I heard on the Marc Maron podcast, that at Bob's funeral, the Rabbi opened it with this joke "I'm sure if Bob was here, he would be wondering the same thing that we all wondering, WHY? Why? Why couldn't be Stamos? RIP Bob Saget.
I take comfort in knowing that the last day(s) of (his) life he felt loved and appreciated. I will miss him and cry for him. But his life was... Wonderful.
To show what a great man Bob was, during Covid… He was telling people to call and leave a message on his cell phone so that he could call them and interview them on his TH-cam show. He took people who seemed to need cheering up and called them and tried to make them laugh during that lonely time for a lot of people. Totally selfless and completely absorbed in making others feel like they were important and wanting them to experience the love and happiness that he did. Making people laugh, when they are feeling their worst is one of the best forms of therapy that those people can have. They don’t want to laugh, but can’t help to with somebody like Bob. His comedy was a way for him to break through to get to know people behind the laughter. Taking his time to talk to people and make everyone around him feel good. Helping them any way he could. Every celebrity should take notes and watch all of the greatness spread by this man. Using his public popularity for good. Almost like a minister, but trying to spread that love and compassion through comedy. Never ducking fans, always willing to talk to anybody about anything. Very few people like him are born to this earth. A true gift to mankind. Proving that, even in the face of adversity, you can still be a happy, gentle and giving human being. Using his celebrity for good, instead of an angle for personal gain. Something you don’t see very often from many celebrities.
So many people on social media only know Bob Saget as Danny Tanner and America's Funniest Home Videos, when the truth is he was so much more than that character. I love that no matter how dirty a comedian he can be, he NEVER humored jokes about the kids he worked with on Full House. He was extremely protective of them. I also love that John Oliver had no clue about Full House as that could have consumed this entire interview.
Me too. I'm listening to his podcasts to help cope with his loss. Listening to them makes it seem like he's still with us, and it makes me happy to know that he did it all out of love for people. I only wish I knew about the podcast before his passing.
I remember being there that night! Great evening. Bob was awesome afterwards and stayed to talk, take photos, and sign books!.... I told him The Comedy Central Roast ruined my childhood, and I thanked him for that! RIP. Thank you for finally uploading this!!!
I absolutely LOATHED Full House. It had all the elements of everything i found nauseating: cutesy-pie vomit-inducing twins, John Stamos, painfully predictable sitcom writing, goody-goody aw-shucks endings. And then i discovered the true Bob Saget and all was forgiven. Thank you, Bob, you were magnificent.
It very genuinely blew my mind when I discovered a few years ago that America's Funniest Home Videos was STILL GOING. I'd assume it even likely still is today. my first reaction was like, isn't that concept basically TH-cam now?? lol Who is actually bothering to coordinate with that show? I was stunned, it seemed like the most obviously obsolete show that could exist.
Easily one of the most beautiful and hilarious things I've seen in a long time, two great comics, I watch John Oliver almost daily but been watching Bob for a lifetime ❤️, RIP Bob
This was absolutely amazing! Reinforces what a great man we've lost... but is also a great example of why he was so great! He loved making people laugh, while never wanting to be cruel. God bless him!
Bob was the comedian’s comedian… it’s incredible… this man wasn’t a mainstream draw, but had some of the funniest men and women in comedy clamoring for tickets to his specials!!! I mean, that’s just absolute respect… rest well, Bob… we miss you
i honestly think this was the funniest interview i have seen in my life. not exaggerating. those two, so brilliantly intelligent (what a breath of fresh air!!) and silly and surreal and so quick in comebacks and finding the funny in such an eloquent and witty way, all while not avoiding the low and vulgar (but not malicious and never demeaning) ... just perfection.
Fuck man, I can't believe my childhood is now definitely over, th best most frequent memory was Friday nights AFV with Bob Saget and Fullhouse. Thank you sir, Thank you for everything.
This was so entertaining. I'd argue that people who make you laugh are incredibly valuable. Bob's my uncle...and the thought that anyone hurt him really saddens me. The world is a little less sane because he's not in it.
@@Shelora Yes, it was. And it wasn't the star-studded roast many probably thought it would be. There were some jokes, but nothing really for broadcast.
hebrew school is definitely a good place to practice comedy ... i got the laughs that John Oliver said were the best kind, the ones that preceded you getting thrown out 😎
Omg. These two. I can’t believe I found this. I didn’t like Full House. To be honest, I never watched it but you’d have to have lived in a cave not to see bits and pieces on commercials. But I was not the target audience. I loved Funniest Home Videos and even though Bob’s jokes were corny, his voice overs were awesome.
The voice overs were the best part of the show! Most people say there's a Simpsons quote for everything. There's a Bob Saget voice over for a lot of things in life.
He seemed like a great man..too bad..bad things often happen to good people. But that's life, I guess. RIP, Bobby. Your courageous fight against sclerema will continue.
in the back of my head i never gave bob the attention as a comic because of full house but wow! dude a comedian! all his little out burst to any oliver comment , he looking for the joke haha
everybody talks about full House like America's funniest videos never happened. his corny comedy was genius and I thought it was a perfect venue for him.
I went to a funeral and the best part was when one of the deceased’s cousins went up and did about 10 minutes of stories from them growing up and all the shit he used to give her and the pranks he pulled on her. It was actually kind of shocking because she had Spina bifida and couldn’t walk and he’d just mess with her all the time, but like in a sweet way. Anyway, it was pretty awesome. People were crying and laughing and laughing so hard they’d start crying. I hope my funeral is like that.
loved and appreciated the Greg Giraldo shout out. There are still to this day only two celebrities whose death announcement made me genuinely cry, and I mean more than just getting teary. The actor John Spencer from The West Wing, and the comic Greg Giraldo. I've certainly been quite sad at many breaking news points since of different entertainers, but those are the only times full on tears came. and when Bob Saget participated in the little documentary program that Comedy Central produced dedicated to Giraldo, his demeanor was very much generally like it is here, so I think he's a guy that unless he's strictly within his preferred element of straight up performing, he's rather uncomfortable. Every time the documentary cut to him speaking he sounded like he was second guessing his worthiness right as he was talking, there's even literally a point where he kinda gives up halfway during a sentence because he doesn't feel like it's good enough and says right to the camera "I dunno, you should probably cut to Sarah Silverman right about now". And, the project having a smart editor, did exactly that.
he so funny. he is trying his best to not bust out laughing at his own jokes and that just makesthem that much more funnier. i cant laugh any harder xD
OMG PURE GENIUS, FUCKEN BRILLIANT, THE TWO OF THEM TOGETHER 🔥🔥🔥🔥...... Somebody please tell me when it actually filmed? Looking at John's hair color, years ago
Memo to whomever filmed and/or edited this: There is NO point in cutting away to the audience when the lighting is so low that the audience can't be seen.
My husband and I attended this. It was a Christmas gift. We met Bob the day after at Barnes and Nobles for a book signing.
17:30
Very COOL
COOL
Who cares..
When was this?

