This is my first Smash game. I remember being casual asf on it. I didn't play a whole lot of Subspace, only sometimes. I mainly just played Classic Mode on easy difficulty with Sonic. Brawl brings back memories. Now I just play Project M and Ultimate, both casually and competitively.

About the Gecko codes: A lot of them depend on region so make sure you're using the correct one for your Brawl game (disc, ISO or otherwise). Also make sure they're actually staying in effect when you launch, they don't always save.
11:20 the dedede chaingrab works if the opponent doesn't get knocked down by dthrow. I think if the character is around peach's weight or lighter, they get knocked down by the throw. Naturally, metaknight is too light to be caught by the chaingrab. Some characters can also DI away to avoid the regrab and that depends on the character traction (like luigi), so I think that might have happened.

I remember playing Jigglypuff against my brother and spamming rollout, having Pokemon battles on Bridge of Eldin, loving the music, and of course savoring every moment of Subspace Emissary... This game might not be good for competitive, but it's top tier in our hearts
This was my childhood... I used to play it all the time with my twin as a young kid. Subspace was amazing. I remember getting stuck at a part where a bunch of bowser faces flash on the map, and I still have no idea how to get past it lmao.
Last time I played Brawl was months ago and I just went the HopCat route of picking a character with a chaingrab (Falco) and seeing what happened. It certainly is a video game that I used to play for hours and hours on end. I spent more time in the Stage Builder than I could ever even know, maybe even moreso than actual matches lmao.
Fun fact: Ike can grab the ledge with up-b while facing away from the stage, meaning you can spike someone and live even while facing the other way. His down tilt also spikes at the ledge.
Looking back at this, I can’t believe my brother and I put so many hours into this game. What a journey that was, before I knew there was a competitive side.

I love how broken meta knights frame data is that it gives him combos. Why up air comes out with near zero end lag and startup is beyond me. It literally comes out three times in a row in a shorthop. A shorthop, not even a full hop. That and down b plus c stick spam is the most broken timeout/stalling move that erases his existence unless he wants to attack. Broken!
