  • Government has come under fire for abandoning the pursuit of the ideals in the Common’s Charter of 1969 that was launched by former President Milton Obote. According to retired Assistant Bishop of Kampala Dr. Zac Niringiye, the diversion from the Common Man’s Charter has led to poor social service delivery and disunity. Bishop Niringiye was preaching in Kampala during the eighth memorial prayers in honour of Uganda’s first president Dr. Apollo Milton Obote who died on this day in 2005.
