    The front wheels are casters, made so you can roll it in different directions without having to pick it up. They're also locking, which is a nice touch. Another huge deal maker for this grill is the ash pot clean out on the bottom, probably the best thing about it.

    I have a question! If the Hopper runs out of Pellets...and you happens to not be around at that moment,......will the grill automatically shut down by itself?

    • @PelletGrill
      @PelletGrill  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. If the Pit Boss 1600 competition series grill runs out of pellets while you are not around, the grill will not automatically shut down immediately. Instead, it will continue to operate until the remaining pellets in the auger are completely used up. Once the pellets are exhausted, the temperature will begin to drop, and the grill will eventually shut off due to the lack of fuel to maintain the fire.
      However, this can result in a couple of potential issues:
      Temperature Drop: The grill temperature will drop, which could affect the cooking process and the quality of the food.
      Fire Outage: If the fire goes out and the grill is left unattended for an extended period, there is a risk of ash buildup in the fire pot, which could be problematic when you restart the grill.
      To prevent these issues, it's a good idea to regularly check the pellet hopper and ensure it has enough pellets for the entire cooking session. Some pellet grills, including the Pit Boss 1600, may have features or accessories available to alert you when the hopper is low, such as hopper sensors or Wi-Fi connectivity with notifications, so consider using these if you are frequently away from the gri

"The PIT BOSS1600COMPETITION SEROES has many fine features that make it so great, but of course many of these same features are available in the competing brands such as Traeger and Weber,..... HOWEVER the one feature (besides the great price) that sets this model apart from the rest tis the ROLL TOP LID! It opens SO SMOOTHLY without the need for a Heavy Lift i just see that as Genius!! If PIT BOSS can begin to offer that in subsequent earlier, but "Upgraded " Models...even the small ones, I'm sure that would be a great selling feature!

    These "Cons" seem pretty minor. As far as weight goes...those foolish enough to want a 24" "Komodo Joe" Charcoal grill, realize that it weighs Almost 500 pounds and you have to stoke it with charcoal. This Pellet BBQ doesn't even weigh half that!

      @@PelletGrill I saw a Komodo Joe 24" for $3,000. Weighed about 487 pounds. Had a cooking area of about 452 sq in. That's about 29% of the area the PIT BOSS 1600 offers...for about $800 Gee..I wonder what the better deal here is!
