@@AlanisKinghey Alanis...just found this video and instantly subbed your channel. I think u are so cool and how cool is it to ride with THE JEFF GORDON...one of the serious NASCAR legends! Thanks for sharing...looking fwd to more! Hell yeah!
You can tell how excited I am about this because my mouth is just open the whole time. This was the experience of a lifetime. Some extra context that's not in the onboard footage: We did this at Ten Tenths Motor Club, which is a new track from Speedway Motorsports and Rick Hendrick. Jeff Gordon helped design it, and I've heard that when Rick is really excited about something, he brings the G56 car out. That's what happened here. Everyone - Rick, Jeff, and the Speedway Motorsports folks - stayed at the track all day hanging out and mingling. It was wild to attend such a casual event with such big names who stayed all day. Usually, big names (in any industry) dip out of events through side door after a short appearance. You could tell they were genuinely excited about this. The track officially opens in 2025. You’ll also notice we had to park the car temporarily. The rear gear was set too tall for a track this short, causing the RPMs to drop when we launched. The oil pressure dropped and put it into protection mode. Nothing serious, just an ECU/tuning issue! Thanks for watching, everyone ❤
I'll also add that my husband got in the car with Jeff when he had to park it for some diagnostics, and Jeff talked to him for like half an hour. It made him sooooo happy
I grew up in the mid-90s to late-00s not paying very much attention to sports at all, motor or otherwise, so Jeff Gordon and his 24 car was the only racecar driver and specific racecar of any sort I had any knowledge of or could name due to the media presence. Glad to see he's still around and doing fine.
Being at La Sarthe the year they fielded this car was an amazing experience. I would become a giddy, bouncing child every time it went by. It sounded like nothing else on the track. All the prototypes would scream by like F1 cars, all the Porsches and Ferraris would wizz by sounding like how you think a race car would sound, and then this thing would THUNDER past like being at a concert and standing in front of the bassist's amplifier. I hope that they, or another team, bring something similar in the future. Racing needs more variety
To ride alone with Jeff Gordon, what a treat that would be! I'd want him to drive like he did in that Pepsi commercial. You're a lucky girl Alanis! I did a ride alone for a few laps at the Michigan International Raceway and that was amazing! I always kept thinking that the ass end was going to come around. My driver put me right against the wall at what felt like 200 miles per hour. An experience I will never forget.
Wow!!! What an amazing thing you got to do. I’ve been a fan of Hendrick Motorsports for a long time now and I’ve been a very big supporter and follower of that Garage 56 car since it was rumored. I still have yet to see that media/demo car in person, let alone hear its roar. I wasn’t able to make it to LeMans for the race either. I can only hope that someday, I will get lucky enough to see and hear this car in person. I was however, fortunate enough to see the actual car (sitting still on display - never started it either - during the Rolex 24 at Daytona) that did the 24 Hour race and it still has all of its dirt and grime all over the car preserved. Maybe someday, I’ll get to see that very car in person. I just wish I had a way of knowing where and when that car will show up.
My son and I got to see the raced Garage 56 car in the Hendrick shop back in April, and also met Jeff that day! It was an absolutely incredible experience to say the least. Jeff is such a personable, down to earth guy, and he made us feel so comfortable and welcomed being there. Definitely something we'll never forget!
As it shot flames and backfired occasionally on hard deceleration. Then jump back on the gas and start pulling violently again. Over and over and over, all night long baby! Yeah whooo!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving treat! Thanks for sharing this epic ride-along, always have and always will be a diehard Gordon fan. Almost 10 years after he retired, I haven't even tried to find another driver to actively root for like I did JG. #24Ever
Looks like a blast! Did this on a Motorcycle in my neighborhood the year I moved into my current house before the Truck Race at Eldora which got me pumped up for that race! Great video Alanis!
Awesomeness!!! I know the feeling. I won a ticket to Ride of a Lifetime at Laguna Seca with Mario Andretti leading the small group. This has to be on everyone’s f*cket list. One ride in a modern Indy 500 open cockpit chassis will absolutely blow your mind, totally indescribable.
Would love it if Nascar did more of this. High end sports car racers generally look down on Nascar vehicles. If they went and smacked them around in thier own game..... Epic
Thanks for the holiday treat---Happy Thanksgiving, Alanis! But I didn't realize the car had doors that open...or was that something they rigged up post-LeMans to give ride-alongs?
I'm not a NASCAR fan, but even I'd be starstruck by being a passenger in a hot lap being driven by Jeff Gordon. That's a crazy opportunity. The car looks like it can crush a windy road course, which is pretty rad. Fantastic video. Super fun.
I grew up in the South and my parents once bought me a Jeff Gordon NASCAR die-cast toy car. The amount of comments I got on that thing from adults was outrageous. He is not well-liked here, but he seems like a great guy haha!
Honestly, Jeff should be one of the drivers at Le Mans. No offense to the rest of the drivers, they're great. But Jeff and Jimmie were the most accomplished drivers and I think them teaming up again one last time would be epic.
@@AlanisKing It is a very long race, his back might not be able to handle it. Back problems plagued him for the last few years he was in Nascar. I'm sure it feels much better now that he's retired but I can imagine being in the car that long would be agonizing.
Jeffy casually doing a lap in a vest and dress shirt is awesome.
RIGHT lol
Yep. Reminds me of the time Ron Fellows took a joy ride in a 333sp in street clothes. Think it was at Mosport.
I thought something looked a little bit off. He looked like a regular dude for a second.
Gordon is dressed like the dadest man on the planet while doing laps...what an absolute inspiration
This is the car that kept everyone at Le Mans awake for the full 24 hours 😂 Awesome and LOUD sound.
Literally! We were all wide awake
A lap with Jeff freaking Gordon how awesome would that be!
Right! It was amazing

