The little brass on the right is the water contact. Once in contact with water it will go into 'dive" mode, the thing on the left center is the pressure sensor. Nice vid. It glows because you cant shine a flashlight at your watch and look at it on night dives, so you make it glow with your flashlight. Sound travels x4 times underwater so alarms are well heard. Enjoyed your content
The original AQUALAND Jp2000 was THE best real world dive watch ever . First Ani -digi with a depth meter . Featured in " the abyss " and " big blue " movies . For all his association with Rolex , Doxa and Omega the original 3 battery Aqualand was the issued watch for crew members on board Cousteau's Calypso . Keep up the great work mate ;)
Great watch! Purchased one off eBay in 2001 when I started diving and it was my first real watch. Even with a growing collection this one has never left. Thanks for bringing it out again.
DAL stands for Dive Alarm. You can set the watch to sound an alarm if you exceed a certain depth and/or time. I have my watch set for a maximum depth of 40 meters and a maximum divetime of 45 minutes.
Citizen has or had some seriously awesome watches in their portfolio. I really like the ana-digi watchface. Imagine how awesome it would be if this watch would be solar powered!
Your depth gauge is at 9, the sensor for the gauge is at 3. When the sensor at 3 gets wet it turns the depth gauge at 9 on. I own the AQUALAND B741-H31519 version of this watch and love it.
'DAL' part of the display/functions is the 'Dive Alarms' - the user can set these for depth/time to sound the alarm when they are reached/exceeded on a dive.
I like these watches, I'm also very inclined to get one, but here Citizen are so expensive. Due the age of this project, this watch have some questions about usabilty: no backlight, lack of a self synchronizing seconds hand, that is, everytime you pull out the crown, the seconds hand hacks and it doesn't synchronized back with the digital display... Other thing, this module nowdays is only available brand new in the JP1060 model, at least for me here in Brazil, and the JP1060 is a big boy, 45 mm, integrated bracelet... It would look enormous on my wrist.
DAL stands for Dive Alarm, I set mine at 30m depth and 50min dive time, even on a 16m max depth shore dive, if i blow through 50mins under, off goes the alarm !
If you ever consider selling it. Please let me know . I had one of these for over 25 years. A gift from a dear friend. Dove in some of the best spots in the world. Lost it ( I think) May have been grabbed by my now ex . :( .. Great watch man!!!
Not my cup of tea., but in the 90's had friends who dived, and they all used Citizen divers, usually 2 one in use and one that had to be sent back for battery replacement. While their dials were more traditional and had a similar case and functions.

Beautiful! I have a citizen full lume NY0040 and it’s one of my favorite watches!
Love this watch..I bought one new in the late 90s and made well over 100 dives with it. I think they look awesome.

Crazy looking watch sir. Reminds me of the Breitling Aerospace a bit.....but crazier looking. Good find.
I feel my $200 eBay risk paid off. I really like this one.
sensor on the left is the pressure sensor for depth, the wee little sensor on the right side is the water detection sensor,

Great piece affordable is different, but in a good way,I love mine, Thank you my friend for reviewing this magnificent piece,I'm Citizen Geek 😆
Love Citizen wish you would do a review on the ORCA
That’s me, I consider it “rescuing” the watch! Plus I really like finding watch models that are rare and out of production!
It’s a water sensor on the right side of the watch
DAL is probably for your dive alarms. My JP2000 has two dive alarms you can set - dive time expired and max. desired dive depth reached.
DAL is Depth Alarm. You can set a depth and it will beep when you hit that depth.

Fun looking watch. How is Utah?

Very cool watch. I’ve owned the black one.

Saw a bunch the other Day on eBay , they're cool . I would have to get my little rubber Ducky out and test the Auto Sense feature.
Can you do a video on Casio Arnie with a 200m water-resistant watch? Do you anything about that watch?
Yes this one of the best looking Citizen dive watches......
If you hold the A button "top right" it will go into temp mode to read the temperature!

the pip is a release valve for gas buildup nitrogen specially
no, it is a water sensor, when this part contacts with water watch sensors begin to work automatically
Lie the french style NATO on the other watch, ordered a similar one a day or two ago for my Seiko Monster.
l have same model only orange color .vhy no beep every one hour???
Great watch. This is the case that the actual Aqualand should have. The depth gauge is better desinged in this model!
Tenho um desses a anos ... funcionando perfeitamente.
Ne possiedo 1 uguale. 1996, nella finestrella in basso mi segnala ER.
Citizen won’t fix it. Friend of mine sent an older one in and they couldn’t do anything with it. I don’t think they even sent it back.
I sent mine to Citizen for a full service no problems!
Cool
Make me think of a sheriff's badge.
1998?
I think you want to flip this one, Sunday Funday sale?
I don't like it but I think the hate it/Love it is probably the point
