You can sample in any track. Even if like here you have a beat playing in track 1 you can still sample in track 1. The recorder isn’t linked to the “machine” that’s on the track. You have 8 recorders that are armed independently. Once you realise this it actually goes a long way to understanding how the Octatrack fundamentally works. There’s 8 separate recorders buffers. You can record on track 1 every time but assign the recording to a track afterwards.
Great video per usual! For some reason I could not replicate that sampling process to a new track. In other words the new sample recorded over the first sample, even though I selected a new track. Hope that makes sense. I will keep messing with it. But ya I sure appreciate your videos.
Love your videos Ponchy! Curious how you would approach of sampling through the SSL Big SiX? I've thought of potentially using a Cue to allow sampling and effects (have also a patchbay), but wanted to see if there was a better method rather than re-patching through the patchbay.

Perfect Merci
No prob!
how could the sample be played chromatically with a midi keyboard by hand, instead of running it with the sequencer?
My trig is green not yellow?
