“Paradise Theater” was one of the first rock records I ever heard. It was among my mom’s record collection. That, Kiss’ “Alive 2” and The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” were the first albums that turned me on when I was 6-7 years old. But the Styx album, which is already drenched in a vibe of nostalgia, always brings me back to those times (early 1980s) , when I was still innocent.
Just saw them at Jones Beach absolutely incredible. Legends 💚💚💚 Tommy is Rock God and all of them can sing like its 1980 their voices are incredible 🎤🎤🎤
I still remember that concert like it was yesterday! I caught it twice since there were different venues in driving distance back then. It’s a great album. Not my favorite overall album, but Too Much Time is one of my favorites off of that album. Love to hear Tommy’s story about how the song came to him. I find that interesting.
That's my second all-time favorite album ever done by Styx (the first is KILROY WAS HERE, the third is PIECES OF EIGHT, the fourth is GRAND ILLUSION and we go on from there). Your music got me through some pretty hard times when I was a kid and I can't thank you enough for keeping me sane and HAPPY in those days.
what Paradise Theater means me is awesome record definitely good vinyl plus I got a free album Styx was 2 hours late in Charleston West Virginia thanks for the album Styx Tommy all of y'all j.y. Dennis and Chuck God Rest his soul and even Dennis DeYoung
Hmmm, let's think whose baby was paradise theatre? I think Dennis Deyoung or was it Larry Mcgowan? Why is Larry even sitting there? He contributed nothing. For those true Styx fans checkout the Dennis Deyoung single off a recent album,"With all due respect". True Styx sound, great single.
It's amazing how these guys can deride him like crazy while riding his coattails. If they're so against him, they should drop all the songs he wrote or contributed to. They'd have a nice 30 minute set.

One of my fave Styx songs!
I learned to drive in a white Toronado and took my driving test in it. Big ole 455 front wheel drive. Aced the parallel park in that land yacht.
In 1998, Tommy told me this same story when I conducted a radio interview with him.
Love that song! I know all the words!!
