buzzcut season is the best representation of pure heroine, the mood, the soul of a 16 teenager bridging adulthood consciousness, the lyricism and the vocals.
I think I was 14 when Pure Heroine was released. I remember I had no idea that songs were from albums. When I heard Royals for the first time, I didn't know why, but I searched for the artist behind it. Then that's how I found out about PH, and the concept of albums in general. I remember I downloaded MP3 versions of PH. That was a life-changing experience for me. PH, Lorde's artistry...were life-changing for me. I wasn't the same kid anymore. Of course, I was a teenager. Except for Melodrama, I haven't found another perfect album like PH.
Lorde consistently drops albums I need in my life, or will eventually need. Tennis Court and RIbs changed the way I saw music when I was 12, and I would carry that with me throughout my adolescence. Melodrama is a literal masterpiece. It came out during a really hard time in my life, and experiencing my first heartbreak.
Melodrama hit me harder as an adult (I was moving out, experiencing love and the pains of it all for the first time), but Pure Heroine felt like a throughline between her and many other teens going through the awkward transition from teenhood to adulthood. Teams fills me with nostalgia. It was the song on the radio on the way home from guard competitions, late at night, but Ribs feels like the beating heart of the album without overshadowing the rest of the songs that all feel like a conversation. We were all going through change, and it was okay to feel cynical, afraid, isolated.
Been Relistening to this album every 2 years or so since I was 15 when it released and I have to say, it always feels me with so much nostalgia of my teenage years and life after high. I'm glad I always took the time to enjoy my childhood because usually we are all so eager to grow up in our youth but we realize as we grow older those were the most precious times. Atleast I can say I always took the time to enjoy every moment of it. Even at the time I knew it was something magical about the time. Even tho I was usual marked as the weird kid or whatever but I never let those comments affect me from being 100 myself, before the harsh world hit me
no one i possibly can explain too will get how much i love the album its built beautifully all with a story each track. songs feel like a shade of green or black or white or just color. I'm really in awe with her work no artist has made me feel so many emotions except her shes my main inspo of why i want to be a musical artist. I know I'm a cheesy teen but man i just can't explain it but that 😭she resonates with me and her music is never a skip to me.
Well done man! Pure heroine is probably my favorite body of work next am by Arctic monkeys bc they’re both perfect projects, perfect music arrangement and Shakespeare level lyrics
this is the first album I really connected with, I listened it from start to finish for several years, I was super amazed by the lyrics and atmosphere of it, the first time listening an album that really described how I felt, I was just starting working at 19 years old and I felt this album in my bones, still love it, my favorite right now is Team. This is her best album yet in my opinion, I wasn't very fond of Melodrama it felt emptier than PH and a lot of songs on Solar Power just sounded like the antithesis of Pure Heroine
I loved the video! What a concise and wonderful way to analayze one of the best records of the 2010s, I still can't believe she was only 16 when she made this but oh my god am I thankful for it. Thank you for the video!
for me, besides tennis court, glory and gore might be in my opinion the best song on the record lyrically and sonically its very born to die the album by lana del rey coded
i think i know every word of this album by heart still after 10 years. if you are an adult who hasn’t listened to this, do not mistake this for a boring pop album, and melodrama is even better in my opinion.
lets be honest, she's amazing... but she didn't write these songs alone. Joel Little was a MASSIVE part of her success. Her voice and her authenticity is what sells, but if not for Joel Little, no one would have ever heard any of this music. Saying "how Lorde wrote a perfect album.." is misleading.
Well she still more talented and better songwriter than Billie Eyerash! Her brother does majority of the work! Point the finger at that overrated bore...👎🤷♂️
okay, but if not for Lorde no one would probably listen to Joel Little either. Of course they both created something amazing and both deserve recognition

Yes yes yes

Same. I was 14 when I heard her the first time. Been a fan ever since
It's wild to me that this video hasn't got more views considering the measureless quality of it.
Exactlyy
it's so good, wow!
Buzzcut Season is such an underrated song

She really is the voice of a certain generation. But they stopped marketing her as such. Which sucks

Even David Bowie said she was the future of music
i just wanna note that whisper pop was pinoreed and popularized by lana del rey, what lorde populrized was minimalistic instrumentation
this!
im gonna tussle some feathers with this but Lorde hasnt missed once and honestly is the one setting up the targets for these pop stars
I literally could write ESSAYS about lorde discography. like it actually insane how she writes her songs
Bro this was amazing.
Huh as much as I adore pure heroine, the truly skinless album for me will always be melodrama! Excited to watch this as a huge lorde fan !!
i wanna see this style video on how melodrama is pop perfection cuz come on now, she is the moment
justice for no better ‼️
no one i possibly can explain too will get how much i love the album
