- Statler and Dempsey's road trip is about to go from bad to worse. Imagine being stuck living in a van with a woman who claims to love you, but actually doesn't even trust you! Because that's the position Dempsey is now in. Statler's mind is in overdrive. She's questioning whether Dempsey is a scammer. And that lack of trust, added to the money issues and Statler's forgetfulness/inability to listen, spells serious trouble for these two. And you just know that with resentment already building - trapped in that tiny space - this is going to end very badly...

I sponsored my husband from the states to Canada. We got married after a year together. I have been financially responsible for him for 9 out of 10 years total, and I cosigned for his truck because he didn't have credit here. I never once thought he was scamming me 🤷♀️ I also am not neuro-typical either, so that is not an excuse. if you don't trust someone what are you doing with them in the first place ?

Adhd and sensory processing issues can cause this. It feels like we are being yelled at if we are perceiving someone is upset with us. A symptom of rejection sensitive dysphoria which is a lesser known faucet of adhd especially in females

However, in both episodes, Statler was concerned about how much more $ she was committing, was questioning van life, and was concerned about being the sole earner on this trip. And that she was not happy about it. None of that info was new this week. I can see that editing can certainly make one person into a villain one week and a victim in the next for sure. Same goes for the person who does the recap, I guess?
I live and work in a van and for that, you must make sure you have internet - for Stadler to miss that shows she left it all to Dempsey. The prep for this trip was clearly one-sided. This relationship has no future in my view. They could have had such a fab adventure because the van is lovely. Stadler seems a bit of an energy vampire.....

Statlers a snake. It's clear she's secretly looking to make an exit. Something I knew she'd do from the start by merely listening to her and her antics in a relationship she joked about. I.e. cheating. She's looking for anything to blame on Dempsey, like in the van blames her for "hiding money". When Dempsey merely answers the question and Statler has no ammunition to press the issue, she then turns it into a "why do.you have an attitude". Then she comes up with a "youre scamming me maybe" idea. Its nonsense. She doesnt actually believe that. She has selective memory to suit her agenda. She's just looking to blame things on Dempsey so she can leave and still keep Dempsey in the background in case she wants to go back, all on the premise of making Dempsey believe she's doing and has done things wrong. Statler is flat out a manipulative gas lighting snake

I understand all Statlers concern but my days is she going about it extremely annoyingly, she agreed to do it, changes her minds then makes it everyone's problem. Don't say or promise one thing then want to do another thing without saying anything. She's always so negative, which just makes everyone and the environment negative which causes tension. At this point Statler needs to be on here and stop assuming the worse when she's creating the worse out of the situations. Don't promise things and then pretend forgetting what you said.
I don't understand her negativity but I hope it doesn't rub off on Dempsey she is such a genuine sweetheart!! The issue with Statler is, it's always about her, her feelings, her emotions, her anxiety, WELL what about, YOUR GIRLFRIEND??? Statler is still functioning and acting, as if, she is still a single person. Dempsey is so kind but she moves exactly how someone who is sincerely, trying to build something together. Something that is real and genuine, with Statler. Dempsey moves like someone who is READY to be in a relationship. But, Statler I am not too sure she can function in a normal healthy way, that doesn't constantly make EVERYTHING, about herself. Statler is closed off, and not nearly as passionate about their relationship, as Dempsey is.

Who goes I to a a trip without having a budget. How much for gas, groceries, tolls, car maintenance and let’s not forget medical emergencies. Now that the price of gas has hit her on the face she is like no way I can afford this adventure.

Statler is a pain in the ass but, Dempsey has totally pulled a con trick on this one. There's Statler paying for the majority of the van, Dempsey sleeping with other women and, pressuring Statler to get a loan. Alongside that, in this day and age, who the hell says "the Universe will provide an answer"? If it was that easy, we'd all be doing it. But, Statler, I think, has had her head in the sand. She has blatantly ignored the issues, and avoided stuff that should've been talked about before they even considered Van life.
I agree with this take. I feel statler can see this and struggles to effectively communicate what is happening effectively at all. So she is acting in ways that are the best she knows to try and get her needs met in the situation the best she knows how.

Dempsey needs to let Statler know that just because her name is on the V5C it doesn’t mean she is legally the owner. The V5C (the cars logbook in the uk) even states such on the document itself. It’s whoever can show they are making the payments that’s the owner of the vehicle.
The logbook is just to show the government who is responsible for the road tax for the vehicle and where to send fines associated with the car/vans registration.

Not in the uk. The V5C can only be in one name. Be it a persons or a companies.
The important thing to state is the V5C is not proof of ownership. It even states as much on the document itself.
All it is is for the gov to know who is responsible for the taxing of the vehicle and an address to send fines.
Starlet doesn’t like Dempsey nor does she like the idea of van life. She doesn’t want to be the one to do the “breaking up” in order to seem like the victim. Hence her creating issues out of nowhere to push Dempsey to do the breaking up.
Statler has ADHD. I also have ADHD. We forget conversations a lot. My partner will remind me of things we agreed on that I have completely forgotten. He now knows to send it in a text so I remember.
I’ve been watching Statler’s lives regarding this season and it’s all really interesting to watch unfold!

I've been watching Statler on her IG Video Streams claiming she was scammed .....This is my first time hearing that she told Dempsey to quit her job and that she would be the one to support her ... shines a whole new light on the topic for sure
Statler may have neuro issues, but i see a self absorbed easily influenced person. Her friend at home asked questions, that shed never thought about, and now thats where her thinking is stuck. They were never a match but when they met Statlers dream was meeting an English woman to live in an old castle forever. Her orevious english gf and her broke up, it meant keaving the country so she moved to a trailer with no indoor toilet in the country. So Dempsey grew up in the caravan life, Statler in a restricted American life of good privilege. Nothing in common, and Statleres narcissitic trait of lying in the moment, but forgetting when it matters, is the antithesis to simple, plainlife, pull together Dempsey. Sad.

Statler using her ADHD and anxiety as an excuse is not ok. As someone with a great deal of both (and depression), I own up to my misunderstandings, poor choices, and mistakes. Does my neuro-spicy mix sometimes play a role? Certainly, but it is never an excuse. It may help explain why I made a decision or forgot something, but does not excuse poor behavior.
Statler made is miserable also for Dempsey. I dont blame Dempsey one bit. Statler LOVE BOMBED her. At the statler stans are crazy.

Ummm, stop spreading misinformation....this is what STATLER said and she provided no proof....at all. So no, there is no proof that Dempsey scammed Statler. It seems like Statler bailed from the relationship and then started a hate campaign against Dempsey. People have asked her for proof many times and she never shows anything proving what shes saying. She also crapped talked several people on the cast, making crazy accusations (also without proof). The woman is off her rocker and ive never gotten a good feeling. There is a reason she (admittedly) bounces from relationship to relationship. People on the internet need to use their brains and stop accepting things as fact with no proof just because someone is louder than the other one. Now after watching the actual newer episodes Im even more convinced Dempsey didn't do anything.....Statler and her broke up and now Statler is salty that she put all her chips in this basket when its her own fault.....
