It's great! that people take time to make vedio like this to show us, who that own jd tractors, on how we should know the places that should be greased, for the dealership don't do this at the time we buy the tractor, but when the part wears out, they say didn't you grease that, lol

I am still certified as a master Technician with Deere I spent 24 years as a Tech and the last 18 of it as a field tech . As of May of 2017 due to very bad management at the dealership I worked at in south Tx ,I separated from Deere . In the area I live in the politics in the dealerships ruin the pride to work for Deere ( Bad management etc ) . I will say Deere products have become crap . When I started I was proud to work for Deere But 24 years ago they built a good product . Now they build cheap junk . I have worked on and replaced 100's of these crappy Vari-cool fan drives . Most under warranty , many just out of warranty . Deere has paid millions In warranty claims on this engineering disaster . But Farmers think of it this way you are paying for Deere's Screw ups , the price of this equipment goes up and up every year because there major product failure rate under warranty is so high . Trust me there not going to eat there lose they are. and there going to pass the buck on to the customer .

I am having this problem (leak) with a 8295R is there a way to overhaul the unit (new seals, etc) instead of buying a new Vari-Cool Fan Drive? Thanks

S Phillips yes they are simple to rebuild , the problem you may run into is if the inner sheave splines are worn badly or if the shaft is grooved . Once you get it apart inspect those closely if all is good new seals and bushing and you will be good to go 👍

@@farmerjoe338 Thank you. The machine has 300 hours on it. I found a parts list for the driver assembly. Looks like a total of 34 parts. so I can order just the seals and bushings and be good? I am in South Texas as well. I have read on the net that this is a common failure. I am curious which internal part is failing.

S Phillips what fails is the lack of lubrication and the grease used to lubricate the fan drive . It’s not the owners fault it’s Deere that has failed . I always used Deere extreme duty grease , it a pure synthetic high temp grease , and it’s food grade 🧐 imagine that 🤔 but it is the greatest grease I have ever found because it’s not clay based and will not break down in high temperature operations , when you open the tube it looks like the clear RTV silicon, great grease in my opinion
