- MK Trilogy cheat for one button fatality.
This is a cheat that I discovered back in high school, freshman year of 1996, about a few days after the game was released. We didn't have TH-cam then and Netscape navigator was the search engine to have.

I remember playing this on N64 when I was 12 and button mashing at the end of fights in hopes of triggering something 😂
It's the first time i hear about this. Amazing how these games still have undiscovered cheat codes 20 years later...

No argument from this corner.
We used to do this all the time when I was in grade school/high school.
Also, MK4 has a similar cheat and I recall that if you enabled the stage fatality, all stages (except for the fan level) would have the spike ceiling.
I would love to try mk4, the only time I had ever played mk4 was when the arcade cabinet was first released. It tripped me out that the opponent ripped my arm off and beat me with it ha ha 😂😅🤣

MK4 cheat code menu was difficult to do because it requires you to do a 2 player combination code.
@@darkside9547 Oh, I only played the PC version, where you just held Low Kick + Block in the options screen.
Holy-Moly... I had no idea - - & I had this port for PSX, but found myself going back to playing the Saturn version of this game due to the fighting games of the Sega console. I am happy you can do this because the "brutalities" can be challenging in terms of pressing eleven buttons rapidly without hitting the wrong button, thus not pulling it off successfully. I love this cheat and it’s an easier way to do brutality, but to bad you can’t do a stage fatality! Mortal Kombat Trilogy is one of my favorite PS1 games and I still have it!
you may be able to do a stage fatality by holding a directional button while using this cheat. go ahead and try that out.

Woah! This is the first time, i ever heard of this cheat mode on MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY for PlayStation.
Before I bought this game, i used to play
MORTAL KOMBAT on my Amiga 500,
MORTAL KOMBAT II on my neighbour's
Super Nintendo, and MORTAL KOMBAT 3 on
my other friend's PC.
Before them, back in the early 1990's,
I played the original arcade version of
MORTAL KOMBAT at a former kiosk in
Vantaa. That was the first time, when i heard about this game 😺👍.
Back then i was 9 or 10 years old 😹.

As a kid before I reached my teenage years, I played MK 1 on my Sega genesis, and I had MK2 on Sega when I was 13. The soundtrack for the Sega genesis version MK1 kept me hooked, although I wish that they would have held true to Sub Zeros head rip fatality. During these times American politics were trying to find an appropriate direction in regard to the censoring of media, so they had to sensor things that the arcade could get away with showing. I also knew a kid who went to the store after school to purchase mk1 for Sega, his parents gave him money, he had to return for his father to buy it for him because an individual had to be 18 to purchase.

I even have both MORTAL KOMBAT movies on Blu-Ray.

I remember this cheat when I was a kid in 99 2000 I use to go to the option mode and hold up and all buttons it worked for me there we got the code from the old Playstation magazines
I came to this video expecting to see the classic cheat options, was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea about. Must have blown your dome back when you were a kid.

I never knew this trick after all these me and my brother played this game besides the code in the options in Mortal kombat Trilogy!!!!! I missed this game and on Nintendo 64!!!

Am I doing something wrong? the cheat worked at the menu, did the rumble effect, the first fight it worked, the second fight it didn't do one button anymore. I just restarted and tried again, and now it doesn't work at all? 🤷🏽♂

Not really, I been knew about it.I actually did it by holding up and all 4 back buttons on that same screen. Didn’t know about the way you did it

R1 = Friendship
R2 = Animality
Triangle = Fatality 1
Circle = Fatality 2
Square = Brutality
X = Babality ( i Don't know is that work or not )
For Pit Fatality = i Don't know :v
What sucks is it only lets you do the fatality once and then the rest of the people you fight it doesn’t allow it

I remember discovering the secret menu accidentally but it was a smart way to accidentally discover the secret menu, I held up the Up+ L1,L2+R1,R2 and the secret menu was showed up.
But I didn't knew about the down+select method, Thanks for the demo 👍 definitely gonna download it on my PSX emulator on my phone lol

Nice didn't know this! Pretty sure you can do the Question mark cheat on any of the options though not just the dragon one. Whenever I did the one button fatality cheat using the question mark button it never seemed to work with the characters I picked. They'd always fail the fatality.

what compelled you to try holding down those buttons? were u searching for cheats or did u discover it accidently
As a teen I would try different buttons combinations with every new game I would get. I also used to try and hack with game shark. Thank you for asking
Yeah, I did the same thing. Ed Boon was notorious for putting in hidden code and stuff like that. In fact, Ed said there was still one more secret code that no one has figured out on the original arcade machines. It was only found out just 5 years ago. You would be able to enable free play with it. I would have done anything for that code back then! 🤣
doing regular moves was always a pain in the ass for MK3 ... don't know how some of these guys can hit so many amazing combos

Writing down and passing out cheat codes and MK Fatality codes during lunch immediately made you the popular kid in school before the modernization of the internet, Cheat Code Central and GameFAQs. Good times. I miss cheat codes. Now everything is either paid DLC or microtransactions.
I am glad that you have brought this up, very good point. I am now 40 years old and i remember those times when a video game code was a SECRET, I'm talking mid 1980's 1990's and it seems that in 1996 all of those cheat code magazines started disappearing one by one.

There is actually another way
Go to options> press and hold l1+l2+r1+r2+ up pad at the same time and then the question mark will be selected
This was done on the EU version. Not sure on the us version but try it anyway😁
