This dude is almost certainly capable of murder. The police need to at least get him on a warch list of some kind.
The mental health system and the systems in general are so terrible it wouldn't surprise me if he was stockpiling weapons and goes back over this while the authorities throw their hands up and say they can't do anything.

He stabbed the photos because he couldn’t stab her and the fact he destroyed her son’s stuff and stabbed photos of him is beyond a red flag. She’s lucky he didn’t do to her what he did to her home. I really hope he is found and made to pay for this.

The only one I feel sorry for is the child and the cats. I’m so sick of these types of mothers, inviting these type of people into their home and introducing them to their children. There was many red flags before she moved him in. He’s clearly not relationship material at all. Being 30+ years old without a job living with your parents that is not someone you introduced to your child and move into your home. Single mothers need to start being more swift with who they introduced in their children’s lives. The moment she essentially invited a stranger into her house to live with her, and her young child. She should’ve put a security system in place. If she had she would’ve had the prove that he’s the one that did all the damage. She did learn a very important lesson. Never ignore the red flags no matter how little they seem.

He worked since he was 16 and saved up to go away to university. He came back home during lockdown, missing out on having a graduation ceremony.
But like he said, he went to uni to graduate - not to have a ceremony. Which he did with a 1:1. A first.
I told him he could live with me while he saved up for a deposit in a house rather than pay extortionate amounts of rent.
He’s travelled the world which he couldn’t have done had he been renting.
At 31 he is now a homeowner with a great income. He has an amazing woman in his life who I’m hoping he marries soon.
Not all single mothers are garbage - some of us have single motherhood forced on us.

Edit: It shows a lot of rage to destroy literally everything, including stabbing pictures off the walls. If you've been around DV or are a survivor of DV this behavior is common, but not always that extreme. Kaitlyn risks ruining her own life by lying about this which makes me inclined to believe her.

I feel awful for her, my goodness. But in a way I also feel relieved that she and her kid weren't around for his rampage, this could have ended a lot worse.

I've known women to actually stage events have someone put in jail. If police abandon it they know more than we do.

oh and the pictures... pictures can be printed again, and she doesn't look like someone who had every photo of her stabbed by a maniac who could have killed her and might even still do it, especially when she's exposing him like that... a lot of "sus" things in there definitely.

The stabbing of the pictures was definitely a scare tactic, and a very unhinged one. I honestly would fear for mine and my child’s life if I was in her shoes. I hope she, her child, and her cat(s) stay safe. :(

That's not a scare tactic it's pure unbridled rage at not having the target of his anger to unload on. He likely spun himself up to that level after quite a while, but it means he is fully capable of directing murderous intent towards another person instead of being emotionally mature and moving on with his life.
Cameras are everywhere, can she talk to her neighbors? Any deliveries made during that timeframe from Amazon? How about local businesses nearby with security cameras? All they need is cameras putting him in the space and time, it's possible... don't give up hope, girl, you're so strong. And as Atozy said, we may even have some cell phone data that could put him in this point in time.
The problem is put the person on the apartment without doubt. Anything else is a circumstantial that will strong depend on the judge to see as valid or not. This is too much risk, if take at hand some judge will think this is another crazy woman case, as a machist would thinking.

Right, in this day and age there has to be something showing he was there.
In my country at law school there is a mandatory famous case that everyone has to study where a man followed a woman in a closed alley, he was caught on camera chasing the woman into that alley then exiting the alley alone. They found the woman dead in that alley, there was no other access to the alley asie from the one with the camera and that man had been the only one following her in that alley, and then leaving the alley alone. He got ruled innocent cause the camera didnt catch him in the act of killing her, so despite all the evidence indicating without any doubt that he killed her, they couldn't prosecute him cause there was no video of him doing the act. Absolutely insane.

When my son was 7, we had to move unexpectedly so his father offered to hold onto all of my son's things instead of me getting a storage unit. We were not together at the time, but I took him up on his offer. Once he had all of my son's toys, books, movies, stuffed animals, etc, he told me that he didn't think he should pay the $300 child support and I should lower it. Keep in mind, this man never had his son and would come over once a week to play with him for a few hours, then leave. Also, the child support was court ordered by the state. I could not change it even if I wanted to. I told him no. When I moved into my new apartment, I texted him to get my son's things and he once again asked me if I would get rid of or lower his child support. I again told him I could not do that. He then texted, "What stuff?". I told him I needed our son's things and he said, "What things? I don't have anything". He then told me he literally tossed all of my son's belongings other than the clothes I had with me because I wouldn't lower his measly child support. My son was the one to read the text when it came through because he was excited to get his stuff. He's 13 now, and it still haunts him. He needed counseling after that, for years. This man who destroyed her and her son's home should be in prison. This is so beyond horrible. I'm hurting for her so badly.
I hope this follows him for the rest of his life. So that even if he decides to get his shit together and convince others to take a chance on him, he has to face what he has done.

