I just noticed the name of the tune is "Air Conditioned", because it's cool all the way through!! :)
Listen to Max comp behind the piano, the great jazz drummers knew how to make the soloist shine like the sun. Yes his beautifully melodic solos have influenced many jazz drummers & even some rock players. Thanks for sharing this gem of a recording!

When I started babysitting, these folks had all the Roach albums and a huge McIntosh system/tubes etc. And pot...My initiation. ✨

Max was so melodic when he played. He was the first drummer to teach me that a drum solo could be done in song form.
I thought for a minute Ferguson was going to remain in the staff. But I was wrong.