@@AlanisKingNice video! The story about your husband talking to Jeff is really cool!
It's obvious that car doesn't like slow speeds. Once he got going, it sounded perfect!
Yes!
Well, it is a Chevy.
Whats your point
@@bobbyliendo7406 My point, when you get in a Chevy, you get in it to continue to dominate the world of auto racing.
Agreed wasn't sure what direction you were going with it

Ferrari may have won Le Mans but g56 won France
Garage 56, my beloved 😍That wide open smile throughout the whole video tells everything 😁
It was the coooooolest
I love that he gets to drive the car that was pretty much numbered in his honor. Anyway, that sounds like it was an awesome experience
It was seriously the coolest

Hi Alanis! I always love to see that smile on your face! 😄
Hi Francisco! This was so cool. Thank you for your support. I hope you have the best day
That car is incredible. They said people complained because it kept them up all night. That's the best story ever! Nasty!

That sound reminds Panoz cars at Le Mans ! 😊
It's very funny the partnership with TotalEnergies 😊.
I love this so much. That car sounds beautiful as well.
It’s the best
Alright this is awesome! Also is Jeff just wearing the Rick Hendrick cosplay while driving? lmao that's so badass!

It's 39,037 inches, 3,253.8 feet, or 1,084.36 yards, I think.

This is so cool. Makes me think Supercars Australia should do something similar and send a V8 Supercar as a Garage 56 one day

I don't know how this popped up on my phone but I once took a picture with Jeff Gordon's car back in the 1990s. Thank you very awesome 😎 🏳️🏁

this looks amazing! my wife got to do a lap in a ferrari FXX racecar and i was very jealous of her
Oh that rocks. Good for her!
What a dream come true!
It was, truly
I would also be doing tiny happy claps if I was riding in that car.
Impossible not to
That’s awesome! Next goal should be to sit in/start a top fuel funny car or dragster!
How awesome that must have been. My favorite driver growing up and a badass car 👌🏻.

Pretty freaking cool
I have to do the same thing to my Chevy Tahoe radio every now and again…
Barely taking it around the block to warm the tires. Still thrilling. 👍
Nascar should look at this beast and say "yup, that's where we need to go"
I need one! With the ZL1 wing!
Jeff couple times lifting his head up to see over dash 😂
Jeff Gordon was on a Sunday drive. Can you imagine how fast it would be if he pushed the car!

BETTER WHEN THEY HAD CARBS!

When did they build the two seat ride car?
Not sure. Probably been around as long or almost as long as the real car
