First time I heard evanescence was my immortal in 2002 and after that I was hooked on em. When fallen came out (8th grade for me) I fell in love with music and lyrics. Origins and Fallen changed my life at a young age, leading me into writing lyrics and singing in the halls with my guitar. My GOD, I have been literally searching for like 16 years for this song. This is the version I remember having on my ipod back early in 2004/2005, and I lost my old computer. However, anytime I've looked for this song afterwards, I've always heard a different version where I could just tell by the instrumentation alone in the first 5 seconds that it WASN'T the same as I heard in 2004/2005. Thank you for posting this. It has taken me FOREVER to find this version, which means so much to me for reasons I can't even explain...all those years ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you. SO much.
there are actual 5 versions of My Immortal. There are the five versions of this song listed below. If you listen to all the different versions you can really hear how Amy Lee's voice and the song in a whole have evolved and changed over the years. 1. My immortal original 2.My immortal origin 3.My immortal mystary 4.My immortal band version 5. My immortal album version All are very similar in their composition with subtle tonal differences and pacing but the original version deviates the most. In fact most people listening to the song wont even be able to differentiate one version from the other (aside the original version) because they're just that similar. The Mystary version is by far the quietest and doesn't have the orchestral background that the band and album versions have and the band and album are the most well-known, but the Original and Origin version being the lesser known

Her vocals seem more haunting in this version.
This version is on Fallen just the acoustic part is taken out.
It’s the same vocal and piano take they used for Fallen.
She was much younger in this version-and also recorded in a smaller studio
