If you aim a Jacky attack at max range it does 1 damage
For Hanks first gadget, they should make the slow last longer depending on how big his bubble is.
It was originally like that, idk why they changed it to be the same at any distance
I'd like this just so that he can have more unique gadgets, because he currently has both gadgets that are basically identical to Crow. One slows enemies for 3 seconds with his next attack, the other is literally a one-to-one carbon copy of Crow's Defense Booster gadget.
Both Hank's mechanics and design is super unique. I'm looking forward to unlocking him, he's got so much potential. I love the new update so much especially because I'm mostly f2p 🤣 Thanks Kairos for this awesome series!

His super damage isn't necessarily limited to 3 hits per target - it's just that the bots you tested on had only enough health for 3 shots to hit them and then the rest continue flying. This feature is so that if you hit a target with a shot like gale's that only has 300 health left or something the rest of the bullets can continue on and potentially hit another target.
His Results in the tests really are one in a krillion

To be fair I think his super should be two torpedoes that go in front of him. Something similar to brock’s main attack with ruffs main attack with same damage would be cool. Would help him burst a bit better

Let me guess, he also deals damage to enemy on top of him when activating his super
8:20 you can see him dealing 4500 damage with 2 out of 6 torpedoes hitting. There is definitely a secret seventh torpedo hitting a target directly ontop of him. I thought maybe an enemy within the area shown when aiming his super takes bonus damage, but at 2:47 you can see that is not the case.
The super aim range is the instant damage it deals and torpedoes do additional damage. So one torpedo at point blank does 3000 but at range it’s still 1500

8:24 Actually it only hits with 3 projectiles because that's how many are needed to kill the bot. If he had more hp, I'm sure it would hit all 6.

All 6 would hit if the brawler has big hitbox. In theory it would be impossible for all 6 projectiles to hit unless enemy is stunned or afk
tested this out in nulls brawl, he definitely can hit more then 3. he deals like 6k-ish damage

when gadgets were released, they were supposed to be unique abilities, fast forward til today and count how many gadgers do the same thing but in different ways and with different names, his gadget is a good example of that

Since when were gadgets supposed to be unique? I seem to remember Shelly, Max, and Tick all doing a dash along with Rico and Spike having a bunch of projectiles that shoot away from them in a bunch of different directions.
And honestly I think having some gadgets do similar things isn't as bad as you're making it out to be, especially when said gadget is something basic and useful like a damage reduction shield or health over time. Sometimes we see the opposite problem where the devs got too creative with a gadget and the gadget ended up being borderline unusable, prime example being RT's gadget that sends a projectile between his head and body.
When was this ever a thing, they were meant to be extra abilities. No where did they imply they'd be unique

There's one important design aspect that isn't mentioned in this video.
Because of how Hank's attack charges and how he actually can't hit enemies if they are right on top of him, he struggles at point-blank range with his normal attack.
However, his super compensates that, allowing him to deal damage whenever he need and also making him able to deal (lots of) damage in point-blank range.
Tl;dr, Hank's super works more like a secondary weapon for situations that he cannot solve with his main attack.

When I first saw Hank in the Brawl Talk I thought he was going to be so bad, but since he's able to hit enemies through walls with his main attack, I think he'll be at the very least usable under the right circumstances.
The only reason why I'm still a bit of a Hank doubter despite what Kairos said in the video is because I feel like he's going to be countered by a sizeable portion of the brawlers in the game. I can already tell that Slows, knockbacks, and stuns are going to be the bane of Hank's existence, which is not good when the vast majority of brawlers have at least one ability that has any of those 3 effects.
Don't get me wrong, I still think he'll be super fun to play, I just don't think he'll be as good as Kairos is making him out to be, though I'm not a pro by any means so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Hank is kind of a weird brawler mechanic wise. I also believe he will be a hard brawler to master.
He should have been the chromatic honestly. But they are both very difficult to master.

