I am so excited to have this out! I think this is my first time having a guide series that goes beyond part 1. Part 3 of the Intermediate Guide will be an in-depth analysis of the Thief class, its unique interactions, and which missions are the most/least doable without it. Anyway if you're wondering how this series got its name, here is how I would classify basic skill levels (for stealth) Beginner- Can generally do lower difficulty missions, though with lots of mistakes or very slow. May not be able to complete certain missions at all. May or may not be capable of doing the easier Legend stealth missions, but generally Legend is out of reach. Intermediate- Can generally complete missions in all difficulties including Legend, though the harder missions may take some effort. Makes minor mistakes and uses sub-optimal strategies sometimes. Generally understands the steps needed for most missions but doesn't know the game inside out. Advanced- Legend stealth is considered easy, can do at least some of the easier armed/armored missions. In Ironman Legend Mixed, should be able to stealth BS/FN/DP/WD as an Infiltrator. Tryhard- Anything above advanced
Infiltrator and technician are basically the same, I honestly feel like people just hate on the opposite class for no reason, all of the arguments made here can almost be said about infiltrator, I personally think both are evenly useful.
@@duck6014 The technician doesn't have the 50% disguise effectiveness you get from the theif The technician also doesn't have access to lockpicking. Drilled doors are sus and get detected extremely quick. These 2 issues make the scientist, lakehouse, financier worse in every single way in which the detection rate is pretty high in general.
@@erner_wisal ok...? I didn't say anything about having multiple characters, I said that in a nutshell a technician doesnt compare with the infiltrator in stealth except in wd.
1:17 As an engineer (breacher) main, the basement door is the only door you shouldn’t bypass it’s sensors and open it in the deposit. That’s because any guards with keycard or no keycard can open this door if you open the vault. If you’re solo’ing this mission and bypassed AND opened the basement door then you’re gonna be having a trouble cuz in legend or any difficulties, there will be guard(s) (cam operators are not included) with keycard opening the inside-basement door and a guard with no keycard opening the outside-basement door due to the outside-basement door not having a keycard reader. This will… well, fail stealth if you haven’t hid the basement bodies. But however, it’s better if there are 2 players or more in your server (who can co-operate with you) and you can tell them to guard the door. You can do any methods or stuffs to prevent this but I won’t mention it or else this’ll turn into a wikipedia page. *Moral story, the basement door is highly unreliable.* Edit: You can bypass the sensors on upstairs cam operator if you’re on elite or legend, [Insert some understandings]
The only big difference with thief and engineer is one that has a lockpick to most doors that can just be drilled with precision drilling, and one that opens most doors that thief cannot open, just makes me feel that thief/infiltrator is a bit meh since u can commonly open doors with keycards and such (and drill the doors) you might be saying "Oh but what about the scientist", theres a back door that mostly noone goes to, but i would say thief is good for early, since low leveled players wont have precision drilling and may have slow drilling speed, and then it already depends on you if you still wanna stick with infil or tech (also i forgor💀 about killhouse, rip technicians, unless you duo with a infil)
Unof you should’ve mentioned the fact that the engineer skill tree allows you to access breaching charges and blowtorches easier as it requires less skill points to obtain them, it is an extremely useful thing to note especially for early game players or those who want to spend more skill points on something else useful
If you want to use Engineer in stealth then get the Prodigy perk as well to become a Technician. I would say the engineer is only useful in the Withdrawal. Well anyways what I said earlier was for normal gameplay. If you are more of a challenge guy then you can get the Breacher. It can be useful for doing Deposit no knockouts no kills (Which requires wallbang lol), Setup no disguise etc.
About the engineer, it can be one of the most useful assets in both loud and stealth. The C4 is one of the best features of the engineer as it poses as an all-round breaching tool and the best defensive stronghold in the game. Sensor shutdowns are also useful in all cases and just because a method exist doesn't make it the only one. Engineer is as good as the other classes.
I usually use a breacher. For me, I feel like the only essential class is the thief. It doesn’t matter if you are a hacker or engineer as both are only good for convenience. While engineers can’t hack computers or keycard readers, neither are required for a stealth mission. Also, since everyone uses infiltrator, it means going in a duo will likely mean I’ll have an infiltrator too. Also, breathers are much better in an iron man mixed run than an infiltrator will be. I feel that in the end it doesn’t matter what class you pick as both have their upsides and downsides.
1. Good luck doing The Cache without a hacker. 2. There is very little difference between breacher and infiltrator in loud. Both lack the +40 hp that mercenaries have and both would have some stealth perks instead of focusing only on loud perks. The +10% movement speed is negligible since most of the time will be spent staying behind cover (like behind Rose for example).
I understand some may want to play the engineer for stealth because leveling up multiple characters at once is a bit hard but you don't play Engi for stealth you play fro breach charges/c4 and the fire bug and other cool stuff and if you have juggernaut you are a one man army get the thumper, f47/saw-blade(if you want),and ammo vest and some weapon mastery perks and you can loud a level solo in minutes he is not made for stealth he is a fast breacher with good defense
in the deposit engineer on the basement door also isnt very useful since when you open the vault the stupid ai decides to go outside through the back instead of the stairs
