I’m a single mom of two and this guy is awesome! I am finally able to fix some things around my home that have been neglected for a few years. My dad knew how to do everything but a few years ago, had a stroke and is not able to help or tell me how to fix anything. I have no extra money to hire a handyman. So THANK YOU so much for doing these awesome videos!!! So far I fixed my genie garage opener, learned how to stop the toilet water from overflowing when plugged and next I’m going to change out my electric socket because my vacuum plug has wrecked it. I’m still looking through all the videos because I have a list of 20+ things to fix.
Update: 7-10-22! It works! Great video right to the point. Make sure you do the double send send then the last send! And the tip about not opening the lid all the way was great as well!

Worked like a charm. Reset and reprogrammed my dad's keypad. Also distributed physical keys. And programmed my van to open it! We will never be locked out again! (Famous last words.)

I was ready to just take the keypad off the door jamb and throw it away. Your video walked me through literally in a couple minutes and the code change worked flawlessly.

Watched a few videos and yours was the clearest so I used it but during the first two steps to clear the existing codes it didn’t work. After holding down 8 and program key I then tried to input the 3-5-7 Program keys but nothing happened no matter how many times I tried. So I went to another video and saw a key difference that made it work: Between the 8-Program key step and the 3-5-7 Program key step the other videographer closed the cover and then opened it. After opening it he then inputted the 3-5-7-Program keys and it worked. So just thought I’d share this important and apparently key step.

Thank you for posting this. As am aside, I absolutely hate this particular pad because of exactly what you said: the cover needs to be at some specific position to operate. I always have to fiddle with it to find that spot. Question: can you recommend a replacement that DOESN'T have this slide cover/position problem? Thanks for your help.
Thanks for video, if you loose a remote and worried about someone finding it and opening your door if you go through this setup with new code does it cancel out the other remotes and makes a new code. Thanks
Hey guys, you are sure you have the cover open where the small momentary button behind the cover is being pressed? If that button is not depressed then the process will not work.
Love your tutorial! Question: how to I set 2 single garage doors with the same code. It use to let me type in code and send 1 or send 2, but now I don’t know how to reset them separately like that. I was successful in getting them to work but one or the other will open/close. lol. TIA

Great video. Thank you. I was able to reprogram the door at the house I just bought. Only issue I have is when I changed the door code it seemed to make the remote stop working. So I followed the steps in the manual to pair the remote and now the door code won’t work. Any suggestions? Michael
The garage addition is 19 years old but I am not certain how old the door openers are. The learn button black and the light is red. I have the multi button remote control.
Everyday Home Repairs I ended up clearing all the programs, and starting with a new slate. It worked just fine. I must have had a full memory. Thank you for your response.

I had the same problem. I just slid the cover off completely and manually pressed the button the cover comes in contact with. Finally it worked.