The state prosecuter needs to get hell for this. Whatever intern looked over the case and decided to toss it is losing their job.
That if was a intern that take a case and not a state attorney looking for next winning case to been promoted or something like this.
Outside of a restraining order the most she can do is sue him for the property damage. Nothing the state can do as this would be a civil matter.
There is no evidence he actually did it, that’s just by it was tossed. Innocent until proven guilty remember?
Unfortunately without any proof of him being there at the time it happened or neighbors willing to testify hearing it then seeing him leave they won't charge him because he just needs to say. "Wasn't me, I wasn't there. Prove it." Can't use any physical evidence of him inside since he lived there. It is garbage, but no DA would take this on as they have nothing on him.
I know the area she is from, and the state attorney is infamous for refusing to press charges unless they believe 1000% they’re going to win. It is insane.
This is horrible and the fact that the authorities failed her makes me feel stomach churn. I'm just glad that she and her son are still with us. God knows what could've (and sadly still might) happened to them if they were in the path of his rage. Things can be replaced but lives can't. Some things can’t be replaced. Like pictures that were on film, or gifts given by people who passed away, even some of her hard drives with pictures could’ve been destroyed. Very glad she wasn’t home but destroying property, u have no idea what some things mean to people.
Police can’t do anything. This would go to civil court because of the property damage. The most she could do is get a restraining order.
Its not that the authorities failed her, its more like legally they cant do anything, yes she shows a destroyed house and she herself said that she knows its him but at the end of the day, we have no idea who did it. She herself said that she couldn't imagine him doing this, she said she left him there but what if he also left and some stranger came and destroyed shit for fun (which is a sad fact that happens sometimes).
I am no way defending the guy, if he did this shit then i personally think he deserve a broken jaw but from what she's shown and said and what we can see, the police cant do anything, yeah they can detain him and lock him down for like a day but with no proof of him doing any of that or capable of doing that then there's nothing they can do and would have to let him go after

This is why I always say I don’t see myself being with someone if me and my childs father were ever not together anymore. It’s terrifying to think about how someone can act like a decent person but be someone like this and you have them around your child. Thankfully her and her son are okay.

I know someone who did something similar and the police said that the add on of spreading animal/human waste around is really scary and shows truly unhinged behaviour on top of everything else. I got so anxious when I heard about the cat litter everywhere and hoped the cats where fine. Stabbing walls, slashing up clothes and blankets, very real chance of harm to the cats outside of all the broken glass and such. Especially with the *stabbed photos* jesus christ. This is a horrific situation but I'm so glad the cats are ok. I hope he gets the full force of the law come down ontop of him eventually, she's incredibly justified in kinda essentially doxxing him tbh he doesn't deserve any job, friends or anything. People need to be warned about him to be able to avoid him.

I would find it hard to believe if someone told me this man was a peaceful little angel before she broke up with him, and then just snapped. I would bet that his behavior, is exactly why she left. I am proud of her for being brave enough to leave, because obviously this relationship would've just gotten worse, and most likely physical, possibly for her child. Always pay attention to red flags, because they might just save your life. I feel so bad for her though that they determined they couldn't press charges. This is just so horrifying and heartbreaking. I went through something very similar with my ex-husband. And her kid is young but I know from experience that although he might not remember the details of what happened back then when he gets older he will remember the confusion and the fear and anxiety and the instability that he felt surrounded by & that will probably profoundly affect his sense of security and the relationships that he is capable of forming for the rest of his life.
I think the bigger fear should be: will this crappy flesh bag try to come back and harm her and her son. Terrifying! I hope she finds justice and peace. 💛
She should check with all her neighbors and see if any of them have ring cams or doorbells that captured him entering or exiting. Also......start a Go Fund Me. People will help her.

I call BS on the prosecutors claim that because there's no video, there's no way to charge. There is enough circumstantial evidence that he did this to charge him. There are also probably also physical evidence, like fingerprints, to prove he was there. People have been convicted using this type of evidence and he likely knows this.