2FUNNY:)
I'm a diabetic, I was taking an injection, and had to stop at great personal pain to laugh with Mr. Saget. Worth it.
I take comfort in knowing that the last day(s) of (his) life he felt loved and appreciated. I will miss him and cry for him. But his life was... Wonderful.
Bob Saget Enron
It does suck when funny people die.
My condolences to the Saget family.

Both great comics and beautiful human beings. It really, REALLY hurts losing Bob Saget.
Them discussing comedians dying...so painful and ironic now.
This is the best kind of re-upload. This type of thing makes them immortal.

I completely agree. It is so different from the show. Thank God.
Even AFV jokes were sooo cringy. I was about 14 when I discovered that Bob Saget is a filthy genius
May he rest in peace.

Bob liked Donna Reed. I think that is why he chose to do "Full House".
Bob was a treasure. He will be sorely missed.

Total revelation to me. Now l know why all the other comedians are so stunned.

Couch Slouch?
Solid advice: “bail out, bail out, listen to your heart” awesome!
This was great to watch RIP Bob.
R.I.P. to bob he was a great comedian he will be remembered

This is so uncomfortably much fun, ridiculous...it's so sad this man has left us.
This is so fantastic 🤣
RIP Bob 😭

"Return to Sender" at a funeral? I'm definitely using that.
The world really lost a unique one. RIP bob.
"My mother actually wrote it....she likes deadlines" Amazing wit, RIP Bob
Bob's funeral should be released as a posthumous comedy special.
It was a small, private affair, apparently.
@@Shelora Yes, it was. And it wasn't the star-studded roast many probably thought it would be. There were some jokes, but nothing really for broadcast.
Brilliant chat with a brilliant man........R.I.P to John Oliver......It hasn't happened yet but just you bastards wait
Brilliant craic, cheers for uploading
Wow. Thanks. This is brilliant. John didn’t know about LAUGH IN tv show. That’s a surprise
what a legend.
ok, thats the last of these that I can watch for a while. rip
The good ones always leave to soon....Oliver should be with us for a long time still
🤣🤣
hebrew school is definitely a good place to practice comedy ... i got the laughs that John Oliver said were the best kind, the ones that preceded you getting thrown out 😎
"I've not done one of those things" - My laugh scared my neighbours, probably, when I heard this. I was not expecting it.
This man is infantile, absurd, and I love him for it!
They could’ve been in a sitcom together. John Olive as a long lost broke cousin who comes to live with Bob. Would’ve been a hit! RIP Mr. Saget

“Comedy can help you survive”. Tell that to Bob Saget.
He would appreciate this. Bravo
Ouch. Lol❣️

ive seen them both quite a bit, i've never seem them so giggly and laughing at jokes before they even get to them. I swear they're high lol
Bob's book: nearly as many Dick Jokes as Madeleine Albright's memoir.
Trump has a whole section of photos on his new book about it
Luv Bob RIP. Full house gave me cause to go out on Friday night and do bad things 😉
That was highly entertaining.

The Matt Lauer stuff it's funny for a whole new reason now

Does anyone remember watching Red Skeletons show or Filp Wilson Geraldine
I remember Flip Wilson - my friend and I used to listen to his stuff on vinyl sometimes. Funny stuff.
I've never watched a single episode of Full House, so I've never seen the clean side of Saget. I don't thing John has either!
