    The shiny spots may be showing you headspace issues between the case head and the bolt face or cartridge seat !!

    The lacquered finish cases tend to stick in bolt guns. Just my observance from using milsurps most of my life.

    It might be a shooter with the right size bullets ?

      Quite possibly! I think it's a good candidate for cast bullets, but that is something I won't be getting into anytime soon.

      @@upnorthreloading2214 My M44 loves cast bullets sized at .312 . It does 1/2" groups at 50 yds .with some groups a smidge under 1/2 ". The bore slugs at .311 . That is using a forward mounted 2-7 power scope .

      @@jamespollard1670 If my nephew gets into casting, I'll be sure to give an update. He's also been talking about replacing the barrel, so we'll see.
