Becker
Allan Holdsworth, Guthrie Govan.
Michaelangelo of guitarists. Lol
Who else recognises Top Gear's theme at 02:46?
Não é só velocidade muito rico musicalmente também....
THIS MAN IS LIVING LEGEND WHY AMERICA DOESNT GET THIS??????????????????????????????????????????????whywhywhy
so good !!!!!
1:47 when you skip the game tutorial
Mang uu preman pensiun 😍
How he achieve the dive bomb at the end? He is not using the whammy bar.
One of my fave players and a damn nice guy!
I’ve heard so many people say he’s a good guy. I love hearing that.
I've seen him live. He has really cool sense of humor
Jajaja! Este video me trae muy buenos recuerdos, me lo enseñó por primera vez mi amigo Gustavo. Saludos Latinoamérica!
Here's my plug. The Speed Kills 2010 DVD is available at metalmethod (dot) com. Check it out.
Ah MAB. My biggest inspiration ever