What I would see to make his super better is a slower projectile but target seeking, or just more projectile per super
I think his super is fine. He's good at other things and while the super isn't a reliable ranged attack, he can use it upclose and deal 3k - 4500 dmg instantly which basically covers his weakness of having weak burst dmg
Yeah the super sucks. Its basically a replica of one of the worst gadgets in the game lol. Hopefully it gets reworked sooner rather than later!
The super isn't bad but it IS very bland, it's useful for deal extra damage quickly and basically finishing off enemies (sometimes even at a distance)

I fear that Hank might become the next Lola or RT: he has an incredibly unique mechanic, but players will probably just spam his attack at minimum range.
At max hank will be a MID brawler don't get your hopes too high yet.

Hanks super is literally just a degraded version of crows super and spikes gadget, so technically he LITERALLY has the uniqueness of legendary brawlers
No, that's common for epics to have weird attacks
- Pam has 9 projectiles that are wisely spread. No one else has that.
- Piper deals heavy dmg from afar but not upclose.
- Frank is tanky but can't move while attacking.
- Bibi has the homerun bar that knocks away others.
- Bea has one ammo that charges super fast, she starts with a weak shot but charges a big shot if she lands the weaker one. A unique way to keep her versatile.
- Nani has a very unique attack pattern which' travel distance can be controlled like a thrower.
- Edgar has a life leach mechanic
- Griff... Ok his attack is not as unique but its supposed to be a mix of Shelly and Pam. I think he'd fit a Super Rare more while Carl could be Epic.
- Grom's attack pattern is unique for a thrower.
- Bonnie has one ammo but to not bee too similar to Bea her dmg doesn't vary.
- Emz's attack is acctually unique. It deals 3 ticks of dmg every 0.5 s and lingers on the field for a moment giving her an amazing control over crowd.
- Bo shoots 3 projectiles that explode on impact or when reaching their max travel distance.
- Stu's attack is boring but he's all about his super which charges itself with just one shot.
Mortis was introduced as an Epic brawler but his rarity was changed to Mythic. He can dash and pierce with his main attack alone unlike some brawlers who do that with their supers (Bull & Collete). Also the ammo bar thing.
There's more to Epics than just their attacks and it's not the primary reason why they're this specific rarity.
Brawl Devs should have a specific criteria for what dictates the rarity of a brawler
From what we've learned (from SC themself and our experience) is that the brawler's rarity is higher the more unique the brawler's mechanics/gimmicks are.
Starter brawler is just Shelly. A very simple and boring brawler, perfect for a new player.
Trophy Road was just rares but it was also supposed to introduce you to brawler classes.
You got a damage dealer with better range than Shelly,
a mid-range spawner with a pet,
A simple tank,
A spawner but with a turret,
A sniper,
A thrower,
A long range dmg dealer AND a support,
Rares are the most basic ones with cool abilities but are very simple.
Super rares are fairly basic mechanics but with more depth. Often are just alternate takes on already existing brawlers that make them more unique.
Epic brawlers have very unique main attacks and generally strong/useful supers. They are made to be strong and with specific roles.
Mythical brawlers are mostly there for their unique abilities with high potential to turn the games around. They mostly consist of the support class and naturally aren't so easy to use.
Legenadry brawlers have very unique abilities. They aren't always the strongest competitively like Epics or as game changing as mythics but are really fun and awesome.
Chromatic rarity is technically not higher than legendary or any rarity.
it's an amalgamation of all of them. The brawlers there are made to interesting to promote the game.
Unique cases are:
- Colt was the first ever designed brawler but was too hard to be the starter brawler so Shelly took the role of that.
- Tick was meant to be a mythic but a kamikaze pet isn't really worth a mythic rarity
- Bo is now an Epic again. He's more about his unique mines, not MA.
- Mortis had a unique attack hence why he was epic.
- Spike was the only brawler with a slow. Now he's not unique but is dev team's favorite and the mascot of the game so it's fair enough to have him as a legendary.
- Gus is a super rare only cause he was released at around the same time as an epic and a legendary were coming so devs spared us the grinding. Imo he does feel like a super rare. I mean, we have Carl (why is Carl not an epic?).