You actually need CCTV footage showing him arriving/leaving around the time the incident happened.
I know it sounds crazy but unfortunately it is not BS ..prosecutors will ONLY file charges on these type of situations with out physical evidence ONLY if there is suspected domestic abuse going on along with the destruction of property. Most states side with victims of domestic abuse but only when it is physical and with out that then prosecutors will not waste their time on destroyed property from a break when it is all circumstantial. Any half decent lawyer would be able to toss that case by saying she staged it because he cheated on her with the girl he’s with now and she is trying to back lash. Prosecutors are grade A jerk faces and they thrive over having only near perfect conviction rates and so they literally will not waste their time if they dont have an easy win, ie: clear cut evidence.
The issue is, they date, he’s been it her house so obviously there’s fingerprints, and there’s no evidence of him doing it, with ur logic, we should charge every person with a crime that we feel like did something

Stuff like this (and crazy stories from women I’ve known over the years) is why I have no hard feelings toward a girl I knew years ago that distanced herself after she canceled our date and lied about why. I didn’t cuss at her and I was over it the next day, but I expressed my extreme disappointment turned anger about her dishonesty by making part of my message all caps and telling her it was obvious she wasn’t being honest with me. It sucked that I lost the person I got along with most at work in addition to the evening I had planned, but she had no way of knowing if I was crazy or mad enough to make things weird at work. As a more mature adult close to 10 years removed from the pain of that L, I don’t blame her for not risking it. Better safe than sorry.
This is a very real fear of mine, a bad break-up which ends with everything I own getting broken or stolen because the other person is a sociopath.

We had the same thing happen to my family. My little sister broke up with her abuse ex. He then broke into our house, stole my sisters cat, and killed him in some random field near his house.
When she went to the police department, they told us the same exact thing. That they would need video evidence of him breaking into our house and leaving. Luckily, the dumbass took a selfie of him with our cat moments before he murdered him so at least we have that to go off, but we felt absolutely defeated when the police told us that he probably won’t get charged or taken to jail. So I can only imagine the emotions she’s going through right now.

My Dad did something like this with my Mom at the start of their separation/divorce in 2018. He had "moved out" of the house and would come back often to get things or see us kids. Our Mom had a guy(her cousin) stay with her and us because she was scared of our Dad and one day while me and my sister was there and everyone else was out he came in and shredded all the guys clothes and used his Katana he has to tear up his and our Mom's brand new king bed. The police couldn't do anything once my Mom came back and found everything because it was between husband and wife. I had just turned 18 and my sister was still 16 and we found his antics with us there very scary. And the courts have always sided with our Dad(everyone for as long as I can remember has because they all find him attractive and charismatic enough) on everything because the Judge had his kids taken away and he doesn't believe our Dad should too despite what he's done to me and my sister(he's a p**n addict and has watched me change, kept my sister in a locked room at 16 and talked about how good s** is and has ran his hand up my inner thigh as I slept) and not paying his child support on my brothers. He's a mooch who can't keep a job and refuses to give us our stuff from the house(we've all moved to my Mom's parents 24 acre place) and has been holding my dog hostage as well. He's a deadbeat Dad and is just as crazy as this guy honestly. It's so sad how common this seems to be. I strongly believe it's due to them having fragile egos and self images that they can't handle losing a wife/girlfriend. I hope things work out for her better then they did with my Dad 💜💜

Notice she didnt say anything other than her story and make her seem like an angel that wants to "ruin his life" I mean this is how women are though. I was with someone for a year. Turns out she had a fiance the whole time she was telling me she loves me and wants to be with me. Going on trips with me, having sex with me, etc. The whole time causinf fights, beinf caught in lies until the very end she would not admit anything. Until one day she got caught lying red handed and as a condition of takinf her back I told her to come clean. And she almost did.
When she said she was going to a concert with her mother and took a picture of her with her mom to send to me in order to 'prove' it i guess (guilty conscious) she actually went with her fiance and took that pic while taking her mom to the store. When she said she was going to comicon with her friend (that i had already bought tickets for her and i), she was actually with her fiance. When we had a bad fight over me suspecting this was the case months earlier she acted offended and indignant and told me to kill myself already knowing my past struggles with that. She tried to oush me to do it. Then she left and went and had sex with that man. All the while knowing i was correct in my suspicions. Then the next morning when she found out i didn't end up doing it, she acted relieved and came to reconcile things. Being in such a fragile state from her emotional abuse. I took her back. Im ashamed of it. Fast forward to the day she admitted all of this? She then said she planned on keeping it going as long as possible because she wanted both of us. This is how some women are. They are abusive in such an insidious way.

This reminds me of my old roommate. We served in the Army together. He fell on hard times and needed help. I made the mistake of taking him in. He then proceeded to be a massive bum. Always out of money in a week. Wouldn't hold a job. Tried to use his GI benefits but stopped going after a month. Would meet women online, fall in love, move in with them, and the relationship would soon fall apart, causing him to move back in. Eventually he found a nice woman. Thought everything was well, then he was arrested twice for domestic battery. Was thrown in jail. Twice pleaded for bail. Refused. Then I cut all ties. Found out he also stole my XBOX.
If he put that much effort into actually keeping/finding a job and seeking therapy, he’d def be in a better place in life.

Honestly, he probably really would have killed her. This amount of rage is not normal and had it been directed at her or her child, it would have been a very passionate and violent attack (passionate in the sense of personal, especially in the case of stabbing).
