- In this video we get out hands on the New Western Airguns Rattler in .30 caliber. This semi/full auto beast can produce upwards of 180 fpe thanks to it's hammerless system. The Rattler is outfitted with a TJ Enterprises barrel designed to shoot both pellets and slugs. We give this gun an honest workout with some shooting out to 330 yards using a variety of ammo. #airgunsofarizona #pcpairgun

Wow Dana. This PCP seems to be the most versatile air rifle I can remember to date. What a hunting machine. If it has reliability It could be used to hunt bunnies, wild boar, and deer. Great job on the review. Hopefully you can use it on hunts in the future.

Yes Joe, the .357 Rattler is semi-automatic only. I am amazed by the power and accuracy for a semi auto .357 big bore. I put my order in for a "dirty .30" Rattler because it can go "rock and roll" too LOL!! Also, Dana says it has way more power than the .30cal SK19 I already have. Always , nice to have a "fun switch" LOL!! Great informative video! Excellent video production quality too.

Agree with Simon below. Adding drone content, overland, hunting, cooking etc you got it all. New sub here. Looks like you may be around the Prescott area. Am down in Pima currently. Would be great to hook up one day but am so busy since retiring. Our Rubicon is a beast, need to add a supercharger as heading up North through the passes she would be crawling dispite being geared 😂. Just got into PCP 's love it. Believe the .30 & .50 will be next for me. Love your vids, great content. Be safe

@@MountainSportAirguns hi my question how would you rate the power of the this gun vs the sk19 30cal as i have that ,. what i like about it ,. with a donny suppressor onit back yard friendly , looks lighter weight then the rattler, yet i only shoot accurate jsb 50G pellets out of it i have the power wheel pretty open and i have the reg set to the begging of the red line for max this allows it to shoot down to about 150 keeping it in max max range ,. i judge the power by target practice with it maxed out with the jsb-s it seems pretty blasting ,,. im am wondering is your rattler going to be even more powerful maxed out shooting jsb- pellets ??? is it so much greater ,. i like the 30 cal sks platform its light weight ,. however more power tho would equal better for everything,. and obviously the western can shoot slugs so that in 30 cal or 357 is my next gun ,. im still having a lot of fun with the accuracy or the sks-19 :)
@@themikarenolds2910 The Sk19 has nowhere near this power, this makes 180 fpe. The barrel is a TJ 1:26 that I feel is far better for both slugs and pellets over the LW. Hope that helps.

This is a nice gun and a great gun case. Look like Marley is trying to keep cool. Look like you got new tires on your jeep they do look rugged.
Lots of lead dust and chunks coming off at 14:00? reminds me of some of the crud I got from my TJ barrel the last time I really cleaned it with Ballistol and a pull through:'). I love the extra movement you get by slowly adding movement to the drone as you are driving through the B-Roll parts.
Yeah I shot the heck out of it, ideally should have brought my cleaning kit but sadly forgot it. Thanks for checking it out, as hot as it was I still enjoy making the videos.

Bro the gun has a mind of its own. It refuses to fire.. until I put the selector switch on full auto at which point it starts firing without the trigger being pulled
Sounds like you need to contact whomever it was you purchased it from. Only thing that would cause that would be really low reg pressure.
I’ll be interested in seeing how it can handle on the bench. In my case 22 caliber or 25. His previous design won 50 yard competition so I know the accuracy is umquestionable.
So Air Arms and Western Air had a baby. They named it Rattler. A 9 lb bundle of joy that spits slugs out to 300 yards. Isn’t it just cuuuuute?

So the Sidewinder has a removable magazine, but the Rattler magazine can't be removed? I hope they add that feature to the rattler soon.

Great video review Dana that rifle will be excellent for rabbits and coyotes plenty of power to take out a coyote at longer ranges and the fun switch is ok now and then but in 30 caliber that would be expensive doing that a lot. Cheers brother
I watched the full auto and you seemed to have control. Did you experience a rise in the poi as you held the trigger down? With that power and delivery rate, even though cumbersome, the gun seems to have some overlapping use as a self defense weapon. Would you agree?
Using an airgun for self defense is an absurd and idiotic idea.
Dana what bipod and extensions are you using. On your hunting guns. Look everywhere could not find one.
AccuTac, very expensive and heavy. Harris might be a better option for the price imo

I read on forums about unfixable leaks on this rifle. Any comments about this?
I have had no trouble with leaks, the good thing is these have excellent warranty coverage. Keep in mind forums are full of paid posters that work for certain manufacturers.
For long distance shooting would you say this is better than the daystate alpha?
I prefer the Rattler, has way more power.

The LCS doesn't make even close to this amount of power.

I wouldn't say I like it more, it's like any sort of specific tool. For long range this things definitely a beast.
all I see is the sidewinder in 30 cal. The rattler appears as a 357. Am i wrong?
Rattler is offered in .30 & .35

Depends on the power, anywhere from 17 up to 55+

1in 26 seems slow ( for slugs ).
It's a pretty good balance for both pellets and slugs, they will later down the road offer a more slug specific barrel. Those 65gr shoot fantastic out of it as well as the 50gr JSB's
